As a US citizen who has lived in Israel, I deplore the fact that our government sends billions annually to Israel as she continues to flout International Law and the Human Rights of her neighbors.

We seniors are already living beneath the cost of living. These monies were deducted from our personal or our spouses earnings for many years and much of this was borrowed on by the government over the years. The Supreme Court now says this law is not legal-well, if not, then give us back the money that was deducted, and leave the whole thing alone from now on!

My grandchildren experienced loosing a friend in high school do to a shooting at a party in one of their high school friend's house. Teen ager friends are afraid to go to school.

Police shot two women in Torrance as they were delivering papers from their car in the early morning. There should be no reason to fear random acts of violence and especially not from the police. These officers did not even hesitate or ask questions before they opened fire and shot over 30 bullets into the back of a civilian truck. Injuring hardworking, unarmed Americans in the process. The present disability determination process is inaccurate. Full of paperwork & repetition. Physician reports are normally completed by non professional office staff "interpreting" physician files. Determinations are made by team members who have no personal knowledge of the capabilities & limitations of the applicant. Determination reports often contain damaging errors. In my case, my letter of denial cited a report from a doctor & location I never heard of. Among other discrepancies in the letter, it was stated that I had a sound memory. My application made 13 references to my poor memory. I phoned my contact person to inform her of the errors. Her response was insistent & firm: That's what the team decided; you can appeal. I was reporting a decision based on blatantly false information - errors on their part; but still had to go through the routine appeal process. Nonchalant staff incompetency cost me big time: I lost my life savings & lost precious time in slowing progression of another medical condition that was developing. While I waited, actually ineligible applicants began receiving benefits. Disability determination reform will save billions of tax dollars now spent on fraudulent beneficiaries & needless repetitive ineffective processes, & will greatly expedite the provision of medical care & basic needs income to those who are actually unable to work. Staff & resources need to be redirected from incessant repetitive paperwork, mailings, & appeals to direct contact between applicants & staff, requiring only one swift decision based on actual fact. At this point the vast majority of legitimate applicants end up appealing initial applications twice before being approved. Worse yet, some applicants who clearly can't hold a job, run out of appeals & must wait to submit another initial application & go through the whole process again. Citizens who have worked & paid taxes & become unable to work deserve an accurate timely disability determination process. Tax payers shouldn't have to pay taxes for inefficient repetitive determinations & for Social Security Income & Medicare for hundreds of thousands of ineligible beneficiaries. Please help me convince the White House & Congress to begin taking action - to go after beneficiary fraud & revamp the disability determination process. Of note: going after Medicare Provider fraud has already saved billions of dollars. PLEASE SIGN THE PETITION NOW.

The post office is not having problems because of Email. Congress has required them to fund their retirement program for 75 years ahead. This is unprecedented. they are also restricted from providing other services that would make money. They have been forced stop Saturday deliveries to save money. This might just be the beginning. They just need the pension funding requirement made reasonable.

Of all the states in the northeast which maintain an income tax, Pennsylvania is the only one which is restrained constitutionally to a simple flat tax. Unlike the federal income tax, which allows for deductions of other taxes, business and investment losses, and some of the expenses of running a household, the Pennsylvania income tax falls most heavily on the poor and on small business. Unlike other state income taxes in the area, the flat tax makes no allowance for higher tax rates on discretionary disposable income, not devoted to necessities.

Governor Sandoval, our children are Nevada’s future. ALL children in Nevada deserve the best teachers so that Nevada no longer ranks last in our nation in education. Nevada ranks last in the U.S. for high school graduates. In the top school districts worldwide, three things matter most: 1) getting the right people to become teachers, 2) developing them into effective instructors and, 3) ensuring that the system is able to deliver the best possible instruction to EVERY child. Nevada will dwell more on primary and secondary education. We need to make sure that ALL children in secondary education are prepared to meet the needs of our ever changing and demanding workforce, this means, preparing them for the world outside of Nevada and seeing that ALL are prepared to meet those needs through higher education. Without our children meeting the future workforce demands, Nevada will remain a workforce that only supports low-paying casino and mining jobs.
