• Nikki's Wolf Pack Rescue
My dogs are my children, they are my ohana, and they mean the whole world to me. We have formed an unbreakable bond and the pack has not been the same since we were all separated. The Kona Humane Society broke the law, lied to police, and lied to me about my dogs whereabouts. They intentionally tried to keep my dogs from me, despite them being registered as emotional support animals that I have had for the last 13 years of my life. Every day gets harder to live without Keebler, Ayda, and Remedy and we all need to be reunited as soon as possible! Please sign my petition and share it with your friends. • Food Justice for CSU
We need to focus on providing more accessible food relief for Colorado State University students experiencing food insecurity. According to a CSU survey conducted in the Fall of 2013, approximately 10% of students at Colorado State University experience food insecurity. According to a 2019 petition by social work students, 3 out of 10 students face food insecurity at CSU. Rams take care of Rams. Our community is committed to solving food insecurity. This year's Giving Tuesday, Colorado State University raised more than $100,000 for Rams Against Hunger, providing 13,352 meals for students. Our ASCSU administration is also committed to solving this crisis. We have pocket pantries that provide free food across campus. We have the mobile food pantry that comes to campus once a month for two hours where students can get up to 20 pounds of food. But the average person consumes an estimated 4 pounds of food a day. This is not enough. At this rate, students who are relying solely on the mobile food pantry do not have enough food to last a week, let alone a month. It takes more than an hour for a student to travel from the CSU campus to the Larimer County Food Bank using the city bus system. Oftentimes, students do not have the during the weekday to take an over two-hour journey for free healthy food. RamRide only runs in the late evenings Thursday-Saturday when the food bank is closed. RamRide does not have enough funding or volunteers to extend its hours so that they may bring students to the food bank. Our students without a car also struggle with carrying the weight of groceries long distances. Imagine having to carry over 20 pounds of food while walking back to your home, riding your bike, or taking the city busses. Our students need better transportation for food. Our commitment to solving this problem can continue. We need to call on the University to extend their support of our food-insecure students by funding RamRide so that everyone has increased access to healthy food. We must further show that Rams do take care of Rams.

  • Stop the vote/recommendation for random drug testing in Plainwell Community Schools
The American Academy of Pediatrics does not support random drug testing in schools. We are encouraged to see the Google document shared by Principal Wright. We look forward to working together to fulfill and expand upon the present and future work listed. We ALL care about our children/students and we are on the same team. It is time we start working together as such.

  • Remove Rep Dottie Bailey from the Missouri Secondary and Elementary Education Committee
As a veteran Missouri teacher, I understand Rep Bailey's intent is to defund and privatize our public schools.

  • Dottie Bailey: Resign from the House Elementary and Secondary Education Committee
I am a veteran Missouri public school teacher and I have followed Rep Bailey's rise in Missouri politics. Rep Bailey has very active social media accounts in which she attacks her constituents, she has threatened to use loaded guns for violent encounters, and she frequently uses anti-Semitic slurs. Rep Bailey has accepted money from those determined to privatize our schools and dismantle our local school boards. She has also been celebrated publicly by ALEC for her support of charter schools. Rep Bailey's appointment to the Missouri Education Committee is potentially dangerous to public schools and Missouri's children.

  • PMSD School Board Election Results
Seems simple enough, doesn't it? If there is a vacancy, the candidate with the highest number of votes should win, right? The creation of this petition is so that the community can be heard…so that our votes will be counted! November 5, 2019, Municipal Elections, Region 1, Monroe County, Pennsylvania. There were 2 school board seats on the ballot. There was only 1 candidate, the SAME candidate, on the ballot for both seats; and he won both…a 2yr term and a 4yr term. As such, he is required to choose one seat and forfeit the other. There was a write-in candidate. He took a few hundred votes, second to the winning candidate. It may surprise you that this doesn't matter…that the votes won't count. They won't count because the school board will ultimately decide who will take the forfeited seat. There is even speculation that it will be a board member who LOST their seat in the primaries, which is why this matters…because VOTES matter. What would it say to the community if the PMSD School Board filled the forfeited seat with someone who was unequivocally voted OUT in the May primaries? It is for the power of the VOTE that this petition was created. All VOTES matter. Please, hear the community, and honor democracy by certifying the candidate with the second highest votes to take the forfeited seat.

  • School lunch should be free
No child should get humiliated for not being able to pay for school lunch. Sometimes that's the only meal a child receives and they depend or rely on that to cure their hunger. My son was told to throw his food away, just because it wasn't open. Now, I don't understand why anyone would do that to a child. Now, my kids don't go hungry; they are very well fed. It's just not right that there are children out there starving and that one school meal could just be what gets them through the day.

  • Thank you for being a Forest Schools for Illinois Champion!
Senator Ram Villivalam and Representative Will Guzzardi have agreed to sponsor the Forest Schools for Illinois bill in the state Senate and House. We're so glad to have these progressive champions fight to bring outdoor preschools to Illinois!

  • Forest Schools for Illinois
In August of 2019, Chicago's Forest Playschool in North Park Village, an outdoor preschool that had been opened for 5 years and had served 200+ families, was forced to close. Forest Playschool was unable to be licensed under the current daycare regulations because those regulations do not allow for outdoor early learning centers. A growing body of research shows that outdoor play and learning is of vital importance for children, contributing greatly to their mental, physical, spiritual, and academic development. And yet, today's children are given 25% less playtime and 50% less unstructured outdoor time than generations before them, leading to increases in childhood nearsightedness, anxiety, ADHD, obesity, and more. Schools like the Forest Playschool can help directly address these problems, but there is currently no legal pathway for them to operate in Illinois. Join me in signing a petition to ask the Illinois State House and Senate to pass a bill to legalize and standardize outdoor preschools in the State of Illinois! • Business Plan Development Classroom Course MGMT 4371
Currently, Texas A&M- San Antonio only provides an online course for MGMT 4371 -Entrepreneurship: Business Plan Development. This should be allowed to be an option for students, especially since this is a 400 level course. I have also heard of several students dropping the online course due to the learning experience being limited and unsuccessful.

  • Safe and Supportive Student Act
We are starting this petition because we want the safety of students and the community, as students ourselves. We want everyone to be safe and to thrive in a welcoming community without the fear of gun violence through The Judith S. Kaye and Supportive Schools Act (S.0767/A. 1982).

  • Go Back to the Old Food Ordering System
The new food ordering system is unjust and inconvenient. The kiosk system should be removed completely or students who order at the kiosk should receive their food immediately and be placed before those who ordered online.
