Donald Trump is pulling us out of the Paris Climate Agreement, and he has stacked his cabinet with Big Oil billionaires and Wall Street executives who are trying to rollback all the progress we've made on climate change. Their greed and bigotry is literally threatening our survival, and we must outright reject it. The only way we can stop him is by building state and local resistance that can get in his way, while we continue to build solutions from the grassroots. Most election cycles focus on Presidential and Congressional elections -- but we know that change doesn't come from the top. And by neglecting the power and importance of local elections, we fall into the trap of playing the big money game that makes Washington, DC toxic and dysfunctional. It's time to change the game and get behind local leaders who can take our democracy back, stop threatening fossil fuel projects, and demonstrate the type of bold leadership we need on climate change. Local leaders are starting to run for office, and if we double-down on this strategy we can elect the next generation of bold progressive leaders who will stand for people over profit. Local elections are often decided by only 500-1000 votes, so if we team up, we can have a huge impact. Whether it's donating $27 or volunteering for 2 hours to call local voters to remind them to vote, our impact will add up. It's time to stop waiting for the same old corrupt politicians in Washington, DC to to save us. And it’s time to start investing in a new generation of leaders to take power and lead locally. Let's do it.

In the wake of a daylight open rescue showing horrific abuse of animals in San Francisco, the Board of Supervisors has been presented with an animal bill of rights, which offers incremental progress towards the full abolition of animal exploitation. The first tier of this bill of rights asks the city to acknowledge the suffering of animals and legally require all city officials to account for animal suffering in its decisions and policy. By bearing witness to this suffering, city officials will be forced to justify the violence. Every city action that harms animals -- from "pest" management to food policy -- will be subject to public scrutiny and debate. The public will quickly see there is not justification for animal-abusing policies and decisions, setting the city (and state) up for a full animal bill of rights.

I am concerned about climate change, how it will affect the planet over the next 20-50 years, how it will affect every person young or old over the short and long term, and the need to work together to effect change.

This petition is an expression to one another and to the world that we, the people of the United States, support the Paris Agreement and remain committed to mitigating climate change.

We need to protect our Great Lakes. Reverse Trump's decision and force him to protect these valuable fresh water sources.

We must do everything we can to protect our Public Lands from the devastating effects of fracking and drilling. Climate Change is the largest existential threat that faces humanity and it is time to aggressively combat it and move to a Clean Energy Economy. This will put tens of thousands of Ohioans back to work in the renewable sector and create over one-hundred fifty thousand construction jobs needed to build up the infrastructure and grid. We need to make Ohio a leader in energy policy and combating Climate Change, and it all starts with us telling our legislatures that we will not accept them selling out Public Land to their Fossil Fuel Donors!!

California’s coastline is one of the most majestic places in the whole world. Millions of families here at home and around the world enjoy our beaches every year. Yet Donald Trump and Congressman Dana Rohrabacher want to expand offshore oil drilling, which would devastate marine life, threaten fragile beaches, and jeopardize the economies of coastal communities like Orange County.

As a young traveler, I've met people from around the world disappointed by the American drop-off in climate action leadership. But with its own progressive steps, California continues to hold the torch of inspiration. Let us fan those flames, so that America may remain a beacon of light for humanity.

We, the undersigned residents of the Islip Township, appeal to the Islip Town Board to fulfill its commitment to the local community in protecting our economic and environmental viability by not only complying with Governor Cuomo’s Clean Energy Standard, but exceeding its expectations. We call upon the Islip Town Board to set an official goal for being powered by 100% renewable electricity by the year 2030. We request this be done in order to reduce energy costs, encourage job growth, preserve local ecosystems, slow the rise of global temperatures that cause climate change and we ask that the Islip Town Board also take into account the environmental impact of all of its decisions in any policy made, and consider the example that they set for both other townships and the upcoming generations.

The issue of our time is solving the consequences of climate change. The very survival of life as we know it on planet earth is in jeopardy. We must fully fund the Environmental Protection Agency, the agency charged with protecting our environment.

Florida is surrounded by beaches. Living so close to the ocean is absolutely wonderful, but the grocery bags we use when shopping have caused extreme amounts of danger to the sea life in our oceans. Sea turtles think that the grocery bags floating around in the water are jellyfish and they try to eat it. Sea turtles are unable to digest plastic, thus making them feel full constantly. By feeling full they are unlikely to eat more causing them to starve to death. The sea turtle conservatory claims that over 100 million sea turtles die each year due to plastic in the ocean. By banning the use of plastic bags in Florida, the sea life will thank us.

Dear Party Secretary Mr. Mo Gong Ming, We are writing to you asking you to make this ban permanent and take a lead in animal welfare in China by permanently banning dog meat in Yulin. With the recent action in South Korea, the momentum is shifting. The world is watching. Please do what is right for the dogs.
