NOTE!!! YOU MUST SIGN WITH YOUR FIRST AND LAST NAMES!!! The people of Eastern Oklahoma County, in order to protect our hard earned property, have determined to stand for our property rights in opposition to a proposed turnpike, the necessity of which has yet to be proven to the satisfaction of the residents of Eastern Oklahoma County. We are not willing to stand idly by and have our homes, farms, businesses, the very things we have spent our lives building, be replaced by an unnecessary turnpike.

  • Blight crisis in Detroit
My grandparents live at 8340 Central and they have since 1965. Their neighborhood looks like a war zone. When I was a kid, that community was thriving with big brick colonial houses. Now my grandmother is embarrassed by what has happened to her community over the years. No one should be a prisoner in her own home. Duggan said Detroit wasn't in the "demolition business." Why not?

  • Habitability Laws Must Be Enforced to Maintain a Decent Standard of Living for all Human Beings
Tenants rights have been violated regularly within the state of New Jersey and many other states with basically no assistance from the local or state watchdogs. There are many documented cases of abuses where the tenants are not protected within their municipalities, the state, and the superior court. Our rights must be protected to ensure that the habitability laws are enforced so that our lives are protected from unscrupulous landlords/slumlords who have no regard for human life or condition.

  • Prince Georges County Homelessness
Several times I have assisted individuals to try to get a place to live in the Prince Georges County, Maryland with no success. For the 6,000 homeless, there are only two transitional houses that only hold 18 people. Something has to be fixed to resolve this issue.

  • Allow Supportive Housing Residents to Go to School!
Community Housing Partnership believes that people who are in supportive housing have the right to jobs, housing, and a better future. Obtaining a higher education is a pathway out of poverty for many. Yet current IRS regulations are a barrier to full-time study if you live in Supportive Housing.

  • BLACK COMMUNITY DEMANDS COMMUNITY BENEFITS AGREEMENT ORDINANCE IN PITTSBURGH, PA
The Most Liveable City in the United States, Pittsburgh, PA means everyone except the poor and African American residents of the City. Disparity rates are the highest in the country on every level. It is time we as the people begin to fight for our rights. As the City of Pittsburgh concentrates in urban revitalization; with all of the development taking place throughout the City, it is noted that there is no protection of residents' rights within the strategies of re-development. There is no clear plan of economic revitalization for the residents of the most vulnerable populations that reside in the most livable city in the United States, the City of Pittsburgh. With multi millions of dollars planned for development, it is vital that disparity rates be addressed. One critical way to address it is by the creation of a Community Benefits Ordinance for the City of Pittsburgh. This Ordinance or Law will reinforce and set in place contractual binding agreements that requires community participation at all tables when it comes to development dollars, financial packages and tax incentives/abatements created for revitalization of the urban communities, and that our participation is required at all levels and planning stages.

  • Keep the Farley Station Post Office Open!!!
By closing the local post office, the Postal Service is putting undue hardship on the elderly residents of the surrounding communities. The post office is the heartbeat of the community, it serves a great need in the area, and closing it would go against the whole premise of strengthening communities. Closing a post office marks certain doom for surrounding neighborhoods, and decay of the area. Please do not close our local Farley Station Post Office, located at 3621 NW 16th St, Oklahoma City, OK 73107, we need our post office and the sense of community it creates.

  • Close Mauch's RV Park
The purpose of the petition is to compel the County government of Pacific County Washington to close Mauch's Sundowner RV Park by revoking or denying the licenses that enable the Park to operate. A historically significant parcel at or near sites once occupied by the Lewis and Clark Corps of Discovery Expedition, the park is situated on the Washington side of the Astoria-Megler Bridge near the mouth of the Columbia River. The park has existed in dilapidated conditions (please see www.closemauchsrvpark.com) for years as a nuisance property that promotes conditions adverse to the public good and hazards the health, safety and general welfare of the community.

  • Repeal Tennessee's new SNAP Benefits Criteria
Starting in 2016, persons between the ages of 18-49 in the state of Tennessee that are not working, in a specific school, or volunteering are not eligible for food stamps except for three months in a three-year cycle. Legislators did not fully comprehend or take into consideration the following: Tennessee has limited mass transit. Most of the state has no public transportation. Farms and farmers that work for no pay to produce crops are not considered working. In fact, farmers work harder to supply local grocery stores with produce, meat, and products all year round. Farming is not work. Jobs are not readily available as this is a right to work state which means they have a right not to hire you as well. You must have transportation to get anywhere and not all families or individuals have personal transportation or access to transportation. Those with health problems are not exempt. Many people have health issues and this state does not consider that. Family members that are caretakers are not exempt. Many people depend on family members for care from feeding and bathing to medication home dialysis administration. Care taking is a full time job. WIA programs are not always available or accessible. Certain schools at certain times have WIA classes. Not all locations are accessible and many are far from residences at unreasonable distances with no guarantee that the sacrifice and hardship will get you a job. Volunteering requires transportation and a compatible organization. Based on volunteering for religious organizations, not all religious affiliations have open volunteering opportunities. Some are closed. You need transportation to accomplish all these things. Yet Tennessee has no mass transit infrastructure except in major cities such as Knoxville, Chattanooga, Nashville, and Memphis. All other locations are rural with no access. It is fact that those people in the age bracket, which is a good population of the state, will go hungry and food banks depleted based on current criteria for SNAP benefits. They will be the only place for individuals and young families to eat and get a week's worth of goods per month. We the people of the state of Tennessee demand that this unjust, unfair criteria be repealed immediately and the legislators stop harming the population of our state.

  • Disabled Veterans' Spouse and Dependents Stipend Increase
Many spouses and dependents of disabled veterans rated 30% and higher must give extra care to their veterans due to physical and or mental handicaps. Spousal and dependents' stipends paid to disabled veterans need to be increased to a higher percentage of spousal-dependents' stipend amount. I am sure that I along with many other disabled veterans believe our spouses and dependents deserve more for their loyalty and dedication to care for us veterans.
