• Do not Cut Social Security Increases!
I am 55 and disabled and need every penny. I get a raise and Medicare premiums go up, and now a reduction in the pay raise too! Please do not punish us for electing Mr. Obama. I guarantee if my benefits are cut, I will vote the other party, down the line. Stop messing with the seniors and the disabled.

  • Tell the Senate to pass immediate recovery funding for communities ravaged by Superstorm Sandy
Superstorm Sandy damaged over 650,000 homes, 427,000 businesses and created severe hardships for hundreds of thousands of families. The U.S. Senate is currently debating a $60.4 billion aid bill to rebuild communities devastated by Superstorm Sandy. It’s expected that the U.S. House of Representatives will debate a similar bill in the coming weeks. These funds need to be appropriated as quickly as possible. Without immediate and adequate assistance from the Federal government the devastation will deepen for the families and communities that have already suffered.

  • Protect Social Security!

  • Stop the proposed cuts to our social security
My husband and I are retired. I got sick with a chronic illness, and we lost everything to my medical expenses. My husband is 70 and still has to work part-time as a plumber to pay for my expensive medicine even though I have Medicare and Part D. We are not on SSI, and we struggle to get by. We cannot endure a cut to our meager Social Security.

  • Protect Social Security
Cuts or reductions in Social Security benefits or benefit cost of living increases will have a negative effect on my ability to pay the rising costs of food, gas, and about everything else.

  • Stop making cuts to Social Security and Medicare
Cutting the income of Social Security beneficiaries and increasing the cost of medical services to the same beneficiaries puts our most vunerable citizens at risk. I have been affected because I now have to live with one of my adult children instead of living on my own. How can you justify cutting taxes for people who are in the top 2% income when your poorest are barely surviving?

  • Saving Social Security and Medicare/Medicaid
Presently, Payroll contributions to Social Security is capped at 110k income annually. This makes no sense. All income levels should contribute, with a percentage of these additional funds earmaked for Medicare and Medicaid.

  • Tell Senators Lieberman and Blumenthal: Don't buckle on the Fiscal Showdown
Over the past decade, many Americans have seen their income fall, have lost jobs and have fallen into poverty. Meanwhile, the wealth of the top 2% has skyrocketed, thanks, in large part, to huge tax cuts. Republicans are trying to hold the middle class hostage during the fiscal negotiations in exchange for providing millionaires and billionaires with another tax break. Enough! It's time for the top 2% to pay their fair share so we can protect our social safety net. There is no "cliff" on December 31; the economy won't collapse overnight. Senator Lieberman has stated that he is willing to consider cuts to essential services such as social security/medicare/medicaid during the negotiations; and Senator Blumenthal has yet to make a firm commitment. This is unacceptable.

  • Don't Cut Social Security!
I am a volunteer Senior Peer Counselor with the Sonoma County Community-Family Services Agency. The seniors who we serve are barely making it on their social security allowance, now. To cut this would effect them harshly. We seniors don't need to be treated this way. PLEASE DON'T CUT SOCIAL SECURITY OR MEDICARE BENEFITS!!

  • Don't Cut Social Security
Millions of Americans depend on Social Security Benefits for basic survival. As Americans, we have ALL paid into those benefits and have a right to them. My dad worked hard all his life, ran an honest business (when others in his field were cheating customers and making way more money), paid in to Social Security from his very first job on through his retirement. Now when he's 89 years old he should be allowed his FULL Social Security Benefits WITHOUT cuts. He, and thousands of other Americans, are ENTITLED to them. Don't allow Social Security Benefit cuts now or ever.

  • President Obama: Save Social Security
Please save Social Security cuts. There are millions of senior citizens who's only income is Social Security. We barely make it on the money we get now, and if you cut our Social Security there will be hundreds, maybe millions of seniors who would be homeless. Please do not cut social security benefits.

  • MR. PRESIDENT: DON'T CUT SOCIAL SECURITY BENEFITS
My husband and I are SENIOR CITIZENS and you promised us that you would not put Social Security on the table to balance the budget. We believed in you and now you are betraying us because you won't stand up to those inconsiderate Republicans. How are we supposed to live if you cut our benefits? It is hard enough to live off of what we are receiving now. Please listen to our pleas.
