I started this petition because I’ve seen firsthand how Alabama’s DHR system can destroy families instead of helping them. Too many parents — including myself and people I know — have been treated unfairly due to false reports or simple mistakes.  I’ve watched DHR rush to take children from safe homes without real evidence of danger, while ignoring the trauma that causes. People use DHR as a weapon out of anger or revenge, and innocent parents pay the price.  Every parent should have the chance to be supported, not punished. DHR should help families stay together, not tear them apart. Children belong with their parents when it’s safe, and parents deserve respect, truth, and due process.  I’m fighting for change because I love Alabama — but we must do better for our children and families. 

QTS has not been forthright about the environmental, financial, and community impacts this massive project will bring to our small village. Residents deserve real answers before any approval is granted. The Village of DeForest should not move forward with any approval until QTS provides independent environmental and economic impact studies that are made fully available to the public. This company’s lack of transparency is unacceptable. We refuse to allow a reckless project to jeopardize the health, stability, and sustainability of our community. Let’s protect DeForest’s future before it’s too late. Sign this petition to tell the Village Board: No approval without full transparency from QTS!

As one of the most diverse communities in the country, Skokie welcomes everyone. We condemn the recent U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (I.C.E.) activity and the fear and uncertainty terrorizing our friends, family, and neighbors. We stand with all immigrants and we denounce any attempt to justify these barbaric actions as anything less than racist and xenophobic. 

The persistent shutdown of the United States government is a direct result of Mike Johnson's unwillingness to release the Epstein files.  The circumstances here are clear: Johnson is willing to punish the American people, not pay our federal employees, and compromise the integrity of our federal government to protect his political allies.  He is blatantly refusing to perform his role as speaker by failing to swear in Rep-elect Grijalva; in doing so, he is violating his oath to the United States.  It is time for Democrats to work with republicans who are already willing to cross the aisle, as seen with the discharge petition of the Epstein files under discharge petition No. 119.  We, the people of the United States, call upon the Democratic leadership to consistently file motions to vacate and work tirelessly with anyone willing to break the deadlock so that the United States Congress can function as intended within the United States Constitution.  Should this measure fail, it should be repeated until success is achieved. 

We base these demands on the understanding that America, Colorado and CU Boulder would not be possible without the tireless commitment, contribution and care of immigrant communities. For this reason, we recognize the need for CU Boulder to adopt the policies of a sanctuary campus. 

The recent acquisition of Dominion Voting Systems by Liberty Vote highlights a dangerous reality. Our election security is at risk; the most essential part of our democracy is our right to vote unmolested.  When the Oligarchs seek to undermine our democracy through technology, it is often the case that older, tested methods can foil their complex means of manipulation.  In essence, to outmaneuver their intent to manipulate our constitutional vote to free and fair elections, we must demand that our State, Governor, Assembly, and Senate lead the way for other Democratic states to follow.     We have led the way with Prop 50, and we encourage our leadership to continue this trend by taking steps to protect our rights as Californians and as Americans to free and fair elections. 

The far right is scapegoating noncitizen residents as the source for every problem facing the United States. In turn, the Supreme Court has green-lit the indiscriminate detention of our neighbors based solely on skin color, native language, and employment, regardless of citizenship status. However, our Constitution protects everyone, regardless of citizenship status. It is time that our Village ensures everyone is equally protected during these unprecedented times. 

Ebikes  are advertised and sold as bicycles, therefore, the dangers and safety risks are often overlooked by consumers. Without ANY age restrictions, education requirements or proper warnings upon buying ebikes, they are assumed to be as safe as riding a bicycle, and that is just NOT true. Please help us push for stricter warnings and requirements upon advertising, selling and purchasing ebikes. 

Homelessness isn’t just a “big city” problem — it’s happening quietly right here in our backyards. It’s the single mom sleeping in her car after losing her job. The veteran struggling with PTSD and no family to turn to. The teenager who ran from abuse and has nowhere safe to land. These are our people — our neighbors, our classmates, our community. By signing and supporting this petition, you’re helping create more than a shelter — you’re helping build hope, stability, and second chances. Change doesn’t happen unless we make it happen, together. No one should have to wonder where they’ll sleep tonight. Your signature is a step toward making sure they never have to again.

In an environment where hate speech is becoming both normalized and de rigueur, it is critical that we stand up for our children and show them that they are not alone.  An attack against one is an attack against all, and allowing this hate speech to go unaddressed provides license and cover to others on Penn's campus to engage in similar activities, leaving our children vulnerable targets for hateful words and actions.   Our children have earned their place at Penn, and no student should should ever feel that their place at Penn is any less respected than anyone else’s.  Our children deserve the mental and physical safety that we all assumed they would have when we sent them to be in the care and community of the University of Pennsylvania. It is critical that we stand shoulder to shoulder with our students to convey to the university our concern, and our clear expectation that this matter is handled swiftly and definitively.

Let's put our people power to work in Washington DC - and support our National Parks!  The President, the Senate and the House must fund the government by October 1, or the government shuts down. Partisan politics may continue to poorly affect our Nation's Best Idea, notably, one with bipartisan support for time immemorial. Let's fully fund our parks - in 2026 - and beyond! 

Because Trump is not a dictator and he cannot take away freedom of speech from comedians and others who he doesn't like.  If he gets away with this, he will try for more and soon there will be no outlets that stand up to him!
