We As Americans Deserve The Right To Keep Our Homes And Have Water, Gas And Electric Utilities In Order To Survive And Thrive Through One Of The Worst Cases Of Distress In Our History!

Because we will be faced with a greater hardship of homelessness along with fighting this virus when we can avoid all of this by not putting stress on citizens who are trying to figure out where and how to get money to pay for rent when our jobs are closed or we been have laid off until further notice. If we have NO Job, we have NO money. It is impossible to make families not only come up with money but all those extra fees that landlords add on top of us each day, or they come up with ridiculous reasons to add any fee. We have babies; we have our elders whom we care for. This is not a time to start an eviction on our families during this critical time. Please consider this petition or any other petitions that are proposed the same as this one. Thank you; hope they listen to Us as The People.

Though the federal or state government may eventually provide relief, the immediate conservation of our limited financial resources is necessary for our own and our family's health and well-being. Rentors, Leasors, banks and other relevant institutions can, as a class seek their own relief; the state and federal government is much more responsive and historically more likely to act on their behalf. We must protect our limited cash flow immediately.

It’s imperative we protect the well being of the American people, whether that be physically, mentally and/or financially in this time of crises. A lot of families have been disrupted financially due to this crises being left without jobs, transportations, baby sitters, etc. hence making it a financial burden to meet their monthly bill requirements which can lead to emotional/mental distress from the fear of losing homes and possessions, not being able provide proper health to their family members due to not of their own fault. I think we can all agree it is should be the priority of the American people to protect the American people in this unknown times. Only together can we prevent from this crises from causing more than necessary hardships to out brothers and sisters. Who will pay for this? As mentioned before we are not asking for a “forgiveness” but rather a law or guideline that protects us for the time being until all order can be restored to normal. And if necessary said financial institutions, lease holders, etc., can file for their own relief and be accommodated quicker as a corporation than a American as an individual.

It is VITAL to ensure that, when this crisis finally passes, funding for the arts is a MAJOR component of the inevitable stimulus packages that will be used to jump-start the economy. Let’s face it -- when this is all over, cultural life in this country won’t simply return to the way it was before the first coronavirus case was diagnosed. Folks in the performing arts -- both individual artists and cultural institutions and organizations -- were ALREADY in precarious financial shape before all of this started. Just look at the Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, as an obvious example. Many of these individuals and entities won’t have the wherewithal to properly resume operations when this all ends. And bookings for individual artists will be terribly scarce. Festivals are going to be bankrupt. Bars and restaurants are going to be looking to slash costs anyway they can to recoup at least a fraction of their losses. Live music (and other performing arts) are going to suffer highly. As such, it is ABSOLUTELY ESSENTIAL for the long-term future of American cultural life that government funding for the arts be DRAMATICALLY increased in the post-COVID period. On the federal, state, AND local levels. I’m talking about massive grants to performing arts organizations, cultural institutions, etc. Grants for public concert series. Direct grants and/or tax breaks to bars and restaurants that feature live music and/or exhibit local artists. Financial assistance for every level of the cultural economy, big and small. This is a fantastic form of economic stimulus, since you can be certain that almost every dollar spent will go right back into the local community. I don't think anyone in the performing arts has ever saved money in an off-shore bank account. Apart from supporting the arts, America is going to be DESPERATE, in the post-crisis period, for anything that allows them to gather with family, friends, and neighbors, and gives them a sense of community and belonging. The cultural events funded by this stimulus package could very do wonders in terms of restored what will no doubt be a bruised and battered American spirit. And look, at every single concert, performance, and other event this stimulus package would support, I'm sure the performers would be more than delighted than to open each show with a statement about how "this performance is made possible by our generous and thoughtful political leaders." Won't that alone make this worthwhile? If this doesn’t happen, I fear that the rich cultural tapestry of the United States will be irrevocably harmed for decades to come.

Small business in neighborhoods throughout Washington State, such as restaurants, bars, cafés, gyms, museums, and retailers, contribute to the vitality and character of our communities in addition to being major contributors to our economy as they create, provide jobs, and deliver goods and services. It is important to support impacted workers during this outbreak. However, workers need small businesses to re-employ them after the outbreak; thus it is critical to also subsidize the small businesses as we subsidize individuals and bail out big businesses. Low interest loans only push small businesses further into debt and eventual bankruptcy without business demand. The small businesses need to pay rent, insurance, and existing debt for seasonal inventory that will not be able to be sold. Loss of business and seasonal inventory cannot be recouped. This extended disruption isn't short-term as vaccination is projected to be at least 18 months out. Unless small businesses are subsidized for this duration to make up for loss of income and loss of inventory, small businesses will not survive to reopen. Imagine only big retailers and chained fast-food to go back to after 18 months. Let's urge our leaders to create a stimulus package for small businesses and pass it quickly.

An unprecedented change in our lifestyles is occurring. We're currently experiencing school shutdowns, furloughs, layoffs, quarantines, social distancing, and food and supply shortages. This is a drastic lifestyle change for the nation. Decades ago, the IRS tax filing was due on March 15th; then it was moved to April 15th. For this year, please postpone this filing until June 15th. This will give American families a slight break in at least one area of stress in their lives at the moment.
