We want the youth voices to be heard in our San Francisco community, noticed, and cared about. There isn't a space for this type of free speech anymore. SFPD has expressed their support for a program like this, as well as dedication to creating change in the community and our lives. Reinstating a youth forum program would be very beneficial to teenagers all over San Francisco, helping to create better relationships between the community and the police force.

The Communication Workers of America are on strike as they stand up to the greed and immoral behavior of Vernizon and it's leaders. It's no secret that the CEO of Verizon, Lowell McAdam, makes an obscene amount of money. He wants to continue his greedy ways by firing and intimidating his workers, slashing their benefits, and shipping jobs overseas. We can't strike with the CWA, but we can surely vote with our dollars. This petition requires Verizon to create a fair contract with CWA and start treating their workers (our fellow Americans) with the dignity and respect they deserve. If they fail to do this in a timely manner, we will cancel our cell phone, home phone and Internet services with Verizon. It's a small price to pay in order to stand up to corporate greed. What CWA is asking for is not unreasonable. In fact, it's the right thing to do. Here's why they are on strike: CWA is on strike because they'll do whatever it takes to create a better workplace for their workers and those that follow. They're standing together to make sure the needs of working families are met, instead of standing by as a handful of individuals get richer and richer. They're standing together because Verizon has fired, threatened, and intimidated working people at Verizon Wireless who are trying to create a better future for themselves and their families. They're standing together because they want to earn a living in their own communities instead of moving away from their homes and families for months at a time. They want good jobs to stay in the United States, not be sent overseas. The State of Hawaii is not doing its job to uphold the Doctrine of Public Trust which guarantees public access rights to this historic trail running along the coast of Kauai. The trail is owned in fee simple by the State of Hawaii. Illegal, unpermitted fences and barricades have gone up by land owners Patricia Hanwright, the Wilcox family, and others which block the public from using this trail. These land owners are attempting to privatize this large stretch of Kauai's coastline by taking the public trail, which does not belong to them. Persons attempting to use the trail have been harassed and threatened. We are asking that the State of Hawaii immediately take steps to assert its fee simple ownership of this trail AND to guarantee perpetual public access to it.

While Republicans across the country flock to support Donald Trump’s candidacy, The Tampa Bay Times recently reported that Republican Senate hopefuls Carlos Lopez-Cantera and David Jolly remain “undecided” on whether they can support Donald Trump. If Carlos Lopez-Cantera and David Jolly do not declare unequivocally that they will not vote for Donald Trump, then they are in support of Donald Trump’s campaign and candidacy. It is unacceptable for politicians like Carlos Lopez-Cantera and David Jolly to remain silent on whether they support one of the most xenophobic presidential candidates in our country’s history.
