• Stop the worldwide greed
Greed seems to be the driving force for money hungry people who are after bigger or smaller treasures like rainforest - just to make more money which no one can eat when it is all over. However, we are all breathing the same air and the amount of water will always be the same, so after all it is in vain!

  • Petition to the United States Government to address climate change
On May 9, 2013 CO2 levels exceeded 400 ppm. This is considered by many as the point of no return that would melt up to 25% of the tundra releasing up to 100 gigatons per year, all of human emissions currently are only about 8 gigatons. Emergency action needed by the United States Government to address climate change to avoid major environmental and economic damage to the American people.

  • Ohio Water Withdrawal Permits
The Ohio legislature and Governor Kasich recently passed legislation necessary under the Great Lakes Compact regarding the withdrawal of water from Lake Erie that allows for the withdrawal of up to 2.5 million gallons of water per day without having to apply for a permit to do so. Most of the states surrounding the Great Lakes limit this to 100,000 gallons a day, so why would Ohio allow 25 times that limit? The legislation the governor signed was introduced by State Rep. Lynn Wachtmann, who happens to sit on the board of directors of the International Bottled Water Association. Although he claims no conflict of interest, even Stevie Wonder could clearly see one. I would like the people of Ohio to be able to vote to limit it to 100,000 gallons like most other states.

  • Bring back the Santa Susana Field Labratory Inter-Agency Work Group
The new leadership at the state toxics agency has shut down the Santa Susana Field Laboratory Inter-Agency Workgroup, which was the only place that the general public could, on a quarterly basis, learn the truth about what was going on with the cleanup of that contaminated site. The Workgroup is critical to assuring that a proper cleanup occurs. Help ensure the polluted site is cleaned up by signing this petition and encouraging your family, friends and colleagues to do the same.

  • Michigan wants all GMOs labeled on our food!
I just want to know what I am eating! GM Food is an organism whose genetic material has been altered using genetic engineering techniques. Right now, you could be eating corn or soy (or something else) that is GM and you probably don't even know it. Now is the time to tell legislators: I have a right to know about GMOs in the food I'm buying! Please stand for mandatory labeling of all genetically modified ingredients.

  • Demand Congress Pass Legislation that deals with Global Warming
We have known about the environmental crisis approaching since I was in college in 1966! I am sick of Washington denying and ignoring the fact that OUR PLANET IS BEING DESTROYED. I want them to enact bills that will save the water table, the oceans, the air, and the temperature. It could be the catalyst for the greatest scientific period ever.

  • No Hydrofracking in New York State
Hydrofracking will destroy New York's abundance of fresh water. Bottom line: this is our WATER. 50% of cement casings in these gas wells FAIL within 30 years of use, releasing hundreds of neurotoxins, plastics, natural gas, and other chemicals into our WATER. DO NOT allow the gas industry to drill in New York. What's at stake here is much more important than profit. These rigs must be safe for use forever otherwise they put our water in immediate danger of being undrinkable; and as of right now, they're clearly not safe.

Although my only involvement in this issue is as a consumer and taxpayer, I believe there should be restrictions agreed to and put in place before any approval process.

  • Legalize Industrial Hemp Farming in Washington
The U.S is the leading importer of hemp. Yet, it is still illegal for farmers in the U.S to produce. You can make environmentally friendly fuels for gas and diesel engines. Hemp fiberboard is four-times stronger than plywood. The paper you produce from it is stronger than paper from trees and recycles better too. One acre of hemp absorbs more greenhouse gases than and acre of trees. The Omega 3s from this plant are in the optimal ratio and hemp food products are excellent in protein. There is no way you can test positive from the hemp food products. The list of uses for this incredible plant goes on and on. In short, our state needs this economic and environmental boost. Let's work together to get this changed.

  • Monsanto does not have our best interests at heart
Stop pandering to businesses just because it's "good for business." There are many ways of doing business that do not harm people. It is disgusting that this bromide is used again and again in the name of allowing pollution, or allowing a company whose only concern is profit (never mind the repercussions), to do what they want without restraint.
