• Do not cut Social Security benefits as part of the fiscal showdown!
Social Security does not add to the deficit, and should be off the table on any fiscal deal.

Something needs to be done to Illegalize the use of firearms by the mentally ill. It needs to be a Felony to teach mentally ill to shoot and operate a firearm. There are NO laws against this.

  • Issue mandatory school suspensions for all forms of harassment
No more red tape, no verbal warnings after the first day of school- more often than not, we've heard all kinds of stories about students being harassed and bullied at school and we've also heard all kinds of stories about school leaders doing absolutely nothing to stop it. Not anymore- it's time to take a real hard-line stance toward bullying and harassment in schools, because bullying and harassment in schools lead to fights and bloodshed, and it also leads to police/sheriff's deputies being called in to defuse the situation. It's time to stop this at it's source by making available forms of formal student complaints outside the principal's office to make a written complaint about a student that is harassing him/her, and that complainant will be required to sign the formal complaint on the spot in the presence of a school administrator. Also, all schools should have a polygraph administrator to test students, who deny their roles in the incidents. The bottom line is, if that student admits to their roles, their suspension will be relatively shorter, but if it's revealed in the polygraph results that the student lied about his/her role in the incident, the student's suspension will be longer. All signed formal student complaints will be treated as disciplinary referrals. Regardless, any student that commits bullying and harassment in school should be suspended. No detention, no Saturday School- IMMEDIATE SUSPENSION FROM SCHOOL. It's time to send a clear-cut message to students that bullying and harassment in school will not be tolerated under any circumstances and since there'll be no verbal warnings after the first day of school, the incident will be met with automatic and immediate suspensions. The same deal will apply to social media- authorities and school administrators will be immediately contacted about incidents of cyber bullying, and in addition to prosecution to the fullest extent of the law, also immediate suspension from school, but in the case of cyber bullying, it'll also include a recommendation for expulsion. This would also apply to bullying/harassment incidents at all school bus stops, on the school bus and at all school functions- a student can make a formal complaint and sign it on the spot with a school administrator present and the subject of the complaint faces an immediate suspension for his/her role in the incident. There's absolutely no excuse for and there should be no tolerance at all for any and all forms of bullying and harassment in school and it should be met with suspension. The point is it's about making schools safer for the students and freeing them from the harms of bullying and harassment. It's also about making hard-line examples out of those, that are foolish enough to violate the rights of other students and break the rules. Add to that, a mandatory conference with the parents of the student, who's been suspended for bullying/harassment. It's time to protect the victims of bullying/harassment and make examples out of the violators.

  • McDonald's Does NOT Need to Be Open Christmas
One of my first jobs was at McDonald's. It was not a prestigious job and it did not pay a lot of money. The one thing we could count on was Thanksgiving and Christmas with our families. The McDonald's Corporation opened the corporate stores on Thanksgiving and plan to be open on Christmas as well. They are also trying to pressure franchise owners to do the same. Say NO to Big Macs and Happy Meal's on these two important family days. They can live without your $4-5 for two days a year and we can be Lovin' It the other 363 days of the year.

  • Temporary Protective Services at the Nations Schools
I managed the security for a midwest university campus of 60 acres, 2,000 students and visitors with a staff of 200. I can assure you that being open to the public does mean persons who have weapons can and will challenge your safety. The Nation is now on notice that we must provide armed, trained SECURITY STAFF at every shool...either volunteer or paid, not to do so is to invite tragedy and copy cat shooters.

  • Right to Healthcare
Constitutional Amendment providing for quality health care for all citizens of the United States of America and control of Healthcare costs. We should all have the right to quality healthcare in this country despite our economic status. Hosptals and Doctors are not accepting Medicaid ! Medicare Advantage plans are finding ways to deny expenses with co-pays,co insurance payments and deductables but the costs of such services are out of control. Hospitals are denying treatment and people are forced to make the horrible choices that lead to more serious conditions. Let's seek a constituional Amendment that provides for Healthcare cost restrictions and the Gurantee of Medical treatment. Obamacare is a start but to gurantee would provide our rights to fair and equitable billing be studied and costs limited to what we can afford to pay ! A constitutional amendment would also gurantee that Obamacare would not be subject to repeal . Let's stand up for what's right.

  • Intelligent control of guns, high speed cartridges , ammunition and ancillary products
20 innocent children were brutally massacred, it could have been any of our children. The capacity of the weapons used facilitated the deaths of 26 people within minutes. There is neither a reason for these weapons to be in the hands of civilians nor a justification. Let us not allow the loss of these angels to pass without action. We will go on with our lives, but the loss and horror to the families. classmates, community and first responders is just beginning. Let us ensure this does not happen again.

  • Free our federal research organizations to study guns as they study disease and crime.
Untie the hands of researchers or research funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Injury and the ATF so that we the people can see exactly what the possible causes to our country having so much gun violence. Is it proliferation of assault weapons? Are they most used in crimes? Is it really true that murderers without guns can kill as many people as murderers with guns? Much less assault guns? Our government should be protecting us, not prohibiting research that might lead to saner gun control.

  • SUPPORT ZAXBY'S WORKERS
I was terminated from Zaxby's Restaurant on Allen Rd. after working there for 7.5 years. I was hired there in 2005 as an assistant manager, and after 1 year became a general manager, which I remained for the remaining 6.5 years. I was terminated on August 25, 2012. I was told by one of the owners that I was fired because I wasn't working the required 50 hr. work week (which I've always done). I worked more than 50 hrs. every week, and sometimes I didn't take a full 7 days vacation. My job was my first priority, next to church. I would never do anything to jeopardize that. I've always worked hard at everything I do. I was known as the strict manager; following rules and going by the book. I witnessed unfair treatment of crew and managers because of the color of their skin, so after complaining to one of the owners back in April 2012 my job was threatened. After pleading my case I received an apology and I was told everything was ok and I still had my job. But even though he apologized and acted as though he understood, he held on to this and terminated me on aug. 25, 2012, which was four months later. He probably wouldn't have kept me that long, but he had just fired another black manager. So all the general managers employed now are white. They are very disrepectful to crew, curse at them, date them, use racial slurs and target black individuals by drug testing them to get rid of them, even if there are white individuals coming to work "high" and known drug users. They basically do whatever they want and nothing happens to them. This has been going on for years and it has to stop now!
