FAIRNESS, INCLUSION, and EQUALITY. The Supreme Court lowered the bar passage score for the California bar exam 2 months after the February 2020 bar results were made public. If the passing score on the Feb. 2020 exam had been reduced to 1390, five percent more white test takers would have passed the exam, but eight percent more Latinos, seven percent more Asians and 13 percent more Blacks would also have passed. The percentage of woman applicants have not been disclosed by the committee. Please support recent eligible applicants who have passed previous bar exams with the new cut score of 1390 to 1439 but are unable to retake the exam due to the high fees and costs associated with taking the exam, wildfires, and the numerous issues caused by the pandemic from unemployment, school closures, and the novel Corona virus. Make California attorneys more representative of the state and provide greater access to justice for low- and middle-income Californians in need of legal assistance. The State Bar of California does not want to make the exam retroactive because they will lose money. The State Bar of California will not make admissions retroactive without guidance from the Supreme Court. Law school graduates are required to take the California bar exam after graduating from law school and passing moral character and an ethics exam if they want to practice law in the State of California. Trump is ramping up his hawkish rhetoric and aircraft carriers are moving — we’re left with little choice other than to prepare for an Iran War “October Surprise.” For weeks, Trump’s been laying the groundwork for escalation. On September 14, he threatened war crimes as a response to a since-discredited report about an Iranian assassination plot. Days later, the Navy steamed one of the largest aircraft carriers in the world right past the Iranian coast in an unsubtle show of force. And on September 22, Trump announced new, unilateral sanctions against Iran. The deck feels stacked. But here’s the thing, despite years of fighting and fatigue, we STILL have POWER to safeguard against Trump’s worst possible October Surprise. Congress has the SOLE constitutional authority to determine when and whether the United States goes to war and right now, they’ve got to throw up as many roadblocks as possible — as fast as they can. So let's get LOUD and make sure they hear us when we say: No war with Iran. Not now. Not ever.

As a peninsular state surrounded by water, and filled with miles of Everglades wetlands, we, of all states, should be making the greatest effort to reduce our waste. Florida’s coasts, wetlands, springs and marine life support tourism and have helped the state amass great wealth year-round. We need to protect the greatest natural treasures of this state. Ban single-use plastic bags for good. Let’s be the 9th state to do so, alongside California, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Maine, New York, Oregon and Vermont.

How Sidewalks Would Improve our Community: • Would provide sidewalk access to two entrances of Rock Creek Park Paths (Parkvale Rd and Manorvale Rd) • Provides sidewalk access for students walking to Earle B Wood Middle School and Rock Creek Valley Elementary School and the Earle B Wood Park on the school’s grounds • Provides sidewalk access to Bauer Driver Community Recreation Center • Would allow sidewalk access (via Rock Creek Park Path) to Tikvat Israel, and Twinbrook Baptist Church • Provides sidewalk access to Bus Stop (Bus 48 Line) at intersection of Greenspan Lane and Bauer Drive • Allows sidewalk access to Rock Creek Village center grocery stores/restaurants • All three roads are being used by drivers from outside the neighborhood as a short cut around Rock Creek Village Center and associated traffic • There have been car accidents from speeding cars on our street already. • We have an active community with seniors, kids, bikers, pedestrians, and dog walkers all currently in the street and increasing the risk of a serious accident.

