It’s important because it shifts public safety from **reaction** to **prevention**, and it creates measurable outcomes instead of slogans. - **Lives:** early intervention + de‑escalation reduces shootings, retaliation, and victimization.   - **Jobs:** it funds paid roles, training, and pathways so people aren’t forced into survival economies.   - **Trust:** communities cooperate more when they see accountable, local solutions—not just after-the-fact punishment.   - **Cost:** prevention is cheaper than incarceration, ER trauma care, and long-term instability.   - **National impact:** safer communities strengthen the whole country—economically, socially, and politically.

The Trump administration's Department of the Interior is forcing the removal or censoring of national parks exhibits that share factually accurate and relevant U.S. history and scientific knowledge. This campaign has escalated in recent weeks. The Trump administration has issued directives to National Park Service staff to remove many exhibits across the country, including ones that discuss the history of slavery and enslaved people, civil rights, the treatment of Indigenous peoples, and climate science. The effects of climate change on our nation's most iconic landscapes and sensitive natural resources are real; simply deleting references to climate science and impacts does not reduce the harm being done. Your help is needed to keep science and history from being removed and censored from America's largest classroom—our national parks! Tell U.S. Secretary of the Interior Doug Burgum to stop erasing science and history from exhibits within the National Park Service.

This legislation in Kansas is just another example of how states, empowered by Trump’s federal rollbacks, are introducing policies that compromise our civil rights. And the people most impacted by these hostile environments are vulnerable communities like immigrants and LGBTQ+ folks. People are already challenging this unconstitutional legislation, with one attorney calling it a “state-sanctioned attack on transgender people aimed at silencing, dehumanizing, and alienating Kansans whose gender identity does not conform to the state legislature’s preferences.” The courts must strike down this legislation as unconstitutional—and set a precedent that no one be discriminated against for their gender identity. 

272 members of Congress failed to meet the moment and save lives: 53 senators and 219 representatives chose complicity and more violence by rejecting a bipartisan war powers resolution to stop Trump’s illegal war on Iran — an unjustified war of choice that has killed over a thousand people, including six U.S. servicemembers. Their votes were out of touch with the overwhelmingly anti-war majority of people who reject another endless war and Congress’ lack of constitutional authority over war and peace. This is an important location for our community as a whole. It is a wonderful place to take the family during the summer. If offers a break from the hustle and bustle of the world around. It is a place for a person to come find their inner peace and reflect. It is a wonderful place to bring your pets to cool off in the heat of summer. The location has so much potential as a place of peace, fun, and good times for our community. For years the property was maintained relatively well, but this past year it was completely trashed and destroyed leading to the owners closing it down. WCMC actively supports Alabama's abortion ban — with no exceptions for rape or incest. This ban carries penalties of up to 99 years in prison for providers and has created a documented crisis in all pregnancy-related care. Doctors across Alabama are delaying or denying standard miscarriage treatment for fear of prosecution, since miscarriage and abortion are often clinically indistinguishable. Alabama already has the third-highest maternal mortality rate in the nation. Nearly half of all pregnancy-related criminal prosecutions in the U.S. in the first year after Dobbs came from Alabama alone. WCMC is a Crisis Pregnancy Center (CPC). WCMC is not a neutral healthcare resource. It is a pro-life advocacy organization operating under the guise of medical care. Sponsoring their public events is not a charitable act — it is a medical ethics issue.     Women's Care Medical Center presents itself as a pregnancy resource clinic. What it actually operates as is what medical and public health professionals describe as a "crisis pregnancy center" (CPC) — a category of facility specifically designed to intercept people facing unplanned pregnancies and steer them away from abortion, and often away from contraception, using tactics that medical authorities have repeatedly condemned as deceptive and harmful.   The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) — the foremost authority governing the specialty practiced at your clinic — has formally identified CPCs as institutions that "use deception, delay tactics, and disinformation," undermining "the tenets of informed consent and patient autonomy." According to ACOG's data, 71% of CPCs use deceptive means. WCMC runs an abstinence-only program targeting Baldwin County students. Under the name "Optimal Truth of WCMC" (baldwincountysra.org), WCMC operates a federally-defined "Sexual Risk Avoidance" program — abstinence-only education rebranded — aimed at middle and high schoolers across all Baldwin County public schools. Part of the curriculum is to burn paper hearts in the classroom, telling students that they "will never be whole again" if they have sex before marriage and that contraception isn't safe. Alabama's own public health data shows this approach is failing: the state has the 5th-highest teen birth rate in the nation and ranks 7th in overall STD rates, 4th in gonorrhea. Federal investigations have found that over 80% of abstinence-only curricula contain false or misleading information about reproductive health. The downstream consequences walk into your exam rooms every day. We are not asking you to take a political position. We are asking you to uphold your medical ones. As the Lead Organizer for this initiative, I am submitting this document to formally request that the Williamsport City Council and the City of Williamsport Codes Department take immediate administrative, legal, and legislative action to facilitate the closure of this facility. While we acknowledge previous statements regarding the "short-term" nature of this site, the undersigned community members remain concerned about: • Community Stability: The impact of a federal enforcement hub on our local business district. • Mission Creep: The potential for this site to transition into long-term detention or a regional transit hub. • Resource Allocation: The need for total transparency regarding the use of local emergency services and personnel. Specifically, we are requesting that the Board: 1. Introduce a formal resolution opposing the facility’s continued operation. 2. Conduct a formal review of zoning and occupancy permits. 3. Cease all discretionary cooperation between County departments and this federal facility. 4. Confirm that no county-funded resources are being utilized for federal housing or busing operations. Casey Means did not complete her medical residency, and doesn't hold an active medical license. Even Trump's first surgeon general, Dr. Jerome Adams, says "it is incomprehensible that the Senate is even considering a nominee for this role who lacks any active license and has never practiced unsupervised". She has pushed an anti-science agenda that threats America’s public health. Means has pushed back against birth control pills, calling them a “disrespect of life,” opposed “needless” IVF, said Americans "use birth control pills like candy", claimed-contrary to established science-that hormonal birth control has "horrifying health risks" for women, and questioned the need for infants to be vaccinated against hepatitis B. During her Senate confirmation hearing, Casey Means refused to commit to urging the public to get vaccinated for measles, flu or whooping cough despite the alarming spread of these preventable diseases among unvaccinated Americans under the Trump administration’s anti-vax agenda. She is a biotech industry insider with substantial wellness industry conflicts of interest. Means also has a history of failing to disclose sponsorship relationships in social media posts promoting wellness products. Public Citizen found that she “failed to disclose her relationship 79 out of 140 (56%) times she promoted products from companies with which she has financial relationships.”  An unqualified wellness influencer should never be leader of the U.S. Public Health Service.  Casey Means is a dangerous threat to America's health. Tell your Senators to oppose her nomination now! 

