Support Polish farmers in calling for Chevron to Stand Down!Since June 3, farmers and residents in Poland are in a stand-off with Chevron. Under the protection of security, and in a very tense atmosphere, Chevron took possession of land to install a fence and drill a well. According to the locals, this land has only been permitted for seismic testing. The authorization for drill testing was canceled in June 2012 and therefore Chevron has no right to drill. The Polish farmers are opposed to unconventional shale gas drilling because it could lead to the contamination of their water and land; during previous seismic tests on-site explosives were used and had already caused water pollution, it became unfit for consumption. Chevron refuses to listen to the famers and local authorities are refusing to resolve the ongoing conflict. We denounce Chevron Poland’s practices and urge them to STAND DOWN! Sign the petition and stand in solidarity with farmers in Poland!1,784 of 2,000 SignaturesCreated by United For Action

U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service: Don't De-List Gray WolvesPresident Obama's Fish and Wildlife Service has proposed stripping gray wolves of federal protection, thus opening the door to mass poisoning, trapping and shooting from helicopters. Gray wolf populations have not sufficiently recovered to enable them to survive the resumption of extermination efforts. They are a necessary species in the ecosystem, and we must afford them protection until they are recovered. Sound science supports keeping them listed, and not letting cattle ranchers and trophy hunters win the day.183 of 200 SignaturesCreated by P. McKenna

San Antonio City Council: Stop Plastic Pollution and Ban the Bag El Concejo de la ciudad de San ...San Antonio uses millions of plastic grocery bags every year. They sit in landfills, litter streets, choke wildlife and clog our streams. And once they get into the city’s environment, plastic bags kill animals like birds, discourage potential investment, and cost the city as much as $1.3 million to clean up every year. The San Antonio city council Governance committee is currently considering adopting a ban on plastic bags and we need to show them the public supports this!

NO CPV VALLEY FRACK-FIRED POWER PLANT IN NYNew York state agencies are in the process of permitting several new gas-fired power plants such as the CPV Valley Energy Center in Orange County. These plants would be fueled by fracking in Pennsylvania and predicated on fracking in New York. This is the wrong road to take if we want a viable and sustainable energy policy that advances us toward 100% usage of renewable resources. Fracking is an inherently dangerous industrial process that is devastating communities in Pennsylvania as well as in New York, through its related infrastructure. We are opposed to the sale, transportation, and use of fracked gas. We demand that all New York state public officials as well as state agencies reject this project that depends on and facilitates fracking.2,559 of 3,000 SignaturesCreated by protect orange county

Chem TrailsConstantly see jets chemtrailing in the skies over Chicago , need a explanation as to what is the purpose of chemtrailing, who approved it, who does it, and have all the health and environmental ramifications been studied before chemtrailing commenced. Was chemtrailing approved by elected officials in Washington and the Governor and State Legislature of Illinois after they had understood the purpose and fully understood all health and environmental ramifications.5 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Noel Harris

Massachusetts: Label GMOsThe Food and Drug Administration does not require safety testing of new genetically modified foods (“GMOs”), instead relying on corporations' profits from the sale of such foods to ensure their safety for us. Contrary to industry claims, GMO foods have not been proven safe, and a growing body of independent, peer-reviewed studies have linked the consumption of GMO foods to allergies, infertility, immune problems, gastrointestinal disruption, cancer, and a host of other diseases. GMO crops can easily contaminate non-GMO crops, threatening organic agriculture, and their use is linked to increases in toxic pesticide use and the emergence of “superweeds.” Further, the absence of labeling of GMO foods and seeds prohibits those with specific ethical or religious practices from making informed food choices. More than 60 other countries around the world inform their citizens if their food is genetically engineered, and national polls consistently show that more than 90% of Americans want to share this same basic human right. GMO labeling legislation has been introduced in over 25 states, and on June 3, 2013, Connecticut passed a GMO labeling law - the first in the nation. But, it requires at least four other states to adopt similar legislation before it goes into effect. One state must border Connecticut. Massachusetts now has the opportunity to help protect the transparency, integrity, and democracy of our food supply for all Americans.26,455 of 30,000 SignaturesCreated by Pat Fiero

Georgia wants its Right Whale living, not deadThe Navy will use deadly sonar for over 20 years in the only place the right whale has to birth its young. Stop the extinction of the world's most endangered whale. Like us, it is one of God's creatures. Father's Day Message for President Obama: Reject Keystone 'Tar Sands' PipelineThe proposed Keystone XL Pipeline will, if approved, introduce massive new Carbon emissions into the atmosphere (as well other highly toxic chemicals) through the extraction, production and use of 'tar sands oil' - one of the dirtiest greenhouse gas intensive fuels on the planet. The scientific community has given ample warning. And just last month, global CO2 levels reached 400 particles per million - a level 'never before seen by humans' (see references, below) - concurrent with continued record-setting weather extremes across the United States and around the world. Approving this massive new greenhouse-gas project would be a huge historical folly - contrary to scientific warning, contrary to the President's pledge to 'protect us from the effects climate change' and, certainly, run counter to the President's own obligation as a father. This is our message to President Obama on this Father's Day. Charge $ per plastic and paper bagsWhile I did sign the petition to BAN plastic bags, I am proposing a step towards LIMITING all bags. Plastic and paper bags are totally and fully wasteful. This city could take a positive step towards putting bags (both plastic and paper) on the path towards EXTINCTION. NYC should CHARGE $ per plastic and paper bags! I personally do not touch both paper and plastic bags. I just chuck a reusable canvas bag in the backpack that is with me all the time. This IS something that NYC can do.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by David Camacho
