The Penn Township Community Park at Sweetbriar Creek is a very nice attraction for the residents of Sweetbriar Creek and neighboring communities; however the park is greatly underutilized due to it not holding children’s attention that other parks do. The lack of swings is a common complaint among children in the area that visit this park. We respectfully request Penn Township fund the installation of high back full bucket swings (baby/toddler swings) and belt swings (older children swings) at Penn Township Community Park at Sweetbriar Creek within the next year using existing Township funds that are already in reserve for this purpose.

This is about centuries of officers murdering African American males unwarranted. Being stopped and harassed . Seeing that all those responsible are punished to the letter of the law. Yes I have been personally affected by this.

We are deeply concerned and reject the use of drone technology by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD). The acquisition of drones by the LAPD signifies a huge step forward in the militarization of local law enforcement. We live around the corner from this property, which was condemned by the City of Newnan in the fall of 2013 and should have been torn down (http://www.times-herald.com/local/20140708-Newnan-to-negotiate-for-second-entrance-to-Newnan-Centre). The previous owners were foreclosed and allowed squatters to live in the building without proper sanitation. New apartments are no longer allowed in RU-I zoned districts and the new owners are responsible to those zoning ordinances. The city planning department has already recommended denying the request and we believe that the BZA will do the same provided that the neighborhood shows that we not support the new owner’s request.

We wish to recognize Abduweli's contribution to the cause of linguistic and human rights, specifically, the right of members of ethnic minorities to the intergenerational transmission of language and culture. Like Abduweli, we believe that members of ethnic minorities have the right to teach their language, and that ethnic minority children have the right to receive an education in their native language.

Good public policy, like the construction of the critical Emergency Operations Center is being held hostage, orchestrated by Republican politicians. By seating Andy Paterna, a well respected and qualified member of our community, our municipal government can get back to work.

A dear friend Josephine Gurule, AKA Jojo, is innocent of the charges being brought against her by the state. The substandard representation she has been given by 3 Public Defenders and the tolerance of the Court are proof of the need for oversight.

Former Baltimore City police officer Alec Eugene Taylor killed his girlfriend's 7 month-old puppy Rocko for allegedly pooping on the carpet. He beat the dog, likely paralyzing him, then choked him until dead. It was later found that Rocko died from hemorrhage of the liver due to blunt-force trauma. After he killed Rocko, he texted his girlfriend a photo of the lifeless pup. As a part of the plea deal, the animal abuse charge was dropped; and it's likely that Alec Eugene Taylor will spend only 3 months in jail for this wanton murder of a puppy. An injustice has been ignored in the service of plea bargaining. A police officer has been allowed to commit a crime and not served the time that the crime demands had it been committed by a private citizen. Equal justice under the law applies to everyone equally; if anything, a police officer should be held to a higher standard.

This pipeline will directly affect my community! We all know that fracking is dangerous and environmentally destructive. We also hear about how pipelines are not inspected as much as they should be, so they leak. Just the building of these pipelines alone is damaging to ecologically sensitive areas (and, yes, this pipeline will affect such areas). It's time to tell our politicians to stop taking Big Oil's money and to invest in solar/wind energy and overall energy efficiency! We can't take anymore fossil fuel destruction! UPDATE!!! Fast friendly customer service, in a clean comfortable environment. And maybe, in the early going, the Company was that at one time BUT, not any longer! The Camden facility is wasting money that they claim they do not have for their workers to earn a fair wage. No pay raises for 2 yrs. Claiming their drivers are "the highest paid in the industry", while failing to realize the industry, as a whole, is underpaid!!! A new 55" flatscreen TV was bought & is collecting dust in the break room. New O.B.U. ( On Board Units ) were bought when there were O.B.U's already in the trucks. Company spent money on "drivecam"- Cameras mounted in vehicles to watch their employees behind the wheel. Many have been fired for "events" behind the wheel. Some justified, Many were not. New cell phones were bought when there were already cell phones in use. Also, Medical bennefits are getting worse every year. The District Manager said "benefits are based on a 55 hour work week". Many aren't working 55 hrs. per week to be able to afford healthcare. Not to mention Waste Management owed Wheelabrator was just sold for 1.94 BILLION dollars. Share holders & management are benefitting from major profits & squeezing their employees dry. Employees are the backbone of the company.

As a cyclist in Los Angeles this issue hits close to home. If a wealthy politically connected white man like Milt Olin can be run down with impunity by incompetent law enforcement, what hope is there for anyone else in this city? This deputy has shown in a very real and tragic way that people are incapable of driving while distracted, and doing so essentially weaponizes your vehicle.
