Don't re-elect Governor Cuomo if he approves frackingBy meeting with oil and gas companies and expressing approval for hydrofacking in New York State, Governor Cuomo is putting our drinking water, our environment, our quality of life, and the future of our children and grandchildren at stake. As a resident of the Marcellus Shale Region, ground zero for fracking in NYS, my personal safety and the property value of my home are in dire danger. We are calling for Governor Cuomo to stand strong in support of New Yorkers and our drinking water, rather than succumbing to the financial desires of big oil and gas.212 of 300 SignaturesCreated by Susan Weiner

Human Health and Ecosystems destroyed for a gameHow is it legal for golf courses to pollute so much? Whole ecosystems are destroyed and waterways polluted and air polluted so a few can hit a ball with a stick. Look at the cost to benefit ratio. I have health issues because I lived near a golf course. Most people don't realize that golf courses are one of the biggest polluters in our country.1 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Mnady

Drought relief- end Ethanol ScamThe midwest is in the middle of the worst drought in a half-century, destroying crops and pushing food prices higher. Despite the drought, ethanol plants continue to waste an average of 750,000 gallons of potable water EACH every day turning corn into ethanol.3 of 100 SignaturesCreated by David Folsom

Corn for food, not fuelBecause of a mandate, the Renewable Fuels Standard, 9% of fuel must be ethanol, so 40% of our corn goes for fuel. The UN has asked for end of mandate to relieve world food crisis. Ethanol pollutes, is less fuel efficient and costs taxpayers money. A governor must make request to EPA.110 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Sandra Folzer

Hawaii the Sun Run StateSolar Run Homes, Auto & Solar Fueling Stations for Hawaii. We have a great resource called sunshine. Let's promote what we have the most of and stop the needless waste and destruction of our natural beauty which we all depend on for the tourist based economy on this small island chain. Our scenic beauty is what we have going for us and yet it is still being laid to waist needlessly with plans for more resorts that will require more power to operate and plans for more power plants to help HELCO, our electric company supply the ever increasing demands. There are already grants available for public solar systems and low interest rates for electric cars. Lets get this into the mainstream and make it really a way of life. A new Sun Powered life.9 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Dibrah Ann Gwinn

Trader Joe's: We want meat without drugs!Antibiotics are pumped into cows, chickens and pigs so they can survive in cramped, filthy feedlots and to make them grow faster. The more antibiotics our livestock eat, the more drug resistant bacteria become, putting us at risk from deadly "superbugs." Grocery stores can play a critical role to help protect public health by asking their meat suppliers end this practice. We're looking to Trader Joe's, one of the nation's more progressive grocers, to commit to selling only meat raised without antibiotics. Tell Trader Joe's to lead the way in getting animals off antibiotics! Trader Joe's has shown concern for public health by refusing to sell products that have artificial colors, trans fats or GMOs. Let's get the grocer to take the next step! Hundreds of thousands of consumers have already signed on demanding that Trader Joe's sell only meat without antibiotics. Add your name, and let's get our meat off of drugs.51,427 of 75,000 SignaturesCreated by Consumers Union

Stop EthanolIt is insane that we are using a food product to fuel our cars with.Ethanol is an inefficient fuel and contributes to air and ground water pollution. It lowers fuel economy by anwhere from 5 to 40% depending on the ethanol content of the fuel and causes damage expensive parts in you engine. It doesn't reduce our dependence on imported because of the large amount of oil that goes into the growing making and shipping it..Corn uses a massive amount of petroleum based fertilizer, pesticides and fertilizer to grow it. Cellulosic ethanol is very expensive and many years away as no efficient way to make it has been developed. But now biobutanol is on the verge of mass production. Biobutanol is made from farm waste and other biomass waste such as wood chips and other waste products. Biobutanol has 95% of the energy content of gasoline and since it burns more completely than gasoline you will end up fuel economy better than gasoline alone instead of the penalty of fuel economy that ethanol has. Another side effect is a reduction in emmisions.44 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Stanley Wolff
