The My People Prison rent program created for released convicts is endangering the West End community and the rest of Hartford's quality of Life. Since the arrival of this prison rental system, theft...drugs...vandalism...and violence has increased due to the presence of the My People Prison rentals sponsored by DCF. Please support the closure of this program and return the use of these apartments for working, tax paying, responsible people.

A year ago my son was in an accident on the school bus and hit his head against the window. Today the bus was late, I called transportation and the driver overslept. My daughter called me and told me the driver was speeding..I said just relax it will be ok call me and let me know you made it there safely. Ten minutes my daughter calls me crying says that the drive ran a stop sign and hit another car.

Governor Pence's refusal to approve expansion of medicaid will result in higher prices for all of us in Specific Regions, and the effects of that can be viewed as a undue "Tax because of Indiana." Understanding that under the ACA, when insurance rates in Indiana are higher than surrounding states, it undermines all the benefits we could achieve between 2016 -2020. Therefor its reasonable in the minds minds of most, for Alliances and Coalitions in Indiana and surrounding States should support this petition. The ultimate reason to support this petition: Under the ACA as we promote preventative care, and as we become less ill, less often, its only normal that "routine Care (in or out patient Care) would decrease and for some completely end. We want the County of Santa Barbara to build enough residential treatment facilites with diverse services to eliminate the need for unjust incarceration for an estimated 150 persons in jail daily who have mental health disorders. Relocate these persons into residential treatment facilities! Save the County $3 Million per year spend on jail costs!

Law officials are constantly breaking the law whether it be police or judges even DA's. I am starting this petition so that once it's law corrupt law officials get a chance to see how it feels to have consequences like the rest of the American public.

They have also been shown to kill all types of cancer cells and cancer stem cells, repair damage to lungs caused by smoking, reverse damage to veins caused by diabetes, prevent macular degeneration, kill even antibiotic strains of Helicobacter pylori bacteria, prevent or slow the progression of osteoarthritis and much more. The quicker we change these regulations the better as thousands of Americans are currently dying and suffering needlessly. Personally, I am deeply moved to create this petition by the fact that my life has been saved from loads of health issues or premature death by eating broccoli sprouts. I have two very bad genes that have been suppressed. One of them MTHFR 677 T/T is referred to in medical school as the "Mother F***er Gene". My doctors marvel at my health given my genetic foundation. They attribute it to eating broccoli sprouts for 16 years and all of them eat broccoli sprouts as a result of my inspiring them to read up on the science. I am pained to see this science being suppressed by the FDA. As well as all the other food science I am not aware of because it's not on the packaging.

MoveOn is putting pressure on Republicans who are blocking millions of low-income Americans from accessing quality health care by refusing to expand Medicaid. But Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal can’t stand the heat and the state is threatening legal action to stop MoveOn’s campaign. Last week, Louisiana Lt. Gov. Jay Dardenne publicly demanded MoveOn take down a billboard that criticized Jindal for preventing 242,000 low-income Louisianans from accessing Medicaid as part of the Obamacare Medicaid expansion. Just days later, state officials threatened legal action again MoveOn. Sign the petition: Tell Bobby Jindal to expand Medicaid and stop the frivolous lawsuit threats.

On March 1 the New York Times ran a graphic accompanying its article on Venezuela that showed an “implied inflation rate” of more than 300 percent. This is a statistic that was manufactured by the Cato Institute. It is not a meaningful measure of inflation, and there are few economists who would accept it as such. (1) New York Times editors have refused to correct this error, despite being presented with explanations of why it is wrong. Inflation in Venezuela is currently running at 56 percent, which is high but is not hyperinflation. The Times, following Cato, is using a formula to calculate what inflation would be if people had to pay for all of their goods and services in dollars purchased on the black market. But as every Venezuelan consumer knows, this is not the case. For virtually all of the purchases that make up the basket of goods measured by the Consumer Price Index, Venezuelans use domestic currency. The Cato measure is measuring the change in the black market dollar exchange rate, which is not the same thing as inflation, even if the two variables may be related. The uselessness of this measure can be seen on the graph itself, where the “implied inflation rate” turns negative in 2008-09, at a time when actual inflation was running at 25-31 percent. The Times’ error violates standard economic reporting because it is standard to use official statistics, which come from government or international agencies such as the International Monetary Fund (which has not challenged or criticized Venezuela’s consumer price index). The only exceptions are when the official statistics are not considered by economists to be true, and there are reliable private estimates. An interested party should not be able to simply make up a new statistic for inflation, unemployment, poverty, etc. and expect that a reputable media outlet will report it along with the official statistic that is used by economists and international agencies. Victims of violent crimes can not afford to have victim services shut down for a minimum of 6 to 12 months. This bill will affect Domestic Violence Shelters, Sexual Assault Programs, Human Trafficking Programs, Child Advocacy Centers, District Attorneys' Victim Services (attorneys and advocates), Law Enforcement Domestic Violence Units, Mothers Against Drunk Drivers, The ARC (persons with disabilities), Child Abuse Programs and Survivors of Homicide Programs. In addition, this will also cause job loss and shelters to shut-down. This bill must be stopped to allow enough time for the community, service providers and survivors of violent crimes to become educated about this bill and exercise their voice to the Senate.
