• Ithaca College: Relocation of the Office of Student Disability Services
As members of the Ithaca College community, we petition that the college relocates the Office of Student Disability Services to a more centralized location on campus. The Office of Student Disability Services is currently located in the Towers Concourse, which is not an easily accessible location for students. Its location creates an unnecessary barrier for students who need or elect to use disability services. If the office was moved to a more centralized location, it would be more practical, physically accessible, and students would be more likely to use the services. We believe that all student services should be easily accessible and centrally located on campus. We demand that Ithaca College finds a way to move the Office of Student Disability Services to a more easily accessible location on campus before the start of the 2014-2015 school year.

  • Don't let the Koch Bros use MoveOn tools
I just learned that MoveOn does NOT vet petitions. What is amazing that the right wing has not wholesalely discovered that anyone can join MoveOn, anyone can begin a petition, and that while the guidelines state the petitions are to be consistent with MoveOn goals no one actually checks. However, now that one anti gay marriage petition was successfully posted, the word will spread. If the Koch Bros post a petition, it;'s win-win for them. They get signatures or they get MoveOn members to drop their membership because they will think MoveOn has lost its way. Recall what Steven Biel of SignOn.org said "Our goal is to make America live up to our best progressive ideals as a nation. We don't answer to shareholders; we answer to our members -- seven million Americans who share a commitment to making our country better through collective action. We will never, ever, ever give right-wing front groups a channel for co-opting our members' organizing. In short, we take sides, and we're proud of it. We're for economic justice, equality for women and LGBT individuals, ending poverty, racial justice, quality education for all, a clean environment, and peace. Because like Howard Zinn said, you can't be neutral on a moving train."

  • CANCEL Lookadoo 11/19/13 Event
Just this week in Richardson, Texas (Dallas County), parents and students alike were horrified when they heard Lookadoo was coming to speak at Richardson High. Some parents complained that Lookadoo promotes a "rape culture" where men are aggressive and women are better off keeping quiet. Thanks to twitter, the whole country has its eyes on Lookadoo. Check out the hashtag #lookadouche George West High School is in George West, Texas—Live Oak County (pop. 11,531)

  • Let reptiles be used as service animals
To people who have allergies to mammals who may need service animals, this could be a huge breakthrough for them. It is very uncommon for someone to be allergic to a reptile, and when a service animal is needed for someone with a stress disorder who is allergic to most mammals, a reptile could be perfect for them. This can also help people with epilepsy, because snakes can detect seizures. Due to being cold blooded, they can sense the change in body temperature that happens before a seizure. Please help us spread the word that reptiles can be just as helpful and sometimes even more so than our mammalian friends.

  • Jodi Arias needs to be stopped from financial gain while incarcerated for murder.
I am aware of the Son of Sam Law which is to stop people from financial gain murdermablila. However, this law is really not specific enough for this case of Jodi Arias. I understand she has not depicted Travis Alexander whom she viciously murdered and was found convicted of premeditated murder one with especially cruel aggravator then when sentencing phase was hung we are still awaiting the redoing of that phase. In the meantime Jodi is still doing her art and selling it from jail and gets to keep the money. Everyone says they can't do anything about it. I believe no one wants to make the effort to do anything about it. Jodi may not be depicting Travis in her art or the manner of his death but she is still making money off her infamy because of this high profile case. She is getting a bought and paid for defense by the state of Arizona. She has delayed this trial many times wasting even more money. Don't you think it would be fitting if the money from her sales should go to pay back something to state of Arizona as well as to Travis's family, the now ever so patient family in which Jodi took the life of their beloved brother.

  • Call for the resignation of Robert Abney
Robert Abney is a Principal of a Elementary school and told a parent with stage 4 breast cancer that the smell of her sickens people. He went on to say she's not allowed at the school anymore. He also said that if she wanted to eat at the Thanksgiving luncheon at the school that she would have to sit with her kids in his office. What kind of example is this principal giving to our children? We need to ask for his resignation. In 2011, my son was removed from my home due to a tragic accident, involving a faulty product. Everything the court has imposed, has been completed and three years later they, through, unethical practices, biased opinions and lies refuse to return my son home, to the only parent he has, and further continues to rip apart my family. I humbly plead for your support and help in bringing my only son home so that we can heal and be a family again.

  • Vector control needed in Holbrook neighborhood
The above mentioned property owner, has had complete disregard for their property and surrounding neighbors. According to long time neighbors, the home has been vacant and in this condition for at least the last twenty years. Trash, urine, and feces from unwanted rats, possums, stray/unspayed cats, and raccoons are a constant hazard. Concord police have been notified on numerous occasions due to the offensive stench coming from the home, unknown individuals sleeping on the property, and the home being unsecured. Not only is the home an eye sore, a financial burden, but more importantly, a health threat.
