• Close Mauch's RV Park
The purpose of the petition is to compel the County government of Pacific County Washington to close Mauch's Sundowner RV Park by revoking or denying the licenses that enable the Park to operate. A historically significant parcel at or near sites once occupied by the Lewis and Clark Corps of Discovery Expedition, the park is situated on the Washington side of the Astoria-Megler Bridge near the mouth of the Columbia River. The park has existed in dilapidated conditions (please see www.closemauchsrvpark.com) for years as a nuisance property that promotes conditions adverse to the public good and hazards the health, safety and general welfare of the community.

  • Repeal Tennessee's new SNAP Benefits Criteria
Starting in 2016, persons between the ages of 18-49 in the state of Tennessee that are not working, in a specific school, or volunteering are not eligible for food stamps except for three months in a three-year cycle. Legislators did not fully comprehend or take into consideration the following: Tennessee has limited mass transit. Most of the state has no public transportation. Farms and farmers that work for no pay to produce crops are not considered working. In fact, farmers work harder to supply local grocery stores with produce, meat, and products all year round. Farming is not work. Jobs are not readily available as this is a right to work state which means they have a right not to hire you as well. You must have transportation to get anywhere and not all families or individuals have personal transportation or access to transportation. Those with health problems are not exempt. Many people have health issues and this state does not consider that. Family members that are caretakers are not exempt. Many people depend on family members for care from feeding and bathing to medication home dialysis administration. Care taking is a full time job. WIA programs are not always available or accessible. Certain schools at certain times have WIA classes. Not all locations are accessible and many are far from residences at unreasonable distances with no guarantee that the sacrifice and hardship will get you a job. Volunteering requires transportation and a compatible organization. Based on volunteering for religious organizations, not all religious affiliations have open volunteering opportunities. Some are closed. You need transportation to accomplish all these things. Yet Tennessee has no mass transit infrastructure except in major cities such as Knoxville, Chattanooga, Nashville, and Memphis. All other locations are rural with no access. It is fact that those people in the age bracket, which is a good population of the state, will go hungry and food banks depleted based on current criteria for SNAP benefits. They will be the only place for individuals and young families to eat and get a week's worth of goods per month. We the people of the state of Tennessee demand that this unjust, unfair criteria be repealed immediately and the legislators stop harming the population of our state.

  • Disabled Veterans' Spouse and Dependents Stipend Increase
Many spouses and dependents of disabled veterans rated 30% and higher must give extra care to their veterans due to physical and or mental handicaps. Spousal and dependents' stipends paid to disabled veterans need to be increased to a higher percentage of spousal-dependents' stipend amount. I am sure that I along with many other disabled veterans believe our spouses and dependents deserve more for their loyalty and dedication to care for us veterans.

  • Public Homeless Shelter Option for Lane County
Given the long term nature of the homelessness crisis in Lane County, we need government to commit resources for emergency shelter needs. It is neither efficient, logical or ethical to expect community volunteers acting in an emergency situation to meet the urgent, sustained needs without a public homeless shelter option.

  • Douglas County, Colorado: Adhere To The 2035 Master Plan
Please sign regardless of the state you live in. The goal is to get national attention. Douglas County, CO has a state-mandated, tax-payer-funded Master Plan that is supposed to be in effect until 2035. The County Commissioners have overthrown the will of the people to approve at least (2) dense developments by rezoning. These decisions were outside of the basic guidelines of the Master Plan and were against the will of the citizens who voiced their opposition to the developments at public hearings. Douglas County is now preparing to rezone agricultural land on Hilltop Road for more dense development. The heavy development in Douglas County is congesting our communities, destroying Colorado's natural beauty and wildlife, and is depleting the limited-resource aquifers. The depletion of the aquifers will eventually leave the land scarred and worthless within approximately 100 years. This is being done so a few developers can make large profits without regard for land and water preservation and the local citizens. Our County Commissioners are paid to be public servants. When they overthrow the will of the people and the Master Plan, they become dictators. Please protect citizens' rights to steward and preserve our local communities by signing this petition. Thank you for your support.

  • 94903 community calls for a moratorium on high-density development
Traffic problems are ignored. Traffic solutions are delayed. Congestion is impassible! Schools are not properly funded. Jobs are replaced by high-density luxury housing. Water supplies are limited and increasingly costly. Endangered species are extinct here. Autism and asthma have doubled in 20 years. Lower income neighborhoods are scheduled for “redevelopment” as luxury housing. 83% of subsidized housing in unincorporated Marin County is slated for 94903. Subsidized housing is relegated to freeway and heavy diesel freight train routes. Light, views, and privacy are impacted. Politicians are violating Housing Element and General Plan provisions without explanation.

We are asking for legislators to lead WSDOT to make these changes to the I-405 Express Toll Lanes: 1. Eliminate the need for a FlexPass to be a carpool in the ETL 2. Eliminate all tolling and restore I-405 ETL to standard 2+ carpool lanes. 3. Eliminate the double lines and allow drivers the freedom to enter/exit those lanes as they see the need. 4. Allow all drivers to use the carpool lanes for free during late night hours as it was before. These changes will result in: 1. Increased participation in carpools 2. Better utilization of all 5 lanes of traffic while still meeting performance goals for the Federal funding 3. Improved overall drive times for everyone at all times, regardless of the distance they are traveling, their ability to be a carpool or their ability to pay the toll 4. Increased safety 5. Increased public satisfaction 6. Lower operating costs of the highway

  • Recreating Livable Orphanages and Transitionary Housing for America's Homeless and Refugees
Human life is valuable. Our top priority in this life is to preserve the sanctity of it, and maintain a valuable and meaningful one for all those we are able to help. Helping our own citizens, and integrating others into our melting pot is what this country is founded on. As a first world country, it is our responsibility to help those that we can. If we do not ease some of the burden of refugee acceptance from Europe, we will create enemies. Refugee families who do not receive help when Europe's borders close, and they will close, may consider joining Isis just to survive. They will have no other choice. We can create more worldwide allies by doing our duty.

  • Tell Governor Christie: Protect New Jersey's Drinking Water
New Jersey could face a water crisis similar to California if the Christie administration doesn’t act now. Counties across the state are rationing water, and water supplies in parts of Cape May and Cumberland counties are contaminated with salt water. Groundwater supplies are being depleted across the state. New Jersey’s population is growing, and we’ll need more drinking water in years to come. Yet the policies that ensure we have the water we need haven’t been updated in nearly two decades. It’s unacceptable that the state has not taken action to ensure clean drinking water for everyone. Governor Christie must release the state Water Supply Master Plan now. Without this plan, New Jersey can’t address our aging water infrastructure and plan for the demands that are being placed on our precious water. Add your name to tell Governor Christie to prevent a water crisis similar to what’s happening in California, and approve a new Water Supply Master Plan.
