My best friend attends Newman School in Boston MA. She was very excited to dye THE TIPS of her hair blue because she loves the color and it's therapeutic. Newman won't let her. I know dying my hair is therapeutic and is a way for me to express myself. If kids are forced to wear uniforms there should not be rules against other self expression.

I am 76 years old, with many health issues, the cost of everything is skyrocketing, yet a retired person's pay remains static. What was once just enough, is no longer; the medical costs, prescriptions, and trips to doctors and hospitals are such that you sometimes chose between buying food or medication. Most of us have worked as long as we can. I worked 50 years, retiring at 70+ because I knew that retirement would mean a huge cut in income and a constant increase in medical expenses. Please do not take from those who can least afford to pay.

If these allegations against Exxon are true, then Exxon’s actions were immoral. We request the DOJ to investigate whether ExxonMobil’s actions were also illegal. ”

Did you know that meals served at prisons are actually more nutritious than the ones served at the average American high school? For many students, school meals are the only meals they receive all day. Childhood obesity is a big problem in the United States, and providing more nutritious meals at school will be a large step towards the solution. Something awful is brewing in Trenton. New Jersey Democratic legislators are considering a terrible bargain with Republicans that would give NJ’s wealthiest (another) tax cut, raise taxes on working families, and blow a hole in our finances. The basics: Republicans would agree to hike the gas tax to fix NJ’s crumbling roads and bridges, but ONLY IF Democrats agree to cut or eliminate NJ's inheritance and estate taxes. Gov. Chris Christie recently called this ridiculous proposal 'tax fairness.' But while everyone would pay for a gas tax, just one in ten estates is subject to the estate and inheritance taxes. Most of the revenue comes from estates of $1 million or more. This plan would be Robin Hood in reverse: raising taxes on working families while delivering yet another tax cut to the wealthy. We expect tax cuts for the rich and tax hikes for the rest from Republicans. The really scary part is that Democrats may go along with this awful scheme – unless we act now.

Many of my remaining family members live in Eastern Kentucky and for decades have experienced the destruction of forests, animal habitats, streams and people's physical and mental health deteriorate as a result of deep and strip mining coal removal to the last ton. Now entire mountain tops are removed with little or no environmental damage assessment. Ancient peaks of exposed rock formations destroyed while potentially releasing ancient bacteria and molds further exacerbating human health.
