• Amend the Washington Discover Pass for Rafters
Rafters entering the river system in Idaho or Oregon coming out at Heller Bar after being on the water several days should not have to be subjected to the expensive parking fee at Heller Bar. There should be fee, I agree, but the absence of pay phones, no cell service or wifi, no security and the lack of clean, stocked restrooms there, make the high fee ridiculous. The annual fee is 35.00, and river rafting can be a dangerous sport. Please reexamine this fee for out of state folks that DO NOT WANT the annual pass but need to have their cars delivered earlier JUST IN CASE they need to come out early.

  • Protect Low Income and Middle Income Americans
Nevadans need to support all U.S. Senators; U.S. House of Representatives; President Barach Obama; all Nevada State legislature members that support a balanced budget in Nevada and in the U.S. Congress that protects low and middle income families; senior citizens; disabled people; and children! They need to protect Medicare; Medicaid; Food Stamps; WIC; Headstart; Student Loans; Veterans benefits; HUD low income housing; job training; infrastructure investment in our highways, bridges, roads, schools, teachers, policeman, and fireman. This sounds like a tall order but there are billions of dollars that can be saved and used to pay for the above benefits by closing tax loopholes on the wealthiest Americans and Corporations. All businesses sending jobs out of America should have their profits taxed higher than businesses that keep jobs in America! My husband and I live in HUD low income Senior housing in Henderson, Nevada. We live on my Clark County, Nevada PERS pension and our Social Security benefits. My husband is a Vietnam Veteran. I am on Medicare and Medicaid and Food Stamps. We need to take care of our most vulnerable Americans; not the wealthiest Americans and Corporations! Ed and Lois Denaut, Henderson, Nevada

  • Petition against 14th Avenue name change to Dr. Ephirim Williams Avenue
I have been a resident of 14th Avenue in Sacramento for over 30 years and would consider this steet name change a great financial burden and inconvenience as I would have to inform banks, creditors, insurance companies, friends and family. The cause to change 14th Avenue is not great enough as we all contribute to make our community better.

  • Hands Off Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid Benefits!
Cuts to Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid benefits would impact the most vulnerable among us. Let's stand up for seniors, veterans, the disabled, and future generations of Americans, and protect these hard-earned benefits -- instead of continued tax breaks for billionaires and Wall Street. It’s not enough to voice opposition to such cuts. We want Representative Huffman to sign the Grayson-Takano letter, making a firm commitment to vote against any cuts. The letter reads, in part, "We write to let you know that we will vote against any and every cut to Medicare, Medicaid or Social Security benefits." We ask Rep. Huffman to join the 28 members of Congress who have signed the letter: Brown, Cartwright, Castor, Clay, Conyers, D. Davis, DeFazio, Ellison, Faleomavaega, Grayson, G. Green, Grijalva, Gutierrez, A. Hastings, Honda, Kaptur, Lee, Lynch, C. Maloney, Markey, McGovern, Nadler, Napolitano, Nolan, Serrano, Takano, Velazquez, and Waters.

  • Don’t cut services for people with special needs in New York. Restore the 6%.
The Governor’s proposed budget reduces monies for the Office of People with Developmental Disabilities by more than 7% from the 2012 level and imposes a 6% rate cut on non-profit service providers who care for those with special needs- at a cost far below when the state provides the services directly. At the same time, Albany leadership is considering at least $700 million in new tax cuts. The Assembly and the Senate proposed budgets would restore the 6% ($120 million which triggers an equal federal match). Public reports indicate that the Governor will accept the tax cuts but resists restoring the 6%.

  • NJ Transit Service Problems
This petition is about the out-of-hand service problems with NJ Transit trains and buses. The person at NJ Transit headquarters are adversed to addressing blanket situations which continue to grow and get worse, and are only willing to take individual complaints which have been ineffective. The agency overall has spent more money on image and advertising then proper service facilities and eqiptment. The system is being run poorly to the point where it is affecting the quality of life for many New Jerseyans.
