• Arizona City Physical Address Mail
When ordering a package over the Internet, many times you are not offered a method of shipment. Often if you specify a PO Box the shipper will send you an email "we can't deliver to PO Boxes" so then you give them your street address. If the package is sent via UPS Sure Post, the UPS will drop it off at the Arizona City Post Office, it will promptly be marked as undeliverable and returned. Previously we had a workaround, add our PO box to the zip code (+4) and the Arizona City Post Office would deliver it anyway. Now the Arizona City Post Office informs us that the USPS has a (+4) zip code system that makes the use of PO boxes as +4 unreliable and cannot be used. We are, all required to have our street addresses on file at the Arizona City Post Office as a condition of having a PO Box. The volume of mail/packages arriving daily do not allow the Contractors to deal with these and so they are returned to sender UNDELIVERABLE. The good people who run the Arizona City post office are private contractors and must budget and bid for the business. This would be a funding issue that would have to be approved by the Post Master in Casa Grande. If you live in Arizona city and want to get a pre-paid debit card, you will have similar issues. Pre-paid debit card companies will tell you that they are required by Federal Law to use your physical address and they will only mail the card to a physical address. So if you order a pre-paid debit card and you live in Arizona City, and you follow the law, you will never see your prepaid debit card. What we are asking the US Post Master in Casa Grande to do is allow/require mail sent to street addresses in Arizona City to be delivered to PO Boxes. This petition is NOT a referendum on PO Box delivery vs Street/Neighborhood Delivery. This is a Petition to add Street Addressed mail to the daily PO Box deliver in Arizona city

  • Paul Vallas is a horrible choice for Lieutenant Governor of Illinois
Vallas' accomplishments in Chicago, New Orleans, and Philadelphia was pretty much the privatizing of schools, the reduction of public accountability, and the undermining of strong unions. And now he's in Haiti working his magic "fixing" the lives of even poorer young people. I have absolutely no problem signing a petition for Quinn but I'd hesitate signing a petition with Vallas on it. One stroke or heart attack and we would have Governor Vallas and Mayor Emanuel? No no no. Governor Quinn should choose a running mate that will make Illinois a better state to live in for everyone, not just for a few wealthy individuals.

  • Salary Cap For Nonprofit Housing Developers
The petition is about fairness in the federal subsidized housing programs that are being shredded by the massive sequestration budget cuts, and placing the poor, elderly, and disabled at risk of higher rent increases, the loss of their housing vouchers, and homelessness! Too many executives in so-called nonprofit housing organizations all across the nation make upwards of $200,000 to $300,000 a year, off of tax payer subsidized housing projects!

  • Remove Mason from World of Warcraft
We are the players of the Wyrmrest Accord Server. There is a player named Mason who is a constant nuisance and we are tired of being ignored. We want him banned from the game for good. He's been given plenty of temporary bans, but he's never ceased his behavior.

  • Stop Donating to Salvation Army
My petition is that my beliefs in donations should not be made in the public eye but in privet as the bible says in Matthew 6:1-4 “Beware of practicing your righteousness before other people in order to be seen by them, for then you will have no reward from your Father who is in heaven. “Thus, when you give to the needy, sound no trumpet before you, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may be praised by others. Truly, I say to you, they have received their reward. But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you.

  • Extend Voting Hours in Virginia
Due to the extensive traffic in Northern Virginia, many voters were unable to place their votes by the 7:00 pm deadline. Many of us unfortunately have commute times that can extend over 90 minutes and jobs rarely have the 9-5 hours that were once a staple in this country. After noting the deplorably low percentage of people attending the voting booths this November, I believe extending the voting hours from 7pm to 8pm will allow more people to vote and will increase public participation in the democratic process.

  • Free Speech on Cablevison TV
We watch many news programs like the Rachel Maddow Show and others on MSNBC. We feel they do not cover as much information as is needed to keep the public informed and educated because of other less progressive programming elsewhere. More time slots are needed for people with busy lives to view these other progressive shows.

  • Munsey Park Planning Board - Say No to Subdivision of Section 3, Lot 116, Lot 4
From the Munsey Park Website: Munsey Park was developed on land purchased by newspaper publisher Frank A. Munsey in 1922 and willed to the Metropolitan Museum of Art in 1925. From the beginning, homes were designed by architects to conform to a traditional 'American' style of home - custom built using the best materials and workmanship. To this day plans for alterations, additions or new construction are reviewed to insure proper design and individuality, while protecting each neighborhood from extreme designs not in architectural harmony with the rest of the community. Why it Matters: The current plan before the Board of Directors requests the subdivision of the approximate half acre corner lot on Bellows Lane and Manhasset Woods Road (currently unimproved land) into two approximate quarter acre parcels on which to build two spec houses. The block on which this parcel sits consists of lot sizes no less than approximately one-third of an acre (with corner lots typically larger). Subdivision of this lot will be a detriment to all residents as the construction of two houses on smaller lots will not be in architectural harmony with the surrounding homes. Two structures crammed onto this one lot will be an eyesore that can never be removed if approval is granted. Manhasset Woods Road is a thoroughfare which most Munsey Park residents travel to get to Northern Boulevard or Park Avenue. Please join us in opposing the subdivision to preserve look and feel of Munsey Park that we as a community have long fought to maintain. Thank you for your time, Concerned Munsey Parkers

  • SMCM Staff: Ms. Elsie
Ms. Elsie was a delight to have on campus. This was more than a job for her, she took pride in her work and cared for the students in a way that few housekeepers on campus do. She greeted students and asked about their day, actually caring to listen to the answer. She always made sure students had the supplies they needed. We ask that her status at the college be reconsidered for reasons stated above. Furthermore, because she was fired “with cause” we worry about the effect on her future in terms of employment opportunities and/or unemployment compensation. Because she was such a great worker, and person, we care as students of St. Mary's College of Maryland about her well being the same way she cared for ours.
