The proposed zoning ordinance would make changes to eliminate unnecessary administrative burdens and fees for home-based providers, align Detroit zoning regulations for child care to similar business entities, and facilitate greater community collaboration for child care options to expand in a given community.  High-quality child care is crucial to ensure healthy, thriving families, children, and communities: • Early childhood education sets kids up for successful futures with lasting academic benefits well beyond high school; • Child care enables parents to remain in the labor force, increasing household income, boosting economic productivity, and benefiting their community, while ensuring that infants and toddlers are in a safe and nurturing environment; and; • Availability of child care facilities and services helps communities grow by attracting new residents – especially young families – and businesses whose employees need child care options.

Nobody should be making decisions for parents on what their children can and cannot read. Currently, the KGMS library has a "sexually explicit" section which includes titles such as "Romeo & Juliet" and "Anne Frank's Diary". It is clear the intent is not to protect children but censor their access to themes and ideas they don't agree with. If you want to let the King George School Board and King George Board of Supervisors know that you don't agree with letting other people decide what your child may or may not read, please sign the petition below.

Would you miss him in the hallways, or at the basketball game taking pictures, or going with the track team just to help out. I believe everyone knows Shamar AKA (Shimmy). Dear Mayor Stanfill and the City Council, I am writing to petition for Central Boulevard, which runs from US Highway 77 to Ovilla Road, to be renamed after former Red Oak alum Michelle Carter. Central Boulevard, along with the city, has seen tremendous growth in recent years and is currently the location of Red Oak High School. Carter is an excellent candidate for having the road named after her because she exemplifies what it means to be a champion, both on and off the field. Growing up in Red Oak, TX, it's hard not to think of Olympic Gold medalist, World Champion, NCAA National Champion, seven-time All-American, and four-time UIL State Champion Michelle Carter, especially during the Olympics. Michelle's achievements are not only part of Olympic, NCAA, and Texas history, but they also form a part of Red Oak's history. It's time we recognize this by naming Central Boulevard after her.

As I stated before it is important for us high-schoolers to be able to communicate with our parents for when we feel is necessary. I completely understand the abuse of phones, but as high-schoolers we are old enough to take the responsibility of our consequences for abusing our phones if we even do so. 

Simply terminating our teachers is not a viable solution. Such actions not only send a negative message but also create significant gaps in the safety and support structures that are crucial for our students’ well-being.

It's important for the handicapped folk to feel welcomed. If I can't get in I'm obviously not welcome or it would be just as accessible to us as it is to all fully functioning folks. It's a law to have handicap parking spots and walkways but not doors?😫 It's okay for me to be there parked in the front of the building and then I can easily push my walker or wheelchair onto the sidewalk but I can't go in? 🤷 What's up with that? Enforce laws all the way up to the doorway and then, sorry, you're unable to enter because you can't operate your walking aid and the door at the same time? It can cause a severe accident and someone could be badly hurt 🤕. I don't think anyone wants that lawsuit on their hands. Discrimination, I believe.

Students safety concerns.

In the last few years, SpaceX has caused fires, leaks, explosions, or other disasters near Elon Musk’s $3 billion corporate compound in Texas. A SpaceX launch recently flouted wildlife protections, while burning 7.5 million pounds of fuel, destroying some surrounding wildlife habitats. A New York Times investigation found that Musk’s SpaceX is exploiting federal agencies to achieve its corporate, private space travel mission. Far too often, Elon Musk and mega-corporations like SpaceX believe they can get away with anything. SpaceX and Jeff Bezos’ Blue Origin don’t even have to pay the same taxes as airline companies — taxes that fund air traffic controllers and the safe use of airspace. President Biden has called for private space travel companies to start paying up, and now it’s up to Congress to start taxing Bezos’ and Musk’s companies. Sign the petition: Urge Congress to make Musk’s SpaceX and Bezos’ Blue Origin pay their fair share of taxes for private space travel! Musk and SpaceX have pit the Federal Aviation Administration against the Fish and Wildlife Service and National Park Service, and misled the environmental and wildlife agencies from the very beginning. Every time a SpaceX rocket is launched, the environment and wildlife are at risk. And every time a SpaceX or Blue Origin rocket is launched, these corporations don’t pay the taxes that airlines do to fund air traffic controllers who ensure airspace is clear to prevent collisions. We shouldn’t be handing billionaires even more loopholes to avoid paying their taxes.That’s why President Biden is calling on Congress to raise taxes on SpaceX and Blue Origin.
