Americans who work hard - some even juggling 2 or 3 jobs - shouldn't be struggling to pay their bills and feed their families. Yet this is the reality for thousands because big corporations are allowed to pay their employees poverty wages. Rep. SB 2681, "Mississippi Religious Freedom Restoration Act," an Arizona-style law was recently approved 48-0 by the Mississippi Senate. Like similar bills in Kansas and Arizona, this bill would write segregation and discrimination into our laws. It could give doctors, nurses, and other trusted professionals a license to discriminate against any LGBTQ people and any other person based on religious grounds. SB 2681, Mississippi Religious Freedom Restoration Act, could allow any person or business in our state to challenge a “burden” on religion. This means that someone could use their religious beliefs to challenge virtually any law, including criminal and other laws that protect our health and safety. SB 2681, passed the state Senate with 48 yes-votes, zero no-votes, and will now go up for a vote in the House. If passed, it would go into effect July 1, 2014. But we have a chance to stop this terrible bill – the Mississippi House has not yet voted on the bill and we need your help to prevent them from passing this law! For decades the crematorium at the Santa Cruz Memorial Park on Ocean St. Extension has been emitting toxic waste into the air, including high levels of mercury. We believe that the city of Santa Cruz is trying to rush a decision to relocate the crematorium at the Santa Cruz Memorial Park on Ocean St. Extension. We believe that the city is trying to avoid the necessary environmental review before anyone notices. Please let them know that you support a full environmental review of the health risks to the citizens of Santa Cruz and our environment before any crematory relocation is allowed.

As a Wise County resident, I was extremely upset that there is a petition to have this book removed from the school's library. This type of suppression of anything having to do with homosexuality does nothing but foster homophobia and bullying against LGBT students in our local schools. A parent or even group of parents should not be able to dictate what everyone's child has the opportunity to read now and in the future. They certainly don't get to decide what's "immoral". Please protect all of our students from this type of suppression because of the inability of some parents to maturely handle such matters.

I am a victim of Stalking. The man who is stalking me knew where I lived, when I moved, and knows where I currently live. I don't feel safe in my own home. Without an Address Confidentiality Program, like 31 other states have, this man stalking me will easily be able to find me if I move again.

I'm just just like the next person affected by this bill. I've always had a manageable bill until I opened my last bill which was more than triple than the norm. The excuse given by Salamanca Board of Public Utilities was suspicious and we as residence need to band together to fight this.

Elderly in our state were under contract with UPG to receive propane at 1.69 a gallon. When they need a fill-up during the recent extremely cold weather, they called Quality Propane, or any of the other UPG suppliers in the area, their calls went unanswered. One 89 year old woman went to the suppliers office to order gas since the propane tank was down to 20 percent. The truck driver delivered only 5 percent more. The elderly lady now fears she'll have to stay with relatives since more sub-freezing temperatures are expected. This scenario is being repeated all over our state this winter. I tried over four days to reach the company I was under contract with. They refused to answer my calls and had turned off the answering machine.

We the people, of the state of Tennessee, believe regulation, concerning marijuana for medical purposes, shall be available to all qualifying patients with a debilitating medical condition and that the enactment of the Patient's Choice Act of 2014, should establish laws, governing the act and a secure and confidential patient registry to fulfill such law.
