End Fracking in NevadaOur natural resources and sacred lands are being threatened for short sighted monetary gain. When the natural gas is gone, the devastation will remain for generations. Ask yourself: "what are leaving for the next generations?"1,276 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by sarah short

STAY A MILE AWAY. PROTECT OUR CHILDRENThe Marcellus shale layer is radioactive. Radon can escape every time a well is drilled. Some of the drilling and compressing chemicals are carcinogenic, toxic or neurotoxic. Thousands of industrial compounds are not tested for their risk to human health. No driller is required to reveal what chemicals they are using or when. We do not have the knowledge, testing equipment, or experience to protect our children. This highly industrial activity imposed by ACT 13 should not be allowed to put our children in harms way. No permission slips were sent home. Tell school officials, State representatives, the Governor, and the President. No Marcellus Shale risky behavior next to our schools and our children. PASS LEGISLATIVE PROTECTION NOW. NO PERMISSION GRANTED. STAY A MILE AWAY. For more information go to web site LINK Protect Our Children170 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Denise Garrott

Tell Wilmar: Only actions, not words, will save forestsLast month, Wilmar International, the world’s largest palm oil trader, made a historic commitment to cut out deforestation, peatland destruction and the exploitation of human rights from its supply chain. This development has huge potential to transform the palm oil industry and the lives of people impacted by landgrabs and forest destruction. But so far, it’s just words on paper. Wilmar’s promise only matters if the company takes rapid and responsible action. Wilmar’s crimes span continents: it has much to amend. In West Kalimantan, Indonesia, one of Wilmar’s suppliers, Bumitama Agri, stands accused of destroying thousands of acres of forest and maintaining illegal plantations inside protected forest reserves. In the Kalangala Islands of Uganda, Wilmar subsidiaries have taken thousands of acres from local communities and have destroyed natural forest to grow palm oil. In Nigeria, Wilmar has acquired land that overlaps national forest reserves and community-owned lands, and has already deforested and bulldozed thousands of acres of forest and farmland. Tell Wilmar: Your promise of No Deforestation, No Exploitation, No Peat requires urgent action. And it should start now.724 of 800 SignaturesCreated by Peter Stocker

Biased ProgramThe Nevada Legislature has given the task of developing the hydraulic fracturing program and regulations to the Nevada Division of Minerals and the Nevada Division of Environmental Protection, both which are heavily influenced by the oil and gas industry. This is a conflict of interest. The evidence against the safety of hydraulic fracturing is extensive, yet hydraulic fracturing is occurring even before the legislatively mandated program is in place. We believe this is inappropriate. We believe peer-reviewed, scientific evidence (including the impacts of fracking to air, water, soil, public health, seismic activity, radioactive materials, exclusion from federal environmental acts, and social justice issues) ought to be carefully reviewed by those tasked with developing the hydraulic fracturing program. Nevada’s natural resources and public health are too important not to review evidence carefully before allowing further fracking to occur. We believe shortsighted monetary gain is being put ahead of safety and health. Therefore, we respectfully demand the Nevada Legislature ban fracking until an unbiased third party is identified to take over the task of developing the hydraulic fracturing program in Nevada.1,235 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by Dawn Harris

Reduce The Use!We love the yummy foods from General Mills like Cheerios, Cinnamon Toast Crunch, and Haagen-dazs ice cream. Unfortunately these products contain palm oil which come from palm trees located in the rain forrest. Actions like this can hurt animals like tigers. Because of this, tigers have nothing to eat and their habitats are destroyed. Encouraging General Mills to increase their efforts to use sustainable palm oils helps the environment, and helps animals like the tigers. Please join us!!! With your signature ,we are one step closer to sustaining palm oil and saving the tigers. Thank you for caring about our environment and preserving it for kids like us.196 of 200 SignaturesCreated by The students of AMY at James Martin

Livingston County Board of Supervisors: Ban frack waste in Livingston County, NYThe toxins and radioactive materials found in hydraulic fracturing waste are detrimental to public health and should be kept out of the water supply, and off the roadways. High volume hydraulic fracturing wastes must be banned from water treatment facilities to safeguard the drinking water supply for our county. Neighboring counties have enacted bans prohibiting fracking wastes. Our Board of Supervisors needs to act to protect the drinking water supply for the residents of Livingston County, NY.803 of 1,000 SignaturesCreated by Holly Adams

Governor Quinn: Help Victims of Environmental Racism in Carbondale, ILThe residents in the vicinity of the former Koppers Wood Treatment Plant have been adversely affected by the contamination of creosote. The plant shut down in 1991 when a concern became public that the Creosote in the wood treatment caused health and environmental issues. Those living and working in the area have a high incidence of cancer. Their health concerns have not been adequately addressed. This is predominantly a poor African American community that does not have the resources to seek an independent evaluation.92 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Pepper Holder

Tell FERC Just Say NO to More Oil & Gas Infrastructure! We know how profoundly fracking for oil and gas is impacting our communities. We know that methane leaks into our atmosphere at every step in the production and transportation of natural gas. We know that all of that infrastructure is making it easier for the industry to ship our domestic energy source to the highest bidder overseas. And we know that all these miles and miles of dangerous pipelines are transporting us away from, not toward, a clean energy future. Enough is enough! It's time for FERC to stop approving oil & gas infrastructure projects!144 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Karen Feridun

Prioritize Clean Air!I have lived in Utah most of my life. I suffer from asthma and migraines during the winter inversion months. My oldest child is on the autism spectrum, which scientists at Harvard linked to air pollution. I am currently expecting my third child and worried about the air quality's effect on my unborn baby. I don't allow my children to play outside on "yellow" or "red" inversion days. Our family does all it can to not contribute to the problem- carpooling, no idling, reducing energy consumption- but we need a large scale, valley-wide effort to make a difference in our community. We need action now!17 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Barbara Thornton

American Water Needs to Have Backup Water for Its CustomersOn January 9, 2014, in Charleston, West Virginia, a chemical spilled into American Water's water supply for 300,000 people, making it unusable for anything but flushing toilets. Unfortunately, there was no other source of water available, so American Water customers were without clean water for weeks and the contaminated water spread throughout the system. Me and my four children along with other extended family and countless friends were directly effected by this tragedy.239 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Jeni Pettigrew Burns
