Chelan Fire Department is about to lose 50% of our 24-hour staffing! FEMA provided a SAFER grant at the beginning of 2017 to fund these 6 guys for 2 years, which expires at the end of December. By losing 6 professional firefighters, Chelan will be supremely under-protected. This means high safety risks for our community and our kids, increased mortgage insurance due to decreased fire protection, slower response times to emergencies, etc. Less than 1/2 of the town voted during the last election. So many people weren't aware of the situation we are facing and we all deserve the right to make an informed vote.

Wilson has claimed that this money was "charitable" & from his foundation, which wasn't not current on filing reports at the time of the giving. There are appearances that both Rauner & Wilson participated in the event as candidates. Wison's campaign handled media inquiries. Rauner had campaign staff with him. The accounts given by Wilson & Rauner are suspicious.

One should be able to prove they have basic knowledge of the country they wish to lead.

Our democracy only works when it’s working for all of us, but right now, the rules are rigged against us. We’ve already seen new candidates like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez win primaries by highlighting their plans to fight big money, and more and more candidates are speaking out every day. Sign on and encourage even more candidates to release their plans, so we can hold them accountable for acting to fix our democracy once they’re in office, and make it so powerful Congressional leaders can’t ignore our calls for real reform. We need leaders who are ready to stand up and fight for a democracy of, by, and for the people – add your voice to encourage them to speak out.

When a party begins to structure the government in a way that keeps them in power, removes the executive branch's power, and makes the judicial branch subservient, we no longer have a democracy, we have a cleptocracy. Don't allow any party control your right to choose. Call them out when they refuse to attend Town Halls or other events that won't allow you to express your opinions about how they conduct themselves. Force them to stop taking money from wealthy corporations, lobbyists, and individuals.

It seems like Donald Trump will do anything to avoid addressing the threat of Russian election interference head on. Our election infrastructure remains extremely vulnerable. Outdated and insecure voting systems must be replaced. Voters must be able to mark paper ballots which they can verify -- and which can serve as a back up. Election results must be audited manually to establish high confidence that the outcome is correct. Our democracy depends on it. Americans expect their leaders to put their country before their party when facing an ongoing threat from a hostile foreign state. Tell election officials in your state and county to secure our elections and protect our democracy.

Mississippi is one of few states that has yet to secure civil rights protections for everyone. There is no law that explicitly protects individuals from discrimination in housing, employment, education, or the use of public accommodations. Federal protections exist for certain people on the basis of race, sex, and other categories, but the coverage is limited for sexual orientation and gender identity. Oxford is known for being inclusive and diverse. We need to make sure all are welcome in our city. Help us protect our youth and the residents of Oxford by signing this petition for a Non-Discrimination Ordinance.

It is critical that we have a complete and accurate record of what occurred concerning the events of the 7/16/18 Helsinki Summit, of such monumental significance for our country. It is unacceptable that the official record be "edited" to alter its actual substance. Truth matters.
