• Indiana Deer Herd
I am starting this petition for our deer herd and for our future generations so there will be deer for them to hunt. Right now we are on track to wipe out the deer herd as a whole, as you can see in the last 5 years of deer harvest numbers each year is lower and lower.

  • Take the Muzzle Off Science
The Trump Administration does not believe in facts because facts -- evidence -- provide proof of things that he, and/or his base, do not want to believe are true. We are all at risk if scientists and health care providers are not allowed to use the language of science and medicine. Censorship is the refuge of dictators.

  • DRBC: Fix your unjust comment process on fracking rules
The Delaware River Basin Commission (DRBC) is banning hydraulic fracturing throughout the basin. If that was the full story, I’d be off somewhere celebrating, not starting a petition. Since 2010, processing of fracking waste and extraction of water for fracking outside of the basin have been prohibited. As the Commission plans to take one important step forward by turning the fracking moratorium into a ban, it plans to take two giant steps backward by lifting the prohibitions and opting to regulate both activities. The DRBC issued its draft regulations on November 30th. In the few years that I’ve been attending their meetings, I’ve seen a concerning erosion of the public’s ability to participate. The public participation process the DRBC has announced for commenting on the draft regulations is the most unjust one yet. Earlier this week, I commented at a public meeting of the Delaware River Basin Commission. I told the Commissioners that the process for commenting on the fracking regulations is testing the limits of what kind of a process they can put together and still call it public. There are only two hearing dates, both in difficult to access locations in Pennsylvania. There are no hearings planned in New York, New Jersey, or Delaware. One of the locations, Waymart in Wayne County, is on top of a mountain, so it would be difficult to impossible to reach in wintry weather. They have provided no snow dates. The other is at a hotel at the Philadelphia Airport, a location that is virtually inaccessible for people in the city who can’t access public transportation to get there. To make matters worse, they are not taking written comments unless they are submitted via their online portal. You can’t even hand-deliver comments at the hearings. If you want to submit written comment or go to the Hearing without registration, you have to go through another application process and be granted permission to do so. People have to jump over one hurdle after another just to speak their mind. And then there’s this. You MUST register by December 31st to even attend one of the hearings. I’ve started this petition to help pressure the Commissioners into extending the comment period from 90 days to 180 days, add hearings, and remove the nonsensical restrictions. We want an inclusive process so that all who want to speak on one of the most important issues the Commission will ever face get the chance. Please sign our petition calling on the DRBC to create a just process that is inclusive of all of us.

  • "No Taxation Without Representation"
There cannot be a "legitimate vote" on a new tax bill if duly elected Senators are forbidden to take part in that vote strictly because Mitch McConnell, the Majority leader, is manipulating the vote for his parties advantage

  • "No Taxation Without Representation"
The Majority Leader of the Senate is refusing to swear in a DULY ELECTED SENATOR to the United Sates Senate for the sole purpose of manipulating a vote favorable to only HIS PARTY and HIS CASH DONORS. Partisan politics should have no place in either house of Congress. Therefore we demand that he be seated IMMEDIATELY !

  • Save the internet: Overturn the FCC's repeal of Net Neutrality!
July 2018 update: The FCC's repeal of net neutrality went into effect on June 11th. Now it's even more important to get lawmakers to act. Senators passed a resolution to save net neutrality via the Congressional Review Act. It's up to our congressional representatives to do the same. ------- On December 14, the Federal Communications Commission repealed net neutrality, handing control of the internet to Big Telecom. The repeal of net neutrality gives monopolistic internet providers like Verizon, Comcast, and AT&T the power to block, censor, and slow down your favorite sites on the web. 83% of Americans support net neutrality protections. Congress, as the oversight body for the FCC, can overturn this massive giveaway to the telecom industry. Since the FCC voted to end net neutrality, 20 senators have already pledged to reverse the FCC's vote, and we can convince others to join us. We need to build on this momentum -- tell your member of Congress to support the resolution to restore net neutrality now!

  • Tell Congress: Puerto Ricans need government help & transparency now
Here are areas Congress must address to help Puerto Rico: Relief package Congress must move quickly on the $94 billion aid package requested by the Puerto Rican government. The initial $15 billion aid package is far short of what is needed. The generosity of everyday Americans — including groups like the Hispanic Federation and many MoveOn members — helped to provide food and water to those in need. But that's not enough. Puerto Rico needs more disaster aid and the federal government needs to ensure that all funds are distributed fairly, efficiently, and without any further delay. Community-Driven Rebuilding Congress established the Financial Oversight and Management Board (FOMB) to oversee the Island’s debt. The entity is far too removed from Puerto Rico’s communities to properly identify needs and allocate resources. Congress and federal agencies should explore alternatives to the unelected FOMB that rely on existing structures, precedent, and the leadership of disaster recovery and reconstruction experts working hand-in-hand with affected communities. Debt relief Puerto Rico's creditors should do the right thing and walk away. It is the only way forward. Anything short of full debt forgiveness would be a brutal form of economic punishment to a people already suffering. Taxes Since the now-passed tax reform legislation treats Puerto Rico as a foreign jurisdiction, tell Congress they must remedy that immediately as well making tax benefits and incentives like the Child Tax Credit and Earned Income Tax Credit available for Puerto Rico's working families. Healthcare 3.4 million Americans live on the island, but Puerto Rico receives only a small portion of the Medicaid funding that it would qualify for as a state. The island’s hospitals and health centers are struggling in the wake of the storm. We all have watched in horror how the death toll has been undercounted—by perhaps 1,000 people, according to credible estimates. With the health of so many at risk, let's provide Medicaid parity while streamlining enrollment to many who are not working and need health care. There's no shortage of compassion and goodwill for Puerto Rico among the American people. But it must be matched by the recognition of our government that the American citizens of Puerto Rico need, demand, and require equal treatment. Please sign this petition to join the work Power 4 Puerto Rico and I are doing to help Puerto Ricans.

  • My TIPS are mine!! Stop the Trump administration and DOL from stealing from the most vulnerable ...
Not only would this proposed change fundamentally shift the tradition and purpose of tipping in our country, it would be the equivalent of stealing from society's most vulnerable to address their shortcomings in paying the untipped kitchen staff. For me, in my best estimates, this would be on average a 23% pay cut. The DOL should NOT change current regulations regarding servers tips!!

  • Congress should take action to protect Net Neutrality
The FCC has voted to reverse the policy of Net Neutrality; despite a letter sent prior to their decision by the Attorney General of New York State. This letter alleges fraudulent negative statements involving possible Identity theft made during the comment period. Congress should suspend implementation of this policy until an investigation of these allegations is made
