Florida is surrounded by beaches. Living so close to the ocean is absolutely wonderful, but the grocery bags we use when shopping have caused extreme amounts of danger to the sea life in our oceans. Sea turtles think that the grocery bags floating around in the water are jellyfish and they try to eat it. Sea turtles are unable to digest plastic, thus making them feel full constantly. By feeling full they are unlikely to eat more causing them to starve to death. The sea turtle conservatory claims that over 100 million sea turtles die each year due to plastic in the ocean. By banning the use of plastic bags in Florida, the sea life will thank us.

NORTHERN NH Opposes the Northern Pass that would install massive unsightly towers, rip through the White Mountains impacting towns, tourism, scenic vistas, water quality and wildlife. HydroQuebec clear-cuts carbon-trapping forests, poisons water and has left salmon near extinction.

By supporting the 301h sewage waiver, Surfrider Foundation has betrayed the surfing community. Saving money is not a good reason to allow the ocean to be treated as a toilet. The Trump Administration is considering pulling the United States out of the Paris Agreement, currently the world’s best chance at slowing climate change. The Paris Agreement is an agreement dealing with greenhouse gases emissions mitigation, adaptation and finance starting in the year 2020. The language of the agreement was negotiated by representatives of 195 countries at the 21st Conference of the Parties of the UNFCCC in Paris and adopted by consensus. Climate change may be the most important challenge humanity has ever faced. The Paris Agreement -- ratified last year -- stands as an unprecedented global pact among 196 nations to take steps to prevent catastrophic climate change and ensure a cleaner, safer planet for future generations. U.S. participation in the agreement deserves our support more than ever to ensure it remains strong. The Obama administration had promised the world that the United States would reduce its emissions by 26 to 28 percent below its 2005 levels by the year 2025. If the United States pulls out it will effectively be the end of the agreement.

Everyone is affected by climate change and the resulting damage to environment, health and economic prosperity.
