• Congress' new healthcare plan
I'd like to see all elected official in Congress on Obamacare Plan instead of the current royal system they enjoy at taxpayers' expense. If they want everyone to join to keep costs down, then why does Congress enjoy a Cadallac program that most American's can have.

  • Federal money for all schools' security
I am a teacher and I know full well the complete lack of security present in most and particularly elementary schools bec the few guards present im schools are there to break up fights not to protect the children. Most schools are easily entered and only guarded by nonunion untrained personnel on a temp basis. Aren't out children our most valuable possesions? We collect them all together with no protection everyday not counting us teachers who have been faced with ppl who come off the streets at all times of the day. This ks nothing new. I have never been in a properly secured school. Shouldnt the govnt be spending as much money protecting ut schools as they spend checking out luggage at an airport?

  • Deadbeat Dads
My son Eddie Jr, who is now 16 years old has received very little support from his dad. His dad moved 3000 miles away, and re-married while we are still married. My son has not seen his dad since he was 7 years old. His dad used his Social Security Number in 2008, 2009, 2010 to work to avoid paying child support.

  • Victoria Soto Childhood Protection Act
Victoria Soto was the courageous young teacher who gave her own life, protecting her students at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut. To honor her and the 20 first-grade students who lost their young lives, we are petitioning President Obama and Congress to speedily enact a law to be called the Victoria Soto Childhood Protection Act. This law would ban the ownership, sale, and use of assault weapons inside the United States, and mandate a 10-year prison sentence for offenders. Please join us. The time is NOW.

  • Limit personal gun ownership.
The United States is #1 in gun ownership of all industrialized countries. The U.S. far exceeds all of these countries in gun violence and homicide. Statistics show that gun owners are not more secure but actually more likely to die by gunfire. Ask Congress to pass a law banning personal ownership of firearms except for those with a special permit to hunt. Hunters will be allowed to own only weapons designed for hunting.

  • REDUCE THE SALARIES AND BENEFITS OF CONGRESS
We pay for the Salaries and Benefits of the DO NOTHING CONGRESS. They are trying to kill our Unions, Social Security and Medicare in addition to privatizing teachers, firefighters, all prisons, policemen, Social Security, Medicare in an effort make themselves richer and institute slave wages in America. This goal is only topped by their unwillingness make their benefactors pay taxes and support this country that made them rich in the first place. Congress members are all MILLIONAIRES and your tax dollars made them such.

  • Tax Florida "Business Churches"
In an atmosphere of tax cuts and service reductions - fire stations and school being closed - churches remain tax free. While using the same infrastructure that tax paying businesses and taxpayers use - roads, police, firefighters - churches are exempt from paying taxes. Some churches are clearly for profit business that make money off of their members. These "business churches" do not contribute to the economic well being of the community nor help support the infrastructure. This petition seeks to gain support for a constitutional amendment to the Florida constitution requiring any church that makes over a 33% profit above its demonstrated operating costs and charitable work to pay taxes like other businesses pay. This is NOT an anti-religion action - it is a pay your fair share action. Please sign and pass along and look for the FaceBook group - Taxing Florida "Business" Amendment

  • The General Assembly and U.S. Congress: Repeal the Prohibited City of Norfolk, Virginia At Large ...
Repeal of those provisions of the city charter relating to prohibited at large city council election of mayor, a voting member that diluted African-American voting power on council. It passed the General Assembly and signed into law by Governor Mark R. Warner on March 28, 2005, SB1174, which is Chapter 893, and HB2739, which is Chapter 897. See: Collins v.
