• Jerry Brown: Defy Trump and Protect our Children from Pesticides
After meeting with Dow Chemical, Trump's EPA turned its back on our children and reversed its decision to ban the dangerous pesticide, chlorpyrifos. This chemical has been linked to nervous system damage, autism, ADHD and lower IQ in young kids. More than 1 million pounds of this poison is applied to crops in California every year, so a CA ban would send a strong message to the rest of the country. Jerry Brown has the chance to lead where Trump has failed. We need him to know the health of our children comes before Dow's profits.

  • KEEP THE AMERICAN MEDIA FREE- STOP TRUMP TV
We need the American free press to tell us the facts. We do not want Sinclair Broadcasting to spread Trump-o-ganda...we will not be distracted or brainwashed. Freedom of the press is to inform the citizens. Sinclair's "must shows" forcing local news to broadcast alternative facts must be stopped!

  • Mitch McConnell: Repeal the Gun Violence Research Ban
Gun violence has become a public health crisis in America. In 1996, after lobbying by the NRA, Congress passed a ban on gun violence research. In 2015 a bill was introduced in the US House of Representatives to reverse this ban but the bill was never voted on. The US Senate has never attempted to address the ban on gun violence research. Scientists use research to make cars and other products safer as well as identify cancer risks associated with products on the market. Research on gun violence in America must be allowed in order to identify ways to promote gun safety.

  • Getting Deep Money Out Of Politics
I have heard lectures on the subject and it makes sense to me to start with campaign finance reform to begin to elect people who are there to serve the people, not the special interests.

  • Save YOUR Marine Monuments & Ocean Sanctuaries!
President Trump signed an executive order in April that endangers five marine monuments and six national marine sanctuaries in the Pacific Ocean, the Atlantic Ocean, and Great Lakes that protect clean and healthy areas for recreation and wildlife. Oil exploration and drilling, deep sea mining, or intensive commercial fishing could soon be permitted in these places and threaten marine wildlife like whales, seals, seabirds, sea turtles, and recovering fish populations. We can’t let that happen; industrializing these places would take us back, not forward. Our marine monuments and sanctuaries are home to diverse, abundant ocean life and are of significant scientific, historic and cultural value. They contain rare species, endangered marine mammals, seabirds, and sea turtles. Some have pristine coral reefs. Others are spiritually significant to native communities. In many cases, local economies depend on these ocean parks to boost tourism, enable recreation, and conserve healthy fish populations. A public comment period is open until August 15th for you to tell the Trump administration and Secretary of Commerce, Wilbur Ross, who will make recommendations about protecting or trashing these places, how YOU feel about this threat. Please sign this petition to support our monuments and sanctuaries!

  • Democratic Party: Support Women's Rights
When I heard about this excision of women's reproductive rights from the Democratic platform, this felt worse to me, than tRump's and the Republicans' misogyny towards women, because this is a betrayal from those of whom we expect better. Women form 85% of those in the progressive political marches and local progressive political grass roots movements. Join me in withholding donations from the Democratic Party, until they fully support a woman's right to a basic health care decision -- the right to choose contraceptive and reproductive options, including abortion.

  • Justice for Montravious Thomas
While attending Edgewood Student Services, Montravious Thomas was slammed on the floor, as a result his leg had to be amputated. No medical personnel was contacted to have him checked. He was unable to walk and had to be carried to the bus, which was shown on a video that has been released. His mother took him to the emergency room and he had to be air-lifted to Atlanta due to the severity of his injury. The person that slammed him was a contract worker, however, that should not negate accountability. It is important that parents know that their children will be safe and cared for while at school. The members of the Board of Education are our representatives and are to act in the best interest of their constituents. In this case it would be to request the GBI conduct an investigation of Montravious Thomas' injury.

  • Stop Funding Cuts to USDA Rural Development
I just found out about impending funding cuts to the USDA in October. This will negatively impact the opportunity for home ownership in America. It will also impact farmers and rural communities. We need to protect our rights to strong rural communities and home ownership.

  • Demand Sen. Menendez stop endorsing criminalization of free speech
Defeating this bill is critical to the protection of our First Amendment rights. It criminalizes free speech and non-violent political activism that is fundamental to American democracy. That Democrats are endorsing this anti-democratic legislation is contemptible. The failure of almost all of these senators to even acknowledge sponsorship or the existence of S.720 on their websites attests to their awareness of the bill's repugnancy. • Democrats Should be PRO CHOICE
I recently read that the DCCC was drafting candidates that did not have to pass a litmus test for a pro-choice position. We already had a SCOTUS position stolen from us, and the Democratic Party cannot backtrack on a woman's right to control her own body.