A horrific death toll across the Middle East is quickly rising as a result of illegal U.S.-Israeli attacks on Iran: Among those killed are nearly 150 people at a girls’ elementary school in Iran, three U.S. servicemembers, and at least nine people in the Israeli city of Beit Shemesh. Trump upended promising diplomatic negotiations with missiles and fighter jets. The violence quickly spread across the region, with reports of strikes in Israel, Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, Kuwait, Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, and Bahrain. Today, the bombs continue to fall, and hundreds of millions of people across the Middle East are terrified and directly in harm’s way. Congress cannot stay on the sidelines any longer. We must do all we can to stop the violence immediately. The House and the Senate must pass war powers resolutions (WPR) to end this war before it spirals further. The stakes are perilous, but votes are already being planned. As lawmakers decide how to respond, they need to hear the demands of their constituents — our overwhelming anti-war majority — to vote YES on the WPR.

The branches of the federal government (the legislative, executive, and judicial) are abdicating their Constitutional duties, checks and balances, and making decisions based on partisanship, allowing violations of the Constitution with no consequences.  • The Supreme Court on July 1, 2024, ruled that former President Trump is at least presumptively immune from criminal liability for his official acts. However, our Constitution clearly states that NO ONE is above the law, definitely those who have taken “an oath.” • The United States Senate’s impeachment trials (Article I, Section 3) provide evidence that the Constitution has been violated by members of Congress, the executive, and judicial branches (Article I, Section 9; Article II, Section 4;  Article VI); however, no one has been convicted or removed due to partisanship. OUR FOUNDING FATHERS: Our Declaration of Independence states, whenever any form of government becomes destructive, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness. • George Washington's Farewell Address warns against hyper-partisanship and factions, and stresses adherence to the Constitution and public virtue. He advised leaders to serve the common good and respect governmental checks and balances. • Alexander Hamilton was concerned that an “unprincipled” man would “mount the hobby horse of popularity” and “throw things into confusion. In a government like ours.” He would write, “No one is above the law.” In 2025, George Washington and Alexander Hamilton’s concerns have come to pass with Trump. It would be naïve to think Trump’s cronies and the younger generations watching federal officials will stop trying to silence journalists, threatening physical harm to political opponents, and denying Citizens' right to earn a livelihood. HOW TO AMEND THE CONSTITUTION NOW? HOW. WE THE PEOPLE URGE that two-thirds of both Houses of Congress vote in favor and propose to the States an amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Then, WE THE PEOPLE URGE that the Legislatures of three-fourths of the several States ratify the amendment (Article V). THE ALTERNATIVE IS TO ELECT ACCOUNTABLE REPRESENTATIVES. • Article I states, “the right of the people to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.”  • Article X states, “The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.” We have the technology and the processes, which were not available when the Constitution was originally ratified in a convention on September 17, 1789. • TECHNOLOGY. In 1982, without the internet, Gregory Watson, a 19-year-old college sophomore, initiated a long-term campaign for Amendment 27, which was proposed in 1789 as part of the original Bill of Rights and finally ratified on May 7, 1992.  • RECALL PROCESS. 20 States (AZ, CA, CO, MI, NV, ND, WI, AK, GA, ID, IL, KS, LA, MN, MT, NJ, OR, RI, WA, VA) have recall elections, allowing citizens to attempt to remove from office elected State officials.

Scouting has always been about preparing young people for leadership, service, and responsible citizenship. The Citizenship in Society merit badge and related DEI initiatives were not political add-ons — they were tools to help Scouts develop essential leadership skills. In today’s world, leadership requires the ability to: • Engage respectfully with people from different backgrounds • Recognize and manage bias • Navigate disagreement without hostility • Build trust across differences These are not partisan concepts. They are core citizenship competencies. Removing structured opportunities for Scouts to learn and practice these skills sends the message that navigating diversity is optional rather than essential. It narrows the definition of citizenship at a time when young people need broader preparation, not less. This petition is not about ideology. It is about leadership development. Parents, volunteers, alumni, and community members should care because: • Scouting’s credibility depends on preparing youth for the real world. • Character is strengthened through exposure to different perspectives, not isolation from them. • The Scout Oath and Law call for respect, fairness, and service to others — values that require understanding and inclusion. If Scouting retreats from teaching inclusive citizenship, it risks weakening the very foundation it claims to uphold. Those who believe Scouting should prepare young people to lead in a complex and diverse society have a responsibility to speak clearly and constructively. This is that moment.
