• Fracking in Illinois
Please do not allow fracking in Illinois. The southern part of the state is beautiful with designated wetlands and biodiversity. It is also the homeland of many diverse animjal species. I just visited this part of the state. Instead, we should be trying to promote tourism as opposed to ruining the precious land. Thank-you, Jeanette Alexander

  • Don't Frack California!
Fracking is an extreme process with catastrophic results. It involves injecting massive amounts of water and toxic chemicals into the ground to reach inaccessible oil and gas. This process threatens our water, our air, our farms, and health—and our planet. This issue affects everyone. If we ban fracking, it will also make it easier for other states to stand up and do so as well.

  • State Assembly: vote against fracking in California.
Fracking—injecting massive amounts of water and toxic chemicals into the ground to reach previously inaccessible oil and gas—is an extreme process, with catastrophic results. Maybe you've seen the footage of people in Pennsylvania lighting their tap water on fire after it's been contaminated with chemicals used in fracking. Fracking threatens our water, our air, our farms, and our health—and contributes to global warming.( http://www.moveon.org/r?r=289224&id=66523-21412315-CR23URx&t=4). An oil industry insider recently told Politico that if California—known as a progressive and Democratic state—moves forward with fracking, "it will be a lot harder to paint the process as an extreme process that risks the health and safety of individuals."(http://www.politico.com/story/2013/04/california-energy-fracking-battleground-90397.html). The State Assembly needs to take action NOW! They should vote YES on State Assembly Bill,A.B.,1301

  • Assembly Member Logue: Support BAN on Fracking
As a mother of two, I am concerned about the future of CA if fracking is allowed. How can injecting massive amounts of water and toxic chemicals into the ground to reach oil and gas be in the best interest of the citizens of CA, in particular our children? There are other cleaner, more responsible ways to generate energy. Please stand up to the oil and gas industries and stand with the citizens of CA who OPPOSE fracking.

  • Ban Fracking in California
Fracking is an extremely toxic method of extracting oil and natural gas from the ground. It pollutes not only the earth, but water and air as well, as toxic chemicals and water are forcefully pumped underground to force out oil and natural gas. Please add your voice and tell our elected officials in California that we want this destructive, polluting method banned in California--they will only take action on our behalf if they hear from us.

  • Ban California Fracking
Fracking is a destructive, polluting natural gas extraction process. California should reject it as a method for obtaining energy.

  • Stop fracking in California
The air we breathe and the water we drink will negatively affect the health of local communities. California must lead in the efforts to defeat fracking.

  • Silver Springs Basin Management Plan (BMAP)
The DEP has designated Silver Springs as impaired, with a nitrate level that is triple the maximum pollution threshold set by the agency. The Silver Springs Basin Management Plan (BMAP) will be the vehicle through which Marion County, joined by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, will try to curtail the flushing of nitrates into the springs. While eventually the plan will seek to identify and neutralize the pollutants at their source, the critical first step is defining the boundary of the springshed that feeds Silver Springs. Doing so will concentrate the anti-pollution efforts to come, said Mary Paulic, a DEP environmental consultant. A recent suggestion was made at a public meeting to exclude the Adena Springs Ranch slaughterhouse and surrounding areas from being included in this plan. This suggestion was made by an employee of Adena Springs Ranch and runs contrary to the discussion at the 3/14/13 meeting where Shane Williams stated the general feeling was the larger version of the springshed, should be used as the basis for this plan.
