SUPPORT SB 610 & AB1141SB 610 & AB1141 seeks to level the playing field - NOT to make it easier for franchisees to escape their contractual obligations to the franchisor. It will benefit all franchise systems/brands and ensure that franchisees can continue to offer excellent services to their customers, employ their workers, and give back to their communities. Franchising is one of the most powerful brand building tools ever created. It is reported that franchising is responsible for 760,000 businesses, 18 million jobs, 14 percent of the private sector employment, and over $500 billion in annual payroll. Total sales by businesses operated by franchisees are projected to reach over $2 trillion this year. 1 out of every 12 businesses is independently owned and operated by a franchisee. Over the last 50 years franchisees have invested their capital and hard work in creating some of the most recognized brands in the marketplace. The success of franchising is predicated on the investment by franchisees. This is now at risk because the terms of the franchise agreements have become more one-sided in favor of the franchisors. They have significantly reduced the ability of franchisees to build their businesses and serve their customers. These bills have been written and developed by franchisees in multiple systems and industries to identify the basic terms of fairness that are missing in their franchise agreements, and must be restored to ensure the success and growth of the franchise systems. Franchisees from across the nation and state of California have joined, working together to pass these first steps of new Legislation in the State of California. Asian American Hotel Owners Association (AAHOA) , Buffalo Wings National Franchisee Association (BWNFA) , Coalition of Franchisee Associations (CFA), Domino's Franchisee Association (DFA) ,Dunkin' Donuts Independent Franchise Owners (DDIFO), Econo Lodge Franchisee Association (ELFA), Edible Arrangements Independent Franchisee Association (EAIFA), Independent Hardees Franchisee Association (IHFA),Independent Organization of Little Caesars Franchisees (IOLCF), Long John Silver's Franchisee Association(LJSFA), Meineke Dealers Association (MDA), National Franchisee Association (Burger King) (NFA), North American Association of Subway Franchisees (NAASF) , Owners 8 Association (O8A), Service Station Franchisee Association (SSFA), San Francisco - Monterey Bays 7-Eleven Franchise Owners Association (SFMB7-11OA), The 7-11 Political Action Committee, The Association for Convenience & Fuel Retailing (NACS), California Independent Oil Marketers (CIOMA), American Association of Franchisee & Dealers (AAFD), all have come together to support these two Bills. Please Join us on this historical day to protect your family, business, and your brands future. Please take a few minutes to complete the Petition. Once the Petition is completed we will hand deliver the Petition of Support for SB 610 and AB 1141 to all Senate and Assembly offices. It is Critical for you to sign the petition and in the comment portion, name your brand that you are representing. Thank you for you support.272 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Ali Mazarei

Narcissism is running amokThe lawmakers in Arizona have passed a bill that makes texting while driving LEGAL in the state! This is unacceptable! It sends the message to the "texters" that they have the RIGHT to put everyone else, & their cars, at risk. Even if you do not live in AZ, please sign this petition & save us from this narcisstic behavior.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Liesl Gretz-Shoemaker

Referendum on WMS Co-Presidents ElectionThe recent proposed changes for the election of student body co-presidents make it so students no longer get to vote on their primary leaders. Bring this issue to a general student body vote, so that we can be sure a change of this significance actually represents the voice of the student body.182 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Jake Stein

The Case To Impeach: Senators John McCain (R-Ariz.), Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H...If it is acceptable for one of our children to be declared an Enemy Combatant, and so held indefinitely, then any of our children may treated in like manner under similar circumstance, and we do not perceive clearly where all of this may end. Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia has stated the case very clearly in HAMDI v. RUMSFELD: The very core of liberty secured by our Anglo-Saxon system of separated powers has been freedom from indefinite imprisonment . . .676 of 800 SignaturesCreated by D. Winter

CHILD CARE ASSISTANCE FUNDING FROM THE STATE OF ARIZONA FOR WORKING FAMILIESI am a single mother of 2 young children, a boy who is 9 and a girl who is 3. I work full time and go to school full time as well. Childcare is $150 per week per child and even by making $15 per hour I am struggling to make ends meet. I receive assistance from the state of Arizona for food and medical, but cannot receive childcare assistance because I am do not receive cash assistance and in order to receive cash assistance you must be unemployed. I know I am not alone and am starting this petition to ask the State of Arizona to help working families who have younger children with childcare assistance funding. I am not asking for them to pay all of the childcare expenses for each family, but a portion based on income (like they do in Washington State). Other states and countries provide assistance, especially when the parent or parents are working full time and in school and the State of Arizona should as well.6 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Kathleen Pedroza

Uniform Application of the LawI am outraged that members of Congress are allowed to exempt themselves and/or their staff from laws the rest of must obey. Any laws that are passed should exempt no one especially Congress less we develop into the masses and the privileged few. How dare the GOP and the Democrats collude to exempt themselves from Obama Care and "take the heat" together.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Cynthia Beaudette

Congress Save the UnemployedMy wife is collecting emergency unemployment funds and the federal budget cuts known as sequestration require states to trim federal benefits known as Emergency Unemployment Compensation by roughly 10 percent. Our citizens who are currently unemployed should not have their funds cut especially with the weak job market. Once again, citizens who can least afford it are burdened with paying the federal debt. Tell congress to stop exploiting the poor and unemployed and find another way to take care of their debt.4 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Maureen Asten

University-Kern Beautification ProjectI own a small business in the university area of El Paso, Texas. I also live in the neighborhood. We moved our business to this area because of the planned beautification project. This was about nine years ago. Nothing has happened and there is no longer talk of seeing this through. It seems that the city has shifted gears and moved their focus to downtown. This is great, we need that. Having a fun, beautiful, university area is critical for El Paso as it is the gateway between Utep, our historic districts and downtown. I would like to know what has happened to these plans and how can we get them going again?225 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Monica Lorey
