Republican presidential nominee and so-called "president-elect" Donald Trump wants to harm our environment with his own dangerous anti-environment agenda. He wants to tear down forests for housing and construction development just like he wants to ban Muslims from entering the United States. Also, Donald Trump would threaten endangered species by forcing them to go extinct like dinosaurs by having them killed by hunters. We want the National Wildlife Federation to stop Donald Trump and his dangerous anti-environment agenda and save our forests, habitats, swamps and endangered species.

People either don't realize that they themselves have an impact on the health of our environment or they out right deny the fact. Some of this curviness is in Charlestown where the rails were originally built to serve the mill towns or follow natural features. The new rail lines would rejoin the old rail bed in the Great Swamp Management Area in South Kingstown where a third rail would be added to increase the railroad width by 50%. Wetlands would be filled in Burlingame and the Great Swamp Management Areas. Blasting and trenching would be needed to get through hills and keep the train at a steady elevation. A small area of Narragansett Tribal Land will also likely have wetlands filled in the Indian Cedar Swamp. There would likely be one or more temporary staging areas in the Great Swamp in South Kingstown to facilitate development of a third rail. We urge you to support Intro 495, a.k.a. The Waste Equity Bill, which seeks to unburden communities in The Bronx, Brooklyn, and Queens that handle an unfair 80% of NYC's garbage. Each borough needs to take care of their fair share and the South Bronx shouldn't be saddled with over 30% of the city's garbage. We are already suffering an epidemic crisis with the highest rates of asthma in the nation. This city's economics must not continue to be prioritized over the health of our communities. Not only do we deserve better from our elected officials trusted with our health and environment, but we demand better.

After completion of the Superfund cleanup of the Rocky Flats industrial area, the Department of Energy transferred about 7 square miles of land to U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service (FWS) to operate as a Wildlife Refuge. The Refuge surrounds 2 square miles of land that are still on the Superfund list of the most contaminated places in the country. Highly toxic radioactive plutonium in the environment of this Superfund site will make its way onto the Refuge where it can be readily inhaled, the worst way to be exposed to plutonium. FWS is now curtailing activities at Refuges in western states due to lack of funds. By keeping the Rocky Flats Refuge closed to the public, FWS can prevent harm from exposure to plutonium and also save money .

The Trump transition team has sent a questionnaire to Dept. of Energy employees asking about their involvement in climate change issues. They need support to prevent climate science from being overrun by political considerations. This affects all of us! Climate change is acknowledged as a real issue by Fortune 500 companies, insurance companies, states and local governments (see Miami Beach), all of whom are making plans to deal with it. We should not get rid of our information assets on this topic.

StateImpact PA broke the news that Yesenia Bane, a special assistant to Governor Tom Wolf, is married to an oil and gas industry lobbyist. Her connection to the industry may be news, but we've known since the beginning of Wolf's campaign that he was surrounding himself with advisors and cabinet members with ties to the industry. Several, like Katie McGinty, John Hanger, and even Ed Rendell, his former boss and mentor, are surely dizzy from all the spins they've taken in the revolving door between PA state government and the oil and gas industry. They have made it easy for him to ignore the calls for help from the countless Pennsylvanians who have been profoundly harmed by fracking and related infrastructure, to ignore the scientists who have met with him, to ignore the 900 peer-reviewed studies that collectively make the case for a ban on fracking, and to consistently put the interests of the industry above those of the people he was elected to serve. He must fire Bane, scrub the oil and gas out of his entire administration, and ban fracking.

The DWP said that they could remove the thin concrete layer and add plantings to stabilize the banks without jeopardizing their timeline. I support naturalizing the banks of the Silverlake reservoir to create a more sustainable environment and support nature and wildlife in Silverlake.

Due to bypassing E.I.S. and easement grants and later PAYING fines where this should be demanding for environmental and habitat protection and a Federal law that no company or corporation may do any construction drilling nor start a project without a full map blueprint of where and how they would intend to construct and where they would be digging and drilling. THAT would show they aren't digging up sacred sights or sovereign lands and wouldn't cause harm to the environmental habitat surrounding each section of that pipeline .
