Georgia hospitals need the funding allowed under the Affordable Care Act to care for sick and injured people. By not accepting the increased funding offered by Obamacare, millions of Georgians are negatively affected, hospitals are weakened, and many are closing or reducing services.

In some categories, it’s not good to be #1. It’s especially shameful to be #1 in school funding gaps. But it’s true that Pennsylvania has the most inequitable school funding in the country. Most of us know the problem already - school districts across the state have been underfunded for decades. More is being demanded of our children, but there are fewer and fewer resources to educate them. In some districts, we are losing arts, music, and reasonable class sizes. In other districts like Philadelphia, children have died during the school day without full-time nurses present. When we know there are enough resources to educate every child, our underfunded public school system indicates that Pennsylvania has a deep crisis of priorities. That’s why parents, students, teachers, and people of faith and conscience are standing up to say that enough is enough – our children can’t wait any longer for fully and fairly funding schools. Pennsylvanians are fed up with bare bones education spending. But after ousting former Governor Corbett and making promises to restore cuts, our newly elected Democratic Governor Tom Wolf is proposing just a small increase to school funding next year – only 15% of what experts say would fully fund our schools—and his plan perpetuates racial bias in the funding system from the previous administration. At the same time, he’s proposing major corporate tax cuts. Where, we ask, is Pennsylvania’s moral leadership? As the State Legislature deliberates about their own budget proposal, we are building a people-fueled movement that won’t settle for the myth of scarcity that there’s not enough money to fully fund schools. For decades in Pennsylvania, corporations have avoided paying billions in state taxes. We have one of the most regressive income tax systems in the country, with a corporate CEO paying the same income tax rate as a dishwasher. No – it’s not that there’s not enough money for schools. It’s that lawmakers across the aisle are catering to the greed and self-interest of the few instead of the needs of the many. Since March 23rd, clergy, parents, and whole faith communities across the state, across race, class, and religious lines, have been fasting to draw attention to the urgency of Pennsylvania’s ongoing school funding crisis. We’ll keep the fast up until June 30th, the deadline for the state budget. But we need your help too. The misuse of antibiotics on factory farms - routinely feeding antibiotics to healthy animals to boost profits and compensate for filthy living conditions - is threatening our public health. The vast majority (80%) of antibiotics sold in the U.S. are used on factory farms, which makes these life-saving medicines less effective when we really need them. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, 2 million people contract antibiotic-resistant infections each year, resulting in at least 23,000 deaths. Tell your council members to take a stand for public health by passing a resolution calling for a federal ban on the use of antibiotics for animals that are not sick!

The purpose of this petition is to adequately represent the concerns of neighbors in and around Lake Point, especially the neighbors who live on Adobe Ln. To that point, as a community, we are asking for a delay in the approval of the revised plat map for Lake Point Estates Phases 3-6 until further study can be done on the potential impact the revisions may pose to the community.

I care about my state. The governor is methodically harming all sectors of Illinois citizens who are unable to benefit from the perks he is providing to the top 1% in the state, as he dismantles the programs that help those who are truly vulnerable.

We are concerned that the majority in the US Congress are rushing headlong into a nuclear confrontation with Russia. We wish to avert a nuclear war with Russia.

Because of the lack of leadership and planning, the city of Baltimore is in a state of emergency. We have police hurt, businesses burned down, and youth put into the criminal system over this. Good leadership was not in place and could have saved the city and state millions of dollars.

As an outdoorsman, a dad, and an active member of the environmental community, I am tired of watching Governor Walker put the interests of a few ahead of the interests of the many. Wisconsin is a biological gem....I would like for my kids and their kids to think the same.

We agree with President Obama on many issues—but when it comes to trade, he's just plain wrong. The Trans-Pacific Partnership is a secretive agreement negotiated with corporate oversight while being blocked from public review. The TPP will impact 40% of the world's population and allow corporations to sue nations that enact progressive regulations. Yet President Obama wants Congress to give him "fast-track" authority that would strip lawmakers of the ability to change any provision in the agreement—forcing a high-pressure, up-or-down vote to approve. Unfortunately, the president has launched a bigger offensive to gain support for this job-killing agreement than he's done for any other issue throughout his presidency. He didn't push this hard for the public option, to get money out of politics, for immigration reform, or anything else. And he's even gone so far as to accuse Democrats opposed to him, especially Elizabeth Warren, of being "dishonest" and spreading "misinformation." President Obama has heralded the cause of economic populism himself recently, but the TPP is an affront to working Americans, to our climate, and to progressive values in general. The agreement would negate almost any progressive policies the president could achieve in his final years—and allow multinational corporations to object to regulations from future adminstrations. You could say that President Obama needs us right now—because too much is at risk for us to let him make this grave mistake. The general public deserves to review an agreement of this magnitude before any vote on fast-track legislation in Congress—for the sake of our economic well-being and, for those of us who care, for the sake of President Obama's positive legacy.

Senators Elizabeth Warren and Sherrod Brown have been at the forefront of the fight against the proposed Trans-Pacific Partnership trade deal—so much so that they were attacked repeatedly by the Obama Administration last week, being called "dishonest" and accused of spreading "misinformation" by President Obama himself. The TPP—which has been called "NAFTA on steroids"—is a trade agreement that could potentially affect 40% of the world economy. Progressives in the U.S. and around the world have been fighting it for years. And, years into the fight, the content of the deal is still being kept secret from the public. Now, TPP advocates are closer than ever to rushing this deal through Congress. Both houses of Congress could vote on what are called "fast track" bills in early May. If these pass, it would give lawmakers only 90 days for an up-or-down, yes-or-no vote to ratify the entire treaty—and take away any power to change its provisions. If President Obama wants the support of the American public and the progressive allies who helped elect him, he should make the text of the TPP available for public review before Congress votes to approve Fast Track authority. His predecessor George W. Bush made his trade agreement texts public—it's the least President Obama can do.
