  • Medicaid in Alabama
Too many people in our state do not get access to healthcare except in the most expensive way, the emergency room. If they are unable to pay this hurts our hospitals and increases our insurance.

  • Scrap/Greatly reduce cost of gamertag changes on xbox live
Get Microsoft to greatly reduce the cost of changing your xbox live gamertag. Its understandable that MS dont want people changing their gamer tag contstantly but the prohibitive cost is blocking the xbox live community from growing. Lets get the cost down to 400 microsoft points, cheap enough to be fair but high enough to stop constant name changes.

  • Allow educational private loans to be consolidated the same way as federal loans.
Our current education system is too expensive and many young students must now use private loans to cover their tuition gap. According to the pew report in 2010, 70% of total debt was owed by households headed by those under 45. The average national debt per student was $26,000 dollars in 2010. All trends point towards increased borrowing to keep pace with the rocketing cost of education. Personally I owe over 50,000 dollars in private loans from my masters degree. Four of my loans have high variable interest rates and none of these loans can be consolidated for better rates or terms of repayment. Students are graduating into a dismal job market with overwhelming debt, and high variable interest rates. It's time to give graduates a break and offer the same benefits provided by the federal government.

  • Voter Education
Due to the total absence of honesty or accountability during candidate speeches, uneducated voters are basing their vote on television adds, and "journalists" rants. It seems to me that a simple short "voter exam" (similar to the California drivers' license exam) with questions concerning political history and basic American civics would at least alert some people to the facts of American politics. "Studying" for the exam would enlighten the uneducated and the often duped, and perhaps keep politicians accountable for their unbelievably ridiculous "proposals".

  • STOP THE SALE OF LSUHSC IN SHREVEPORT
LSUHSC in Shreveport was not losing money for the state of Louisiana, and yet. Bobby Jindal is unfairly selling us to the "highest bidder" putting those who need a state funded hospital at risk of having no where to go for health care.

  • Stop Fracking in Connecticut
Protect our groundwater -- stop fracking in Connecticut! State Rep. Matt Lesser (D-Middletown) recently introduced legislation, HB 5330, which would ban hydro-fracking in Connecticut until it can be proven safe. The shale gas boom has helped many across the country get rich in recent years, but hydro-fracking, the process by which the gas is extracted, is almost entirely exempt from environmental regulation. Support this legislation and help make sure Connecticut sends a message that our children's health isn't for sale.
