I've spent numerous holidays away from home in far away countries. I know the toll it takes on our men and women in uniform to fight in a war and be away from their families, especially over the holidays. Every other president who served during wartime has shown our deployed forces respect by visiting them. If the president of the United States asks our military to fight these wars, he needs to at least visit them to show support. President Trump has said he'd "gladly" visit them "sometime soon." Let's hold him to that and show that he needs to make our military members and veterans a top priority.

Republicans in Wisconsin lost the gubernatorial election. Their solution? Go behind our backs to rewrite the rules of our democracy. When voters took to the polls this fall and elected a new governor -- who promised to serve as a check on the extremist GOP legislature -- these politicians should have gotten the message. But instead, they’ve called a last-minute special session (with almost no public notice or constituent input) -- and are planning to rig the laws in their favor. They’re rushing a package through the legislature that would limit the new governor's powers and restrict early voting -- all in an effort to subvert the will of We the People. We’ve seen this before in states like North Carolina, and the message is always the same: “If we can’t win in a democracy, we’ll break democracy to get our way.” We must fight back -- right here, right now, before their plan goes any further. Add your name to demand that all state legislators in Wisconsin stand up for voters -- and vote against this hyper-partisan assault on democracy.

The elimination of the influence of corporate money in politics and the egregious economic injustice to almost all Americans caused by that corporate money in politics is long overdue. All but big corporations and the very wealthy have been adversely affected by the 5-4 GOP SCOTUS ruling in Citizens United because it allows corporations and not our elected lawmakers to control and exploit our lives and our environment for their self-aggrandizement to the serious detriment of working families, small business owners of which I am one, and the very life of the planet.

Cause corporations were not meant to fund congressional members for agendas that create a larger gap between “classes” in society. Lobbyists are mule middle men who fuel corruption in the USA government. It needs to end now!

I am starting this petition because the Republicans in Wasington and the states are doing everything they can to prevent or make it more difficult for all Americans, especially citizensnof color to vote. This includes photo Ids, kicking off citizens of voter rolls and reducing the number of polling places requiring voters to stand in lines for hours.

Control of government by citizens begins with citizen involvement at the ballot box. Currently, voters do not choose their candidates--candidates choose their voters by gerrymandering to pack the voters they want into their districts and creating illogical and inconvenient districts for their opponents, making it difficult to serve these districts if they win. Gerrymandering also is designed to disenfranchise specific groups by creating districts where their vote is watered down.

Congressional gridlock has prevented necessary action by our Government for nearly 40 years. This term length change could provide the elected representatives of the People true freedom to focus on finding solutions to our collective needs through time free from campaigning. If we elect even number districts in the Presendential election year, and odd numbers in the midterms, only half of Congress will ever be distracted from work by election needs, maintaining a more consistant working environment in Washington, DC.

It has been reported that over 58% of Wisconsin citizens strongly disagree with the unfairness of the way the GOP has gerrymandered Wisconsin voting districts. Now that the GOP state legislature is trying to limit the new Dem. Governor's power, one of the concerns is that the GOP is simply trying to make it impossible to redraw our voting districts in a fair and non-partisan manner. Do you oppose this legislative action against fair redistricting?

Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi, well known for her support of legislation that benefits her Corporate donors, and her opposition to legislation that would benefit the working class, such as Medicare for All, has made it clear that if elected Speaker of the House, she will support her "Pay Go" legislation, by which the only Congressional laws that will pass and become Appropriation Bills for the Public Purpose are those that have already been budgeted for. This would cripple most of the progressive agenda as it was just proposed by Senator Bernie Sanders. It also reveals an appalling lack of knowledge about how our Fiscal Government, possesor of a Sovereign, Fiat currency, can and does issue through the Fed, "de novo", the money appropriated by Congress. Therefore her whole argument for Pay Go as a way to avoid larger deficits is totally baseless. The truth is, whenever trillions of dollars are needed to fund the Pentagon's requests for ever more expensive weapons, or to subsidize the 0.1% richest americans thru massive tax breaks, no one in Congress ever objects. But if the money is needed to fund Medicare For All, stronger social safety net, free public college education, a needed transition to clean energy or infrastructure repairs, a chorus of voices claims there is no money for that. This is why we strongly oppose Rep. Pelosi and support instead Rep.
