• Voting Rights Amendment Act of 2014
Late last week, Representatives Jim Sensenbrenner (R-WI) and John Conyers (D-MI) and Senator Patrick Leahy (D-VT) introduced new legislation—the Voting Rights Amendment Act of 2014—that would strengthen the Voting Rights Act. This bill isn't perfect but is the best vehicle we have for restoring the rights struck down by the Supreme Court last year.1 Improving and passing this bill won't be easy. Already, critics on the right are gearing up to try to kill it, and Speaker John Boehner has yet to commit to bringing it up for a vote.2 Some Republicans are looking to kill any chances of this bill even coming up for debate. The best way to prevent that is to get as much visible support early on. Already, there are nine co-sponsors of this bill—four Republicans and five Democrats. But Rep. Polis isn't one of them. Can you help by asking Rep. Polis to cosponsor? Sources: 1. • Help STOP dictionary's from defining millions of people as Ni**ers.
Hello this is Aaron McCormick, I'm an American citizen and today I'm asking for your help. There was a great price paid for the peace and unity that we all share today and we should not allow this word to be negatively redefined and risk unraveling what's been achieved. No Ethnicity on this Earth deserves to have the N-word forced upon them as if they were its creators or somehow responsible for the damage that it has caused to all ethnicities, colors and genders over the centuries. We all know that this isn't right and the new definition is at best a partial and unbalanced attempt at truth. The sad and ugly truth is that many dictionaries have redefined this word and completely ignored it's many uses that were and are still aimed at multiple ethnicities, colors, and genders of people today. Websites should not spread half-truths or increase racial ignorance/hate. Most of the world has great disdain towards the N-word and if your like me, then you're tired of having it forced into your daily life and upon the undeserving millions who dislike both forms of the N-word and never use either one. Americans of all ethnicities and their descendants are working hard to remove any form of the n-word from music and to defund it's expansion in the arts. An attack on one ethnicity is an attack on the whole of the human race and we need to stand up for each other now more than ever. Please join me in saying NO to the demoralization of millions of people around the world by way of the N-word. Unacceptable then and unacceptable now! With your help we'll petition entities/sites who are stoking the racial fires of hate and upsetting millions through the unethical and immoral defining of this word. We'll combat this injustice by way of commercials on TV , web, radio and other peaceful displays if necessary. Together we can and we will stop this attack on the unity of America and the families of the world! Also please join in on the discussion on the Facebook Page "360" https://www.facebook.com/pages/360/372594216185339 To help finance the effort to stop the improper use of N-words, please visit our Website or E-mail us at the address below; also please "like" and "share". • Enact the Voting Rights Amendment Act of 2014
Voter protections long in place have been destroyed recently, and need to be restored, and perhaps fortified, to ensure that ALL legitimate voters have the equal rights guarenteed by the U.S. Constitution.

  • Rep. Kinzinger: Support Voting Rights
The Voting Rights Act is one of the most important pieces of civil rights legislation Congress has ever passed. Last year's Supreme Court decision weakened critical provisions of it. Right now, Congress can restore those protections by passing this important bill. Representativen Kinzinger should support this effort by cosponsoring and fighting for a strong bill.

  • Representative Brooks; support voting rights
The Voting Rights Act is one of the most important pieces of civil rights legislation which opened up the right to vote to many who had been unfairly denied their voice at the polls. It was weakened by last years Supreme Court decision, but now Congress can restore those protections by passing this bill. We ask Rep. Brooks to join this effort by cosponsoring and voting for this bill.

  • Prohibit denial of legal health care services in WA state
(Background) As more secular hospitals merge with religiously affiliated ones, nearly half of WA state hospital beds are now controlled by Catholic ideology that prohibits contraceptive counseling and contraceptive methods including condoms, birth control pills, morning after pills, IUDs, vasectomies and tubal ligations; and that prohibits fertility assistance, termination of pregnancy and the provision of information and referrals about the end of life option of "death with dignity", all of which are legal in WA State. Non-Catholics and Catholics alike increasingly find themselves in situations in which the only health care available is subject to these restrictions dictated by the US Conference of Catholic Bishops. WA State has the highest percentage of religious control of hospital beds in the U.S. and its continuing to increase (26% in 2010, 45% so far in 2014). Some business owners refuse to include the same legal health care services in their company's health insurance plans. Some pharmacy owners refuse to dispense certain legal contraception products. Some health care providers continue to discriminate against LGBT families. Substantial amounts of public funds in the form of Medicaid, Medicare, and Public Hospital District tax levies are paid to those hospitals and providers. Should religions, based solely on their ideologies, be allowed to deny legal health 'standard of care' to the general public who pay those taxes? It's time to say, "Stop!" We believe that in medical care, the patient's rights must come first with all legal medical "Standards of Care" and "Best Practices" available for all residents of our state. Washington citizens have worked for decades to place into law the Reproductive Privacy Act, the Death with Dignity Act, and Marriage Equality because in America individuals, not churches, decide matters of conscience. State officials are responsible to make sure all these benefits are continually available to all WA residents.
