Due process and civil rights are being brashly violated by the crushing pressure from Congress to have the citizenship pay for a debt they had no foreknowledge about, while those responsible and gained personal profits from that debt are getting an ‘out-of-jail-free’ card. Only a thorough in-depth investigation by a federal Grand Jury can assure the American citizens living in Puerto Rico that the sacrifices being imposed by the governmental entities are fair and equitable.

Many passionate teachers are losing their jobs over the cut of state funding. We need these electives and teachers to educate the future generations. These electives are needed because they educate students about future careers and lifetime skills.

Children who are thriving in the long-term care of guardians are being returned to biological parents after years of absence simply because the courts are required to consider the rights of the parents, even when it is clearly detrimental to the child. The right of the child to a loving, happy, healthy environment should supersede the rights of all others.

On April 26th the Truckee Planning Commission will decide whether or not Grocery Outlet can build a new store across Donner Pass Road from Safeway. Our community has demonstrated repeatedly in the last year that sustainability is a primary concern. This project is a step backward for town sustainability. It is redundant given our current options of Safeway, Savemart, and New Moon, not to mention the approved Raley’s and Railyard grocery stores. How many grocery stores does Truckee need? The project does not increase access to an under-served part of town and congests an already crowded thoroughfare. Nearby residents are legitimately concerned that their once sleepy residential streets will be used as an alternate access route. New projects should make the Town of Truckee more livable, not less.

I am a retired public school teacher. I worked for 27 years in a public school district Ohio. I am also a widow. My late husband paid into Social Security and was fully vested. Because Ohio is one of the states affected by the Government Pension Offset (GPO), I cannot receive widow's benefits. If I had worked in a state not affected by GPO, I would be eligible to receive widow's benefits. Many retired public employees in the states listed above cannot receive Social Security benefits that were paid for by themselves or their deceased spouses. We are asking the 115th United States Congress to repeal GPO and WEP.

I have recently learned of APP’s links to PT BRS in Bangka Belitung and of APP’s intention to bring the company on as a supplier. I am calling on APP to implement its policies and respect the rights and demands of the people of Bangka Belitung who have rejected pulp and paper plantations on their traditionally owned land.

With the majority of women in America (67%) being considered plus-sized, many clothing brands still do not cater to this market. Companies such as J. Crew should cater to larger sized people to support both fashion and socially responsible endeavors.

Our Corvallis School District has adopted a sustainability policy, its own Sustainability Task Force has recommended establishing the Sustainability Coordinator position to implement the policy, and the Board has created a salary position for putting it in the upcoming 2018 budget. Now they can make great progress for sustainability in the district, putting legs on its policy, by funding the position. Testimony to the Budget Committee can be made on May 3rd.

We live in Gaithersburg and many communities are situated around the CSX train lines. This is unavoidable due to urban development and housing costs. We ask that the cargo trains have a little consideration when blowing their horns because many of us have young children that need their sleep.

I'm starting this petition because when I was younger, I bought the ticket to support their harming of these extraordinary creatures, and now I'd like to return it for a better deal. I would like to return it for their lives in the wild where we all know they want and deserve to be.
