  • Funding cuts in critical human services programs
State and private health care organizations are poorly funded and often their mission is mis-understood, e.g. prejudice, lack of knowledge of the service population. Funding should be increased for proper care!

  • Clarify child safety restraint laws
I've been aware that people do not completely understand child safety restraint laws and quite recently a child died from being in the wrong type of restraint. The child restraints themselves are sometimes too vague about who can or can not use the restraints. The whole thing needs clarification.

  • Redding Citizens Need Jobs!!
The recession rolls on -- but in Redding, it has been rolling on for a long time. The federal government helped out with the Recovery Act, but that is winding down. We need sustainable energy jobs up here.

  • Legalize Growing Of Industrial Hemp in Texas
Hemp grows quickly, is easy to cultivate, and can be used as a staple in virtually any industry. Textiles, building materials, food, paper, cosmetics, even fuel can be made from this. In addition, this plant is a renewable resource that ecologically benefits the environment it is planted in.

  • Eliminate Paper Towel Waste: PUBLIC SCHOOLS SHOULD GO ELECTRIC.
I attend Walled Lake Northern High School, in Commerce MI, in Oakland County. Currently my green group and I are doing our part by trying to reduce the amount of reusable materials that are not properly disposed of. The amount of paper towel used is wasteful and harmful. According to Americandryer.com, by replacing all paper towel dispensers with automatic hand dryers in a public school, there will be an increased 95% cost savings vs. paper towels and 80 – 90% less energy used depending on the hand dryer. The hand dryer operating costs are$1,232 to an outrageous $115,500 in total paper towel costs.

  • "Guns Don't Kill People..." You know the rest.
There's been too much debate about the impending gun laws and WAY too much support for the banning or placement of RIDICULOUS restrictions. Yes the loss of so many elementary children was indeed a tragedy but so were many other incidents at schools and no one blamed the weapons until now.

  • No rigging of the electoral college votes from Michigan
Plans to change how electoral votes are apportioned are being discussed, and would strongly bias the electoral vote in favor of Republicans. This is change we do not believe in.
