• Refine laws on stings
I read numerous articles on sting operations - they are growing to meet statistics on how many criminals are arrested. In a number of cases they are setting up the sting where it is a very fine line between enticement and not. They prey on certain profiles where left alone, they may have never become a criminal. We have the highest incarcerated population in the country. I am asking that laws be created where sting operations can only be set up on existing criminals. This ensures that the person has truly committed a crime at least once and not be convicted and imprisoned on a hypothetical crime. Law enforcement has gotten extremely good at the enticement game.

  • Community Council president Rose Funderburk: please help our residential area
This residential neighborhood has been saturated with vehicles parked by people who take the rail road and leave their vehicles for days, along with others who park for hours to shop and bank. There are also vehicles parked which are stolen and have been removed by the NYPD. This has been continuous for years and makes it extremely difficult for residents to live normally in this area. There are many children in this area who's parents feel are unsafe due to the speeding vehicles that drive threw. Their are also nonresidential vehicles parked in driveways blocking residents from moving their vehicles. Street signs and other measures need to be taken in order to prevent this from happening.

  • Allow Us Our First Amendment Rights, Allow DIscussion of Salary in the Workplace
By blocking bills allowing employees to discuss pay, and thus narrowing the pay gap, Congress is denying Americans their First Amendment rights. The government cannot pick and choose what aspects of speech we have a right to discuss. The government cannot choose which amendments it can be lax on, and which ones they are going to strictly enforce. All should be enforced equally, including the First.

  • Rep. Latta, Sen. Portmans, and Sen. Brown: Help save Lake Erie
I live in Toledo, Ohio. On August 2, 2014 two counties were issued with a water emergency. We were not allowed to drink our water supply because of the Algae in Lake Erie. Thousands of people were affected by this huge issue. That should never happen again. What are you going to do about it?

  • Smoking ban inside apartment and condo buildings
I am negatively effected by second hand smoke from my neighbors. I find right now there are no laws to protect my health. They are making a choice to smoke inside but non smokers have no choice in shared spaces.

  • Opposition to Hawaii Dairy Farms’ Industrial Dairy Proposal
We have concluded that above all else, the carrying capacity of Kauai's Maha'ulepu Valley cannot support an operation of HDF’s size. Indeed, it remains to be proven that the land can or should support a dairy of any size. This industrialized dairy is not compatible, sustainable nor appropriate agriculture use for Maha’ulepu. HDF’s proposed dairy poses serious environmental risks and health hazards which threaten Maha`ulepu’s beautiful and ecologically unique, and culturally significant, coastline. We agree that Hawaii must continue to make steps towards self-sufficiency, but these steps must be calculated to ensure the protection of our precious resources. An Environmental Assessment (EA) must be required.

  • Graffiti Vandalism
Graffiti is everywhere we turn. Our homes we work so hard for, our businesses, schools and our community are getting hit hard with all this graffiti. In this year alone graffiti has spiked up. If were driving in the freeways we all see the graffiti all over the walls. Its sad when you see people in their neighborhood painting over the graffiti on there wall over and over. Sure we can call 311 and have it cleaned up in 24-48 hours but what are we teaching these people, thats it's okay because there will be no disciplinary action against them. Some of this graffiti is occurring in plain daylight and nobody is reporting it because nothing is being done about it. We need to enforce graffiti units or undercover enforcement agencies to help crackdown on this kind of behavior and show our community and our youth that disciplinary action will be taken in effect if anyone gets caught tagging on private property. We need to all work as a community along with our mayor and law enforcement and help ensure that we can solve this problem.
