Senators: Reject SCOTUS AppointmentPresident Trump has repeatedly flouted the will of the majority, causing lasting harm to individuals from migrant children to our citizens with pre-existing healthcare conditions. The former touches me as a mother, the latter as well - willful sabotage of the ACA threatens my daughter’s well-being and even her life. Muslim Americans, LGBTQ community members, and many other people I count as friends are similarly harmed and perpetually on guard against new attacks on basic human and American rights by a president who rejects democratic debate and expresses authoritarian entitlement. Our faith in a fair, just land of opportunity for all is shaken, largely by the overreach of this President and the failure of Congress to provide reasonable checks on the President’s powers. These are extraordinary circumstances, including the active ongoing criminal indictments by Robert Mueller. The effect is a mass loss of confidence in our very democratic system. Our democracy will survive a mere delay in this president’s power to appoint a SCOTUS member until at least after 2018’s mid-term elections, when we’ve had a chance to express our preferences for representation. But our strained democracy will suffer irreparable harm if this president under these circumstances is green-lighted in his nomination for SCOTUS, especially where the nominee advocates even greater, nearly impenetrable presidential powers.176 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Patty Morris

Stop the appointment of Brett Kavanaugh! To the House of Representatives, Members of the Senate, my fellow Americans, and, most pointedly, President Donald J. Trump, My name is Charles Porter. I am a middle aged, working class American man. And I am forming this petition in the hopes that there is still decency remaining in what we call America. Since President Trump has been in office, I have watched the decline of the country I love. Allow me a moment to give you a brief overview of my family ties to our nation. My ancestors were among the first pilgrims to this land. My family, through my paternal grandmother, share family lineage with President GeorgeWashington. I am a direct descendent of the first Rear Admiral of the U.S. Navy. My family has been as American as one can possibly be. Sadly, I no longer recognize the America my family helped establish, uphold, and defend. And I fear we are on the verge of a constitutional crisis as never seen before. Our President's campaign and administration has been under investigation for over a year and a half, the results of which should be widely known by now. And now we have the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh as SCOTUS. This same Brett Kavanaugh, has written he believes the President should be above the law. As an American, I find this idea offensive, and downright wrong. The President is supposed to serve the country. Not himself. The office of President is supposed to be held by citizens! And no citizen, however powerful, is above the law. If we allow Mr. Trump to get his nominee into the Supreme Court, it could very probably destroy our country. We must stand against the man trying to stylize himself into an autocrat. It is now or never. Please, stand with me. Please stand with America11 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Charles Porter

Congress and USDA Secretary Sonny Perdue: Save the Kittens from Secret USDA Procedure that Kills...When I was born over sixty years ago, I came into a home with a kitty in it. I have been a cat lover ever since. Kitties deserve to be adored, not horribly abused in secret procedures which end in their deaths. https://www.whitecoatwaste.org/kittens/ There are modern techniques that can be substituted to end this atrocity. Legislation has been introduced in Congress which can end this inhumane abuse of cats and kittens: https://www.govtrack.us/congress/bills/115/hr5780 However, this bill only has a 2% chance of enactment without a TON of support from an outraged public! Thanks to all who have signed my petition so far! And keep on loving the kitties! UPDATE: I just found out that these barbarically abused kittens are killed at 11 weeks old by: I N C I N E R A T I N G T H E M A L I V E ! ! ! Only the most sadistic monsters could possibly work in a place that does this. The link to the site where I found this is: https://www.nbcwashington.com/news/local/USDA-Lab-in-Beltsville-Accused-of-Killing-Kittens-After-Testing--482079841.html I am sickened all over again by this! THESE SADISTS MUST BE STOPPED! I ask anyone who has signed or is signing my petition now to tell others about this horror and urge them to sign it, too. This petition needs to go VIRAL! Again, thanks to all who have signed already. And always love the kitties!517 of 600 SignaturesCreated by Pete Fagerstrom

Boycott Maine and Alaska Products and TourismIn addition to the fate of Women's Reproductive Rights, the appointment of the next Associate Justice to the Supreme Court will impact this country in other ways for generations to come. Evidence is mounting that our current President and his associates colluded with this nation's enemies to rig this country's 2016 Presidential Election. It seems more likely each day that the continued existence of our Democracy may depend on decisions made by the U.S.Supreme Court. The Justices may well be asked to rule on the constitutionality of : a) Requiring a sitting President to appear before a Grand Jury when subpoenaed; b) A President pardoning him/herself or his/her co-conspirators in an act of espionage c) Indicting a sitting President. We must use every resource within our power to ensure that the next Associate Justice is a person of character and not a potential co-conspirator. Sens. Murkowski and Collins hold the power ensure that and we must force them to use it.151 of 200 SignaturesCreated by Jake Jacobs

Trump should not be allowed to meet “off the record” with PutinI do not trust that Trump will not do whatever he thinks he needs to do to win the mid-terms, including conspiring with Russia to interfere. Until his innocence is demonstrated, he must not be allowed to meet alone and off the record with Putin.16 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Jane Ellis

Make Juneteenth A State and Federal Holiday June 19Juneteenth, also known as Juneteenth Independence Day or Freedom Day, is a day that commemorates the June 19, 1865, announcement of the abolition of slavery in the U.S. and more generally the emancipation of enslaved African-Americans throughout the former Confederacy of the southern United States. Its name is a portmanteau of "June" and "nineteenth", the date of its celebration. The news of General Robert E. Lee's surrender on April 9 moved slowly and did not reach Texas until May 1865. The Army of the Trans-Mississippi did not surrender until June 2. On June 18, Union Army General Gordon Granger arrived at Galveston Island with 2,000 federal troops to occupy Texas on behalf of the federal government. The following day, standing on the balcony of Galveston's Ashton Villa, Granger read aloud the contents of "General Order No. 3", announcing the total emancipation of those held as slaves: By the 1950s and 1960s, the Civil Rights Movement focused the attention of African-American youth on the struggle for racial equality and the future, but many linked these struggles to the historical struggles of their ancestors. Following the 1968 Poor People's Campaign to Washington D.C. called by Rev. Ralph Abernathy, many attendees returned home and initiated Juneteenth celebrations in areas where the day was not previously celebrated. Since the 1980s and 1990s, the holiday has been more widely celebrated among African-American communities. This should be a national holiday.369 of 400 SignaturesCreated by TRIANA ARNOLD-JAMES

Fact check BEFORE Presidential debates, not after. Our democracy requires citizens to evaluate candidates and then vote. Citizens deserve to evaluate a presidential debate that is based on verifiable facts rather than spin, misinformation, or outright lies. Candidates should not get to score cheap debating points or audience applause lines based on untrue statements.17 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Edmond Alkaslassy

Tell Congressman Jeff Denham #No VoteThis petition is to delay an appointment of a Supreme Court Justice to replace Justice Kennedy until after the November general election. The people must be able to vote for the candidate who best represents the majority. The wrong Justice could mean an end to Roe v Wade, LGBQT and immigrant rights and healthcare. In addition there will be an increase in more harsher and unequal laws on criminal justice sentencing and voting rights.28 of 100 SignaturesCreated by Jocelyn Marie Cooper
