The Democratic power brokers proved they are in Wall Street's back pocket today, when Clinton campaign operative, Senator Claire McCaskill, began red-baiting presidential candidate Bernie Sanders, urging media to call him "a socialist" and calling Sander's ideas extreme. Sander's ideas of expanding Social Security and Healthcare and increasing the minimum wage, are ALL things the American people want in polls. Sounds like the pro-Wall Street Clinton operatives are the extreme ones.

It is the right thing to do. We have got to teach practicing bigots that this type of attitude will not be tolerated.

It is understood that while marijuana has been essentially illegal since 1937, the prohibition of this plant has not worked. There have been studies done that prove it has medical uses, if it didn't then the synthetic drug Marinol would not exist. It has also been proven that in recreational use it does less harm than alcohol. Please look at how much our government spends on trying to fight something that is of no threat to our society. Realize how many other ways that money could be spent to make this a stronger country. Also, look into how much more money the country would make through taxation, as it does with alcohol and tobacco. Also we can reduce the the drug trade and hurt their profits. We can use hemp for a variety of things like paper, plastic, fuel, ropes, etc. Don't be afraid to stand up and say this to your fellow politicians. We, your constituents, are asking you to do this for us and for our country.

For too many kids, summer vacation means no classes, no homework -- and no source of food they can count on every day. More than 30 million children in the U.S. rely on school lunch programs during the school year. Yet once school lets out, only one out of every 10 kids who rely on school lunches get help from programs like the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP). Now some in Congress are on the verge of cutting these programs even further. Congress must decide soon whether to strengthen or cut these programs. The National Commission on Hunger, a bipartisan congressional committee tasked with advising Congress on how to combat hunger, is holding hearings around the country to get input. It's the best shot we have to continue childhood nutrition programs that are essential to fighting hunger. These programs can help alleviate hunger for the 16 million children -- or 1 in every 5 -- who struggle to find a steady source of meals. Cutting these programs would mean millions of empty stomachs. Strengthening these programs would help fill them. And when kids have enough to eat, they have a better shot at a decent life. It's that simple. We are very saddened by the tragic deaths of our fellow community members. They were so loving and dedicated to our community and are amazing example of what Charleston, South Carolina is all about. We are the Holy City and we are a unified city where we look out and love one another. Their deaths did not occur in vain. They all inspired us to be better people and to be a strong and caring community. Instead of this tragedy dividing us as intended, it unified us as never before. Our undying love for our city and humanity over-poured as we celebrated their lives and honored their legacy in Charleston, South Carolina. They were all amazing examples of how Charlestonians, South Carolinians, and Americans should be and live. I am petitioning we honor their lives in an exemplary way by renaming the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Bridge to the Mother Emanuel Unity Bridge. I urge the South Carolina legislature to take this into consideration at their next session in order to honor the lives of these inspiring people in Charleston, South Carolina. Thank you!

There is a large piece of land contaminated in my community that could not be used for over 30 years. Fines and excuses do not stop the problem from reoccuring. New consequences must push for a higher standard operating procedure.

President Obama recently announced that he would send 450 more American service members to Iraq. They will join the 3,000 troops already there, risking their lives in a sectarian civil war that has no U.S. military solution. Republican war hawks in Congress and on the campaign trail are calling for a massive escalation in U.S. troops being sent to Iraq. Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), who is also running for President, has called for 10,000 troops to be sent back to Iraq. Others have called for even more. This petition is about the uses of hemp or marijuana . Personally yes I have been affected by this law . I've been charged with possession (I am not guilty) but it still doesn't make since . Even if I did have it on me that doesn't mean I'm a criminal . I could've been in jail for something that isn't harmful and hasn't caused any deaths so far recorded and the substance has been here longer than any of us. Come on peanuts have killed more people than hemp / maijuanna has thats 200 deaths per year to 0 deaths at all . Legalize it !

Huge and tremendously good news: The U.S. Supreme Court preserved Obamacare in a stunning 6-3 decision in the case of King v. Burwell! This means that no one will lose health care—or their lives—because of a partisan, ideological lawsuit based on only four words. While observers hoped for a win, few expected that Obamacare would be saved by such a resounding majority, or that the majority would protect the law from future sabotage by a Republican presidential administration. Twice Republicans have tried to defeat Obamacare in the Supreme Court, and failed. Dozens of times they have tried to dismantle it, and been defeated. Even now, the party's 2016 standard-bearers are rushing to promise they will repeal it completely, over the objections of most Americans. But we're not going to let that happen. Right now, we have a huge opportunity to tip the scales of public debate and make Republicans pay a price for their radical desire to rob millions of their health care, and we need to speak out.

The NRA should be transparent about the millions of dollars it is spending on political activities. It should not be dismissive about failing to disclose this substantial political spending on its tax forms. If the NRA refuses to abide by the law, then it is necessary for the proper authorities to hold the NRA accountable.
