The Benicia school district has decided to take AP Art History away from Pat Thomas. It isn't clear who will be teaching it next year, but it won't be Ms. Thomas. AP Art History was one of the best classes I took at Benicia High School. It seems completely ridiculous to continue the class and have anyone other than Ms. Thomas teach it. I know many people who were opened up to Art History through that class and who went on to major or minor in it in college. If you took the class, you know Ms. Thomas did her job, and did it well. And there is no one better to teach this class at BHS—please sign our petition to tell the Benicia Unified School District to keep Ms. Thomas as the APAH teacher. Ms. Thomas would continue to be a teacher, but would teach a regular History class and an art teacher would take over her AP Art History Class.

Elected officials need to serve for a six (6) year period with no re-election. This would effect all Federal and State officials and after they have served, they would go back into the private sector with NO retirement and/or health benefits. They would serve for the public good. We need to have sensible people who care more about our country and less about making a carreer in politics.

Some may be doing to pay bills, but it still is not legal or fair, to them, but their desperate, and addicted, and the store owners, prey on that and get richer, and richer, and our resisdents become or remain, poverty stricken, drug addiction, homelessness, and other health issues, such as cancer,emphysema, (cigerettes or also purched with link in these facilities) child abuse and or neglect continues, all which ultimately take from our Communities.

The Average wait for increase of Benefits is 4 years, sometimes 5. If the illness or injury occurs while in Active Duty the U.S Government has no right to force the Veteran to fight in court for the obvious.This wastes tax payers money and places a burden on the Honorably Discharged Service Member who suffers economically to carry the burden of Co-Payment fees in which She or He needs for survival. The current state of the system is a waiting game to see whether the Servicemember will pass away before recieveing the increase which will be used to shoulder the burden of pharmicudical costs along with Doctors and Dentists. I never would believe in my wildest dreams imagine that I would be begging the Government for my fair due while I laid in the Medical Sickbay suffering from an illiness which almost took my life in 2002.

Corporations are not people and should not have been granted rights by the Supreme Court. Rights were not granted by the Constitution or by the 14th Amendment. Only people should have rights.

The Federal Reserve System is a tool of international bankers to turn us all into debt slaves. Over the past 100 years it has devalued our currency by about 95%. It is long past time to put an end to this corrupt, illegal and unconstitutional system.

Each year, thousands of teens and young adults fall victim to some type of assault, either physical or sexual in nature. Date rape, dating violence, and abductions are rampant in America, from small towns to urban areas across the country. I propose legislation including instruction in public schools on recognizing the potential for violence to occur in a relationship, gaining self-respect and confidence to deal with these situations, and having the ability to protect themselves should they find themselves victims to violence.

We need to get the Citizens United decision overturned. This decision has opend the flood gates of money that can change an election by 'buying it' as what happened in Wisconsin. This decision will completely shut the door on people who WANT to bring change, but cannot compete because of outside money. If this continues... very simply put, the 'wealthiest' will have their representation, and 'working poor' as they are called now, will be left behind. Is that what our Founding Fathers wanted?...Is this OUR democracy?? I don't think so?...and as long as I have oxygen in my lungs, I will not stay silent when I see people 'buying' power in our country!. The right wing agenda has pointed out since this decision that the unions of the country, (what's left of them) can pour money into politics too...However, if anyone has paid attention, union membership in the private sector is almost disapated, the public unions are trying to hang on to what they have. However they cannot compete with the outside private $$$. If this continues, the right will have everything they have wanted, while the rest of us get 'scraps'. This is the most critical issue in our country... GET MONEY OUT!..OR LIMIT IT... to level the field. It should be about a candidates record/performance and qualifications, not how much money he can raise. Something has to be done, otherwise it will forever change the United States as we know it.
