I was having a political discussion with my nephew and it occurred to me that he and I believed a completely different set of "facts" about the same situation. We should not rely simply on "belief" to decide the direction and future of our country. We need to demand total honesty from our representatives, leaders and government.

As one of Senator Franken's Minnesota constituents, I can attest to his courage in protecting America's middle class. We call on his leadership to fend off ANY Social Security changes. The lie that Social Security somehow "adds to the deficit" is being used by affluent interests to gut it. Protect YOUR interests and YOUR future!

I am concerned about the proposed cut to social security cut. I, along with all those hard working people worked hard to earn the social srcurity benefit. Please do not make any cut to the S S benefits.

Congress and President Obama are considering cutting Social Security benefits for current and future retirees. All US citizens are required to tell the truth when testifying in our legal courts. If we do not we are subject to punishment by the law. So why should the same rules not apply in the choosing of our soon to be law makers. With all the constant lying that has taken place in our last elections. It has gotten to the point we can't trust any them to tell the truth. How can we have an honest government if they continue to lie to us whenever they like. Enough is enough.

This petition is about limiting those who serve as Congressmen and Senators to two terms. That will force whoever runs to get things done instead of only working for their own gain. No pensions, no crazy medical coverage. Let them come out and work like the rest of us and pay for their own health insurance and pension plans. No more career politicians. Enough is enough. People who run should work for the good of their country and not their own personal gain.

In November 2012, more Americans voted for Democrats than for Republicans for United States House of Representatives. Yet Republicans retain control of the majority of seats in the House. This is because of the way boundaries were drawn, giving more safe seats to one party and wasting more votes for another party, while excluding small parties like Greens and Libertarians. It is time for democracy in the United States of America.

Congress insists to cut Social Security even though this is a program that is fully funded by us the people. Social Security does not affect the deficit because it is a program already paid for by taxing our wages. I do not deny that modifications have to be made to the collection of the Social Security Taxes, (increase the cap 110,000 and increase the rate of these taxes), but this modifications need to be separated from the negotiations for the Budget, since Social Security is already funded by us. If our Congress and Senate insist on modifying our Social Security I propose that they also make reductions, cuts and increase the age for their pensions. I think that would only be fair since they insist on making cuts to a program that has already been paid for.

Because of what happened in Newtown CT. There is talk of gun control. Hunters and gun advocates don't want to give up their right and I feel we should all be able to provide protection for ourselves and our family's. Since it's not the gun deciding who to kill it's the person holding it I think anyone that wants to own/carry a gun should have to have a mental health evaluation. Also a family therapy session maybe 3 sessions. You typically have to wait 3 days for a permit anyway.
