Ask Governor Kate Brown to join the Climate AllianceIt is appalling that our president has chosen a short-sighted policy of climate change denial in the face of urgent need for action to avoid irreparable damage to our planet. Thoughtful people agree that meaningful action to prevent harm to our planet will need to be local, as we cannot rely on our national government to act. Please join me in asking Governor Brown to join with New York, Washington state, and California in honoring the goals of the Paris climate agreement with local action!112 of 200 SignaturesCreated by celene okeson

Tell Gov. Hickenlooper: Colorado must join the U.S. Climate AllianceColorado is home to incommensurable natural treasures. Our state thrives on its outdoors. It is part of its identity. And yet our legislators are still committed to an obsolete industry, oil and gas, that puts everybody in Colorado and the entire planet in danger. Our beautiful rivers, mountains and forest should be an absolute priority. Our children deserve to inherit a world full of animals, water, clean blue skies and trees.2,324 of 3,000 SignaturesCreated by Fulvia Serra

CEOs: Protest Paris withdrawal by resigning from Trump's business councilYou and/or your company have publicly supported the Paris climate agreement. Trump has now withdrawn. Tesla/SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has already resigned in protest, and you should follow his lead. As a business leader and public figure, you can step down from Trump's Business Advisory council and send a message to your customers, the US, and the world that despite Trump's shameful actions, the United States still understands that climate science is real and that action is urgently necessary.923 of 1,000 SignaturesCreated by Ben Wikler

Pledge to support candidates running for local office who would uphold the Paris Climate AgreementDonald Trump is pulling us out of the Paris Climate Agreement, and he has stacked his cabinet with Big Oil billionaires and Wall Street executives who are trying to rollback all the progress we've made on climate change. Their greed and bigotry is literally threatening our survival, and we must outright reject it. The only way we can stop him is by building state and local resistance that can get in his way, while we continue to build solutions from the grassroots. Most election cycles focus on Presidential and Congressional elections -- but we know that change doesn't come from the top. And by neglecting the power and importance of local elections, we fall into the trap of playing the big money game that makes Washington, DC toxic and dysfunctional. It's time to change the game and get behind local leaders who can take our democracy back, stop threatening fossil fuel projects, and demonstrate the type of bold leadership we need on climate change. Local leaders are starting to run for office, and if we double-down on this strategy we can elect the next generation of bold progressive leaders who will stand for people over profit. Local elections are often decided by only 500-1000 votes, so if we team up, we can have a huge impact. Whether it's donating $27 or volunteering for 2 hours to call local voters to remind them to vote, our impact will add up. It's time to stop waiting for the same old corrupt politicians in Washington, DC to to save us. And it’s time to start investing in a new generation of leaders to take power and lead locally. Let's do it.52 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Whit Jones

SF Mayor Lee: Pass the First Tier of the Animal Bill of RightsIn the wake of a daylight open rescue showing horrific abuse of animals in San Francisco, the Board of Supervisors has been presented with an animal bill of rights, which offers incremental progress towards the full abolition of animal exploitation. The first tier of this bill of rights asks the city to acknowledge the suffering of animals and legally require all city officials to account for animal suffering in its decisions and policy. By bearing witness to this suffering, city officials will be forced to justify the violence. Every city action that harms animals -- from "pest" management to food policy -- will be subject to public scrutiny and debate. The public will quickly see there is not justification for animal-abusing policies and decisions, setting the city (and state) up for a full animal bill of rights.4,706 of 5,000 SignaturesCreated by Direct Action Everywhere (DxE)
