Do not allow Central Expressway (US 75) to be named after George W. Bush.State Representative Dan Branch has introduced House Bill 3520 which would rename 7 miles of US 75, or Central Expressway, in honor of George W Bush. Central is the main artery from downtown to the suburbs, named after the former railroad line that ran between downtown and historic Deep Ellum. To rename this historic stretch of road after a president who has done little if anything significant for this city ignores our local history and compromises our integrity. W may live here now, but he does not represent our fair city. Sign this petition to preserve our cultural history and keep Central Expressway as is.19,306 of 20,000 SignaturesCreated by Harold Carmichael III

Woodmont Commons Traffic and NoiseAs you know, Woodmont Orchards and the wooded area along Hovey Road are in the process of being developed. This future development as well as exit 4A WEST, if it is built, have great potential to significantly increase traffic and noise within our neighborhoods. Unfortunately, the study areas of the Traffic Impact Assessment DID NOT include surrounding neighborhoods, like Wedgewood Drive.13 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Virginia Landry

Opposition to Elkhart Sewer CompactWe oppose The City of Elkhart Sewer Compact Agreeemnt that uses Assessed Property Value in determining the fee businesses outside the city limits must pay for sewer service the City of Elkhart provides. Businesses outside the city limits should NOT be required to pay a fee that is more than three (3) times the actual sewer fee the business would pay if they resided inside the city limits.33 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Michael Pangburn

Stop Traffic Congestion - TJ MAXX development - PLN2012-00117The traffic on Redwood Road and Jamison Way will be negatively affected with the development of this project. Local residents and shoppers will be affected with greater traffic, cars backed up blocking intersections and driveways, and dangerous left-hand turns will be required to access the shopping center from both Redwood and Jamison. The safety of elderly pedestrians as well as families with young children and pets in the area will be jeopardized. Parking in the Village will only be increased by 41 spaces, half of which will likely go to employees of the TJ MAXX. The parking lot is already congested and inconvenient; consequently, many patrons and employees of the Village will choose to park along Jamison, a residential street already lacking parking. The parking issues, traffic impact, danger and inconvenience likely to be caused to the area have not been properly addressed in the current proposal approved by the Castro Valley MAC.72 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Amanda Vitello

Support the Social Security SystemPayments made to the Social Security System to withdraw from when wage-earners retire are not "entitlements". Entitlements are actually those expenses that NO ONE paid into. Support President Obama's position on this issue!3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Wfp

Overturn the BAR restriction of porches in the OVHDThe Old Village Historic District Commission guidelines and town ordinance includes porches in the BAR (Building Area Ratio) Requirement for allowable square footage for homes in the Old Village Historic District. The BAR ordinance should be amended because it puts an unnecessary restriction on builders and homeowners in the OVHD. When designing a home people shouldn't have to choose between a bedroom for a child and a front and/or back porch. Porches don't make houses look overly large. Porches are cherished places and historically they are the "ubiquitous feature of the Old Village." Therefore, the Town of Mt. Pleasant should embrace porches as welcome additions especially on Old Village homes. Old Village residents should be encouraged to have porches, not discouraged from them. No other town in the Southeast restricts porches. So let's face it; it's absurd that the OVHDC has this restriction in their BAR ordinance and it needs to be fixed.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Alison Guerriere

Allow parking permits for two-hour meters for downtown employeesThe lack of parking for downtown employees is causing massive debt and legal problems for the workers who keep our downtown businesses alive. There should be more easily accessible parking for downtown employees.109 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Jen Nickels

Stop the assault on the Florida Retirement SystemThe Florida Retirement System is stable and healthy, but Governor Rick Scott and the Republicans want to close the system to new enrollees. The long-term fiscal viability will be undermined for no good reason. Dismantling FRS would have a huge impact on Florida's economy.2 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Janet Reynolds
