  • SAVE SOCIAL SECURITY FROM CUTS
Too many politicians have been trying to promote the idea that Social Security has been a "primary" driver to raising the National Debt. Nothing could be further from the truth! As a person who has worked since age 14 at age 53 I was told to stop working by doctors due to a chronic medical condition. This has made me, like so many elderly and disabled, dependant on small monthly checks to survive.

  • need for street lights on route 1
I drive to work every morning via route 1 starting near painters crossing going towards Kennett Square. There isn't a day where there is't something in the road and the possibility of a dear crossing this street. It is so dark that these things are hard to see with out the use of high beams. Which can not be done with on coming traffic. I have noticed only one street lamp on my morning travel. I think it would be best for the safety of every one traveling this busy road for there to be more lighting added. Thanks for your time

  • Leave my social security alone
Social Security is a contract of trust enforced by mandatory payments into the fund over a persons working lifetime. To break this trust is to steal from all of us.

  • Congressmen Sarbanes and Ruppersberger: Stand up for Social Security
Even though Social Security has nothing to do with the budget deficit, Republicans insist on adopting chained CPI, a new formula for inflation increases in benefits. It is just a disguised attempt to reduce Social Security benefits. The current formula already fails to take account of the real inflationary expenses that face seniors: utilities and health care. The new formula will further penalize people who can ill afford these cuts. And the only reason for the cuts is to reduce taxes for the wealthy. Senators Mikulski & Cardin and Congressman Cummiings have publicly stated their opposition to any deals that contain this disguised cut.. But Congressmen Sarbanes & Ruppersberger have failed to do so.

  • Protect Our Social Safety Nets
President Obama promised to raise taxes on the wealthies 2 percent and not cut social security, medicare and medicaid. Cutting these programs will not reduce the deficit and will hurt seniors and the most vulnerable people in our society. These cuts are also unnecessary and will not reduce the deficit. The majority of Americans are against these cuts.
