Demand Your Senator Support the Harkin Diminishing Obstacle Filibuster ProposalThis petition is to demand that U.S. Senators support Sen. Tom Harkin's proposal on filibuster reform, under which legislation can be slowed down, but not kept from the U.S. Senate floor, by the supermajority requirement. The GOP has misused the filibuster rule to block not only tax reform and jobs bills, but judicial nominations as well.100 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Adrian Tatum

Term Limits for PoliticiansWe have been held hostage by lifelong politicians who no longer serve the community and their constituents. It is time to add language to our laws that will limit term limits for all politicians. If two terms is long enough for the President, it is long enough for the Senate and House.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by J. Daniel Young

Cut the salaries and pensions of the United States Senators and CongressmenThe Republicans want to cut the benefits that so many people in this country need - in most part due to their ineptness in the 8 years that President Bush was in office. The unfunded wars and tax cuts put this country into debt. They deregulated Wall Street. It is time for the Senators and Congressmen to accept their fair share in the cuts.6 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Carrol Nagers

Repeal the Second Amendment NowEnough is enough. Americans shouldn't have to be worried that an irresponsible gun-owning parent's recklessness will result in the slaughter of their young children at school. We need REAL gun control. Stringent rules such as those in Australia or the UK. Dramatic reductions in the numbers of guns in American homes. In order to do that, we must first repeal the 2nd Amendment, to remove the deadly constitutional right of all Americans to own as many lethal weapons as they desire. Repealing the 2nd amendment won't automatically make all gun ownership illegal, but it will allow us to move forward and create the rational rules we need for the 21st century.6,234 of 7,000 SignaturesCreated by Repeal the Second Amendment Now

Do Not Steal My RetirementI went to school for more than 20 years to earn a PhD and then worked for the US Government. During my Federal tenure, my ability to receive Social Security benefits from funds I had paid into the Social Security Fund before working for the Government were reduced by one-half to two-thirds. The original deal (promise) was, I pay in so that I receive a calculated amount when I reach retirement, based on my earnings. Further reductions in Social Security is a continuation of this cold, hard thievery by those in suits and furs (Congress). Stop, get your paws out of my purse. As a solution, first, Congress should take a big pay cut; Congress makes very little effort to learn how to get along and negotiate, like petulant, spoiled children with jam down their fronts. Let's also cut Congress' pension by two-thirds. This would be based on "they don't deserve it" - true, and "they don't need it" - most likely true. Lesson: Don't rob Social Security, a fund entrusted to the Government for those who worked and paid in. This is not your money to manipulate and steal. Congress, get extensive instruction on how to get along and also learn how to think of and thank others whose shoulders you stand on. I know you think you are all big deals; but really, you are lazy, puffed up, have poor memories and have forgotten for whom you work. And, perhaps you should exercise and go to church, on your own dime, not mine.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by carol Bass, PhD
