• Making glass and plastic bottles available for refund when recycled everywhere!
Everyone needs incentives, our earth needs help by recycling, people need ways to make money. So my perposal is a win, win, win! So make all aluminum cans, and plastic bottles have a deposit, which if you recycle it at the sites available you get it back! The deposits not refunded can go to building the recycling facilities, and create jobs, for those maintaining the facilities! In Oregon this is in place, I was shocked Seattle does not! Seems like a no brainer, everyone wins! Join with me to make a difference!

  • Americans for PURE FUEL
Ethanol is bad for the fuel supply, reduces mpg, costs more than its worth, diverts corn from the food supply, corrodes engine parts. In short- ethanol for transportation fuel is hurting, not helping America. I've replaced two chainsaw and three string trimmer carbs because of ethanol corrosion. Never mind lawn mower and boat engines. At least offer the option of pure gasoline.

  • Stand up to Monsanto: Label genetically modified foods
Genetically Modified ingredients are in 75% of the foods on America's supermarket shelves. They have been linked to toxic and allergic reactions in people; to sick, sterile, and dead livestock; and to damage to virtually every organ studied in lab animals. I have a right to know if my food is genetically modified. Please pass a bill that requires labeling of foods containing Genetically Modified Organisms (GMOs). Ninety-one percent of the American public supports the right to know if foods are genetically modified. This may be the greatest level of bipartisan constituent agreement you've ever encountered on any issue in your career. There have been laws introduced in 19 states that would have required labeling of genetically modified foods, and on November 6 California may become the first state to pass GMO labeling legislation at the ballot box. Don't align with Monsanto, which was voted the most hated company on earth for 11 years running. Please align with your constituents, and: 1) Support GMO labeling legislation that is at least as strong as what is on the ballot in California; and 2) Support the right of states like California to mandate labeling of GMOs. Thank you.

  • End the subsidy to Monsanto
85% of the Farm Bill goes to GE crops, mostly corn and soy in the midwest. Almost none goes to fruits and vegetables or organic.

  • Presidente Ollanta Humala and Peruvian Contress: Stop seismic oil exploration and pass the Animal...
Seismic activity and pollution is threatening marine life in the South Pacific ocean. Every year, hundreds of marine mammals wash up on Peruvian shores, and over 80% of these animals are killed as a direct result of human impacts. The health of our oceans is at stake, and the Peruvian Congress and Presidente Humala have the authority to stop seismic testing in Peruvian waters and te pass the archived Animal Welfare act, which will provide protections for marine animals in Peru..

  • Stop Chemtrails Now!
We are given no satisfactory or definitive explanation of the use of Chemtrails. Some sources claim that the substances being rained down upon us are harmful to vegetation and those who consume it. Also, that Monsanto and their ilk are creating crops resistant to Chemtrail toxins and thereby creating dependency.

  • Put the brakes on global warming
Summer 2012 takes the record for record-breaking heat and drought, yet neither Presidential candidate has said a word about climate change as a pressing issue. Why is this? Without a livable planet, how much can jobs, the economy, abortion, or any of the rest of it matter?

  • Add global warming to the presidential debates
Global warming is the most important issue affecting the future of humanity on the planet. If it is not stopped and reversed, Earth will quickly become unlivable, witness the extreme weather we're already having around the world. It will be much worse with increasinng co2 levels.

  • Ban open styrofoam floats
Here in South Florida, many people use open styrofoam floats to work around boats. All these floats end up breaking down into their smallest particle or individual beads. I spend all my free time cleaning the waterways in Ft. Laud of plastic, and the amount of styrofoam beads in the canals is epidemic. For sure there are other options.

  • Take Action: Support the Governor’s Plan to End Gillnetting
On August 9, Governor Kitzhaber committed to protected the 13 species of salmon and steelhead in the Columbia River Basin that are listed under the federal Endangered Species Act. He pointed out that the use of non-tribal commercial gill nets in the mainstem of the Columbia is inconsistent with the long term goal of protecting the recovery of these endangered fish. This proposal is a win for endangered species; conservationists; and for commercial, sports and recreational fishers. Gill nets are an outdated fishing method, indiscriminately killing marine mammals, birds, and endangered native fish alongside hatchery-reared fish targeted for harvest. The Governor has proposed eliminating gill nets from the mainstem of the Columbia River while allowing their use in off channel sites like Young’s Bay. Under the Governor’s proposal, any commercial fishing in the mainstem would have to rely on selective fishing methods that minimize mortality to ESA-listed fish. Too many times before, special interests have undermined common-sense reforms for Columbia River fisheries management. Now, those same special interests are continuing to fight progress by misleading the public about this proposal. This isn’t about river access, harvest allocations or a battle between jobs versus the environment. This is a proposal to protect wild and endangered fish. We applaud Governor Kitzhaber for recognizing this key conservation issue and for initiating much-needed action to ensure a balanced and sustainable future for the Columbia River. Take action now and sign the petition.
