• Charge $ per plastic and paper bags
While I did sign the petition to BAN plastic bags, I am proposing a step towards LIMITING all bags. Plastic and paper bags are totally and fully wasteful. This city could take a positive step towards putting bags (both plastic and paper) on the path towards EXTINCTION. NYC should CHARGE $ per plastic and paper bags! I personally do not touch both paper and plastic bags. I just chuck a reusable canvas bag in the backpack that is with me all the time. This IS something that NYC can do.

  • Expedia - pull your turtle ad
This petition is in response to a disturbing ad running on TV for Expedia which features a tourist harassing a turtle (with the message that the turtle was her new friend). Turtles are endangered species, and it is a felony to chase, touch, and harass them.

  • Water IS fuel
Petroleum is a direct assault against the human races. The water we drink has a higher octane than gasoline. Water = Hydrogen and oxygen. Hydrogen has an octane of 130 The space shuttle uses liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen. People are running engines with water all over the world. Easier to have a car running with water than a space ship.

  • Don't Frack Illinois Parks
The Illinois Legislature just passed a bill to regulate fracking. The bill was delivered to the governor for his signature on June 6. The bill fails to provide any setbacks to prohibit fracking in our state parks. Sponsored by Global Warming Solutions Group of Central Illinois.

  • No to Fracking in North Carolina
There are too many negative things to say about how too many people will be negatively, even dangerously, affected if fracking is allowed to happen in North Carolina. Please help stop the current bill or any other fracking bill from passing.

  • Put Resco to Rest
mI live in Baltimore half a mile from the Resco incinerator plant at the mouth where the Gwyns Falls feeds into the Patapsco River and into the Chesapeake Bay. This plant has been around for at least thirty years, as Long as I've lived here. I am also an asthmatic. This makes me the neighborhood canary. I KNOW when the filter system isn't working. But I'm only a struggling citizen in a poor neighborhood, so WHO cares, right? However, ground has just been broken for a stare of the art casino. This casino is going to be just a few hundred feet from this incinerator plant, right next door except for the Greyhound station. Will high and low rollers be willing to put up with an atmosphere reeking with partially fired chemicals and dine on a veranda next to the green sludge of the Middle Branch? I don't think so. Therefore, if not for the citizens of Baltimore's sake, then this chronic polluter Resco must be closed and dismantled for the sake of players we hope to attract from the Northeast región. It'no good going to play if you're literally gambling with your breath.

  • Child Tax Exemption Limits & Contraception Coverage
This is an over-population and environmental issue. I propose eliminating tax exemptions for more than two children and requiring ALL health insurance to cover ALL contraception methods and/or to make all contraception FREE.