In the 2016 presidential election, the critical state of Wisconsin was decided by less than 25,000 votes. Less than fifty percent of the eligible student body participated. This is unacceptable. Although students share the blame for this disappointing turnout, the University, Mayor, and Clerk’s office have an obligation to ensure that turnout amongst students is as high as possible. As we have stated, this means removing barriers to voting and ensuring that all eligible students have the capacity to vote easily and safely. Regardless of one’s political perspective, this will be one of the most important elections in our nation’s history and a victory in the state of Wisconsin will prove to be decisive for either candidate. Voting is a right that must be made accessible to every UW-Madison student eligible to do so. We've seen the tragic results when wolf management is turned over to states. States beholden to special interests are eager to let wolves be hunted, trapped and poisoned with the same kind of violence that nearly drove them extinct more than a century ago. In the one-third of Washington where wolves lost federal protections back in 2011, the state has wiped out entire packs. Idaho has for years expanded its hunting season for wolves and Wyoming even allows people to chase wolves to exhaustion with snowmobiles, then run them over. Wisconsin has laws requiring trophy hunts of wolves just as soon as wolves are stripped of federal protections. These are just a few examples of what could happen nationwide to wolves if federal protections are stripped and management is turned over to states. America needs wolves. They are a vital keystone species and their loss can have devastating effects on ecosystems and other species. Removing Endangered Species Act protection is the opposite of what's needed: stronger protections and science-based wolf management plans. We demand you immediately stop plans to strip Endangered Species Action protection from nearly every gray wolf in the lower 48.

This is a frankly terrifying moment. But there is a path forward. Senate Democrats have the power and the leverage to prevent Trump and McConnell from deciding who will succeed Justice Ginsburg on the Supreme Court. The Senate runs on unanimous consent. If a single Senator objects to anything, even routine procedure, everything grinds to a halt. That is what Senate Democrats must do: block unanimous consent on every single thing for the rest of the year. It may be our best chance to stop Trump and McConnell. Senate Democrats can block every motion, force every bill to be read in full, and use a wide range of parliamentary tactics to shut down the Senate between now and January, when new Senators and the president are inaugurated. The Washington Post reports that Pentagon has funneled almost $700 million of COVID-19 relief funds intended to build up *medical equipment supplies* to massive defense contractors for things like jet engine parts and body armor.  This is corruption, pure and simple — and all of us ARE already paying the price of the Pentagon’s waste. These funds could’ve shored up the severe shortage of N95 masks at numerous U.S. hospitals. Or supported desperately needed vaccine distribution infrastructure. Instead, they were funneled to defense contractors and spent on things like jet engine parts and body armor. There is only one solution: the Pentagon needs to pay this money back. Urge your member of Congress to demand that the Pentagon pay back the nearly billion dollars in COVID funding it misspent.

DPI at The University will give way to mass decolonization of academia throughout Turtle Island. Decolonization must BEGIN with Michigan! THE UNIVERSITY OF MICHIGAN MUST BE HELD RESPONSIBLE FOR THE TREATY OF FORT MEIGS ON BEHALF OF DIVERSE ANISHINAABEK AND GLOBAL INDIGENOUS ONTOLOGIES IN HIGHER EDUCATION. Times up Michigan, your Treaty obligation is overdue. We DEMAND decolonial pedagogy.

If the candidates are under oath during the presidential debates, voters could be better assured of the veracity of the claims. It would also provide legal recourse if either candidate lied to the American people during such an important national forum.

I. This act allows the arrest of being in a protest that turnt violent, even if you are not inciting any violence. And would be convicted of a 3rd degree felony. II. The portion titled "Obstructing Roadways", states that if there is a protest on an interstate, the driver can drive through a group of people and not be responsible for any death or injury. The driver can use being threatened by "a mob" as a viable excuse to drive into a crowd of people. III. The RICO Liablity, is a punishment by the state for organizing a protest that turned out violent, when in reality the oragnizers didn't have an impact on the violence, and discourages the general public from protesting. IV. If any city in the state of Florida defunds the police they are denied state funding and aid. This comes in the light of a pandemic, where Florida was once the hotspot of. State funding also goes for hurricane aid, and unemployment. If any state government official attends a protest that turns violent they could loose their job and benefits. Lastly, bail is denied until the first court appearance if involved in a protest that turnt violent, over an offense that is not particularly severe. All of these are outlined on the act, and discourages the state of Florida to take part in protest, which supresses the voices of the State of Florida, in fear of arrest or fine.
