Please stop killing the innocent Palestinian children. This is genocide... a massacre. How can a people who were oppressed be so cruel. Please STOP KILLING THE CHILDREN.

Two states have currently legalized marijuana, but the federal government is still cracking down on users (especially on california dispensaries). Legalizing marijuana is a state issue, and the federal government should leave it to the states to decide their own marijuana laws.

Illinois is the only state that does not allow people to carry concealed weapons. The NRA and other gun-industry groups are lobbying the Illinois legislature to pass a concealed carry bill. Concealed carry would bring more guns into public places and make it much more difficult for police to get guns off the streets. Sign the petition and tell the Illinois legislature that we do not want concealed carry in Illinois.

From his brilliantly eloquent and rousing speech at the Democratic National Convention (arithmetic!), to his tireless and enthusiastic campaigning across the nation, Democrats everywhere owe President Bill Clinton a very big "Thank you!"

People should be concerned about the obstructive behavior of the House, in particular, the Republican party. They have not legislated anything for four years and it has to stop. We are what is important, the voters. I personally do not appreciate our tax monies funding obstruction for inappropriate agendas.

There is no extra money that can be cut from Social Security and Medicaid. People forced to use these benefits already live at the bare minimum. The cost of living keeps rising and so does that of health care. My sister spends every month choosing between medical care and food. Most of the time, she doesn't have enough for either. We need Harry Reid to stand up for those in need rather than kick them while they are down.

We must be FAIR to everyone alike: TAX ALL INCOME whether it is earned or won. We need not pick on the rich--right now they don't pay taxes on their capital gains! Anyone who lives on unearned income is getting away with stealing from the rest of us. Close this loophole! Income is income. Period!

In order to deal with the upcoming fiscal crisis, there should be no cuts to entitlement programs

The 2006 Congress undermined the financial stability of the Postal Service when it enacted a law that required the postal service to “pre-fund” retiree health benefits seventy-five years into the future, and in an unrealistic 10 year period. With $44 billion now in the fund, The Postal Service inspector general has said that program is already stronger than any other equivalent government or private-sector fund in the country. There already is more than enough in the account to meet all obligations to retirees, yet Congress has been unwilling to pass responsible legislation to keep it solvent. Rural Post Offices are being reduced & some closed. America's Postal Service is facing being dismantled and privatized as result of the inaction of Congress. This agency provides middle income wage earning jobs, many to our veterans returning home. Replacing these jobs with non-career, low- wage, support personnel is damaging to this already ailing economy and totally unnecessary. Mr. President, only the White House Administration can intervene to stop this.

Many of us depend on these services here in Nevada as well as the rest of The United States and we urge you to please remember us when you are negotiating the budget compromise with the Republicans and President Obama. I can personally say that any cost of living increases we receive on our Social Security goes directly back into the economy immediately and without the Medicare benefits I don't know how we'd be making it at all. Seniors and the disabled deserve your consideration on this matter.

Protect our senior citizens present and future and our poor!! Don't cut the Safety net to give more tax breaks to the wealthy!

My son is 29 and his father still owes $67,000.00 in back child support. I've had a child support order in affect since 1987. Because his father lives in another state it has been very difficult to collect. This is a moral as well as legal obligation and the federal government and states have not worked hard enough to enforce the laws.
