• Stop the Spire STL Natural Gas Pipeline
In the past year, we’ve seen the fight against pipelines and for clean water gain momentum across the country, from Standing Rock to Sabal Trail. Now the pipeline fight has come to St. Louis, and we are ready to join the resistance. We demand that the Spire STL Pipeline project be dismissed immediately. The proposed Spire STL Pipeline would be a 66-mile, 24-inch diameter pipeline carrying natural gas. It would connect to the existing Rockies Express Pipeline in Scott County, Illinois, travel through Greene and Jersey Counties, and then pass under the Missouri River (pictured above) and through St. Charles and St. Louis Counties in Missouri before connecting with existing Laclede Gas facilities. We want Spire to know that natural gas is not clean energy, and that we will stand in solidarity with frontline communities in the northeast impacted by the destructive process of fracking for this dirty fuel. We do not support fossil fuel infrastructure, and will not stand for a pipeline that contributes to climate change and threatens people, wildlife, and water. Please sign this petition to President and CEO of Spire Suzanne Sitherwood to demand this project be stopped. Natural gas is dirty energy that we will not support.

  • Tell Congress not to eliminate the E.P.A
DO NOT TERMINATE THE ENVIRONMENTAL PROTECTION AGENCY. This is an agency that serves to PROTECT the American people, and this is outrageous that anyone would declare it terminated. Especially with such an inadequate bill, with no reasoning.

  • We demand that Scott Pruitt resign as head of the EPA
Scott Pruitt has been put in charge of the EPA by President Trump. The problem is that Pruitt supports the Keystone XL Pipeline and he has been critical of the vast amount of scientific evidence of global warming. As Oklahoma Attorney General, he has sued the EPA 14 times over clean air and water regulations calling those “unnecessary”. During his confirmation hearing he tried to walk back on his position of denying climate change but failed to admit that humans have caused climate change - claiming the degree of human impact is “debatable”. NASA and NOAA have clearly documented that 2016 was the hottest year in recorded history and human activity is the source. His direct conflicts of interest are evident by the fact that oil and gas are major industries in Oklahoma and he has supported them and failed to work toward the transition to clean/renewable energy that the American people are demanding - clean energy that will create jobs.

  • Redesign Colstrip from Coal to Solar &/or Wind Power
Coal has been in the spotlight, as contributing to climate change. In Montana, as elsewhere, many jobs are affected by the global economics that have led to the closing down of Colstrip Units 1 & 2 by 2022. Those jobs could be saved by redesigning the coal burning industry into Solar &/or Wind projects

  • Enewetak Atoll Nuclear Cleanup Veterans Need Benefits and Compensation
Help these Atomic Cleanup Veterans get the compensation, medical care, and recognition as other Atomic Veterans. My husband has suffered from late-stage colon cancer and after over 7 years he is still fighting for care and compensation. Out of over 8000 participants, there are less than 500 known survivors in which the majority are fighting for their lives, battling cancer, lung issues, thyroid issues, kidney, colon and other ailments from their exposure to the toxins left behind from the 43 Nuclear blasts in the 1950's.

  • Oregon Lawmakers: Support Clean Diesel for Clean Air!
Oregon's air is unhealthy and harming vulnerable Oregonians. The cause is preventable mobile and industrial pollution. The biggest and most harmful source of air pollution is dirty diesel engines. Heavy metals and other toxics stick to fine, sooty particles in diesel emissions that can make their way deep into our bodies where they can cause cancer, heart attacks, asthma attacks, stroke, infertility, and more. Thankfully, there is a clear solution: Oregon needs a statewide diesel emissions standard (like our neighbors CA and WA have) that requires cleaner-running diesel engines. New diesel engines (built after 2007) run quite clean (with up to 95% less pollution); the problem is diesel engines last a l-o-n-g time and Oregon doesn't require the new technology. Older diesel engines contribute to 60-70% of Oregon’s particulate pollution (DEQ). If we don't take action, Oregonians will be stuck with dirty diesel & dirty air for decades to come. Don't let that happen.Oregonians deserve to breathe clean air all the time wherever they live, work, and play.

  • Bring rooftop solar jobs back to Nevada
I lost my job designing and installing rooftop solar systems after the Nevada Public Utilities Commission killed Nevada’s rooftop solar industry. I had to leave my newborn son behind to take a job in Texas to support my family. Now there’s a chance to bring rooftop solar jobs back to Nevada. The Nevada Legislature will be considering bills on rooftop solar, but we have to act fast. The legislature only meets every two years, for just four months.

  • No Taxpayer Dollars to Protect Snyder's Flint Cronies
Michigan taxpayers are already funding Gov. Snyder's personal legal defense for the Flint Water Crisis. Now Snyder's office says that taxpayers will also pay to defend Flint Emergency Managers Darnell Earley and Gerald Ambrose – the Snyder administration cronies running the city when the water turned deadly. Enough is enough. Flint residents and fellow Michiganders shouldn’t be forced to pay to keep the officials who wronged them out of prison. It adds insult to injury – and it’s got to stop. Tell the Michigan Legislature to stop Gov. Snyder from raiding the public treasury today.

  • Help Stop the South Jersey Gas Pipeline, Pinelands Application No. 2012-0056.001
A major source of our state's drinking water, the Pinelands, will be at risk if the South Jersey Gas pipeline gets approved. The construction will destroy critical habitat and would affect drinking water for more than a million people. Long term, if the pipeline is approved it would open the floodgates to even more development. The pipeline violates the strong rules that protect the Pinelands, but the Commission in charge of the Pinelands is considering letting the pipeline get built anyway. The good news is that massive local opposition has forced the Commission to extend its public comment period, and now we have until February 8 to weigh in. We can win this fight, but it's going to come down to keeping up the public outcry. Add your name to our letter to help stop South Jersey Gas pipeline!
