House Bill 512, which allows weapons on college campuses, in places of worship, and in bars, passed the Georgia House of Representatives with overwhelming support last week. As a college professor and a minister, I find this terrifying. The Georgia University System as a whole opposes this legislation, but the House supported a few students at urban campuses who feel unsafe and want to carry weapons. Georgia Senate and Governor Deal: fund increased security on these campuses. Don't endanger everyone in the most emotional and/or alcohol soaked places in the state!

UNJUST TERMINATION BY MTA AFTER OVER 14 YEARS OF SERVICE. THE MTA DID NOT FOLLOW THEIR OWN POLICIES.

You never own anything taxed,you just pay rent to the government ! IT'S TIME TO END DISCRIMINATION IN HOUSING AND IN THE WORK FORCE AGAINST THE LGBT COMMUNITY.

The airport is located in Clayton which is why the tax code is now being rigged to accomplish this scheme. If this bill becomes law it means a loss of $15 million in revenue that fund our schools. It will bleed our educational system and further stagnant our economic recovery. We must make defeating this bill our top priority.

The decision as to whether to accept Medicaid assistance from the federal government is being considered by the Florida House, whose leader opposes it along party lines. The governor, Rick Scott who has refused it for several years, now is in favor of providing Medicaid expansion. Economic conditions caused by unregulated government policies and wasteful spending have caused severe financial hardships for hard working people who paid taxes that have provided this funding. Health care costs have skyrocketed! This Medicaid funding is desperately needed for thousands of Floridians. This is not a "party" issue, it is making a humane decision for persons who elected these officials and have provided the money to help themselves and others at a period of extreme need. It is time to serve the people and not special interest groups who elect officials.

Pelican Bay Prison has been a hot spot of controversy, and the controversy is NOT the prisoners, but those who run the prison itself, namely the BOP and CDCr, CCPOA, Gov. Brown and every staff member for allowing the abuse to perpetuate such practices of human warehousing for profit.
